By your definition, sure, I'm not a crafter. I only have ARM, BSM, and LTW at 60, and I craft mainly for glamour purposes, though I'm also not afraid to craft my own gear, within reason. Two-star crafting in it's current incarnation scares me, just like how Savage scares me. I'm sure you'll insist the comparison is flawed, but I think your example is a joke.
Once upon a time, I raided, and raiding requires seven other people to help you get your top-tier gear. I don't have seven other people now, nor a schedule conducive to joining a static, so I'm locked out of top-tier gear entirely. Once I have a tank, melee, ranged, and healer at cap again, I can't solo dungeons for EX roulette by playing all four at once. Once I have all Jobs at 60, I can't form a full party out of them to do raids on my own. Do you see me crying to the heavens about how unfair it is? That my choices are to either progress one at a time or gear them all evenly at a snail's pace, even then never getting that last, highest tier of gear simply because I can't solo the highest-tier content available?
