So you either take less gil and repair the item or the player uses an NPC and the money is removed from game. For the health of the economy this is Win/Win, because as you stated, everyone has an abundance of gil so we should be finding more ways of removing it, not shuffling it around the economy.
My guess would be those few newer players that come into the game with no current friends playing. Remember, many of these changes are also aimed at the future to nab more PS3ers when it finally launches in 2016 or whatever..
No, I am supporting less tedious processes in this game. Maybe one player decides to go out and solo in an area that is not 'overpopulated' because he wants to do something different. His gear takes damage and his craft levels are not high enough to repair some things. Now he has to run back to one of the 3 main cities? That is tedious. Having an NPC at camps/aetherytes is logical, Its a money sink. From your own comment above most people have an abundance of money (especially crafters), so implement this convenience at a lower cost and people will use it MORE, thus dumping some of their excess money and getting it out of the game.
There were many things were suggested that no one ever expected implemented, not only in this game but other mmos. Suggesting an idea doesn't hurt, do you have something against suggestions? Or are you just that bitter about the repair changes?
