You haven't played on a Legacy server then. When I was on both Balmung and Masamune, people left CT faster than I could get out of the cutscene and I'm on a PC o.o; I've never gotten the drop because of this, but... people have left fast before.

It was that in the first part but now with the upgrade items it's no longer an issue.
You are on the same server/data center - you should have probably seen some of the leecher that purposely get locked out or afk most of the fight. They are rare but they do exist.
By making the loot pool auto pass is giving them a free pass to AFK full time after the first loots dropped - they now don't even have to pass the item and it makes it harder to kick these trolls.
With the current rule now, at least they are forced the pass the item - and the longer they wait, the more risk they screw up their weekly loot so many would pass soon and easier to kick them.
But seriously 5 minute is more than enough, it is a small price to pay for not paying attention to loot, which is probably why you are even raiding WoD - the thing about 7/8 people leaving the dungeon and loot dropping to you is already fixed, won't happen anymore.
ya it should be auto pass..
It's been auto-pass for months and months now in CT/ST (May have changed when they stopped being weekly lockout? Everyone greeds on everything now, so haven't noticed). Dungeons don't auto-pass if you don't roll. Chances are likely that this is just a copypaste from the CT loot rules, kinda like how the Frontlines thing is a copypaste with the whole 'tomestones of philosophy' thing. But I guess there's always a chance they might have forgotten to make it auto-pass, sooooo.. better safe than sorry? Before they fixed this, I ended up with some trashy belt in CT, but it wasn't the end of the world. :P
Yeah, it's the entire point of this thread. The prelim notes just don't seem to note the change with loot they did with LotA/ST (specifically, if there is a weekly loot limit, you don't get drops unless you lot, which is how it should be) and people just want to make sure they don't regress back to the old ways with WoD.Quote:

But you know, since it's the official forums, people have to argue against good changes simply for the sake of arguing.
I have, because I've been that person many times (and never intentionally, despite what many of you seem to think)Quote:
Are you sure about that? The only time I've ever seen a drop get lost, is if everyone passes on it. I have never seen the result of everyone, except one person, passing and waiting five minutes, and I doubt you have.
In standard dungeons you will end up with the item despite not rolling for it. If multiple people don't roll/pass, it'll randomly go to one of them as if they both greeded (except you won't see them roll any numbers)
However LotA (back when it still had its item lockout) was eventually adjusted such that you needed to roll on an item to possibly be able to get it, due to all the people complaining about this very issue, which indicates to me that I'm far from being the only one that had encountered this problem.
