Add iLvl to "Examine"

Very glad to hear the devs were aware of this possibility!

The World of Warcraft community became very toxic and judgmental over item levels after the Gearscore addon was released. I am hoping that average item levels not only remain hidden, but that when addons are supported there will not be anything allowed that automatically calculates and displays other players' item levels, either. If you really want to know what your party members are wearing, feel free to examine them. But elitism should not be easily encouraged.

No, it's practically the same thing. Your problem isn't with people looking at your gear. Your problem is with people judging you on it, which they will do ANYWAYS. Even with Vanity.

You do know that blizzard added it in themselves, right?

Your item lv can neet the requirements but it means nothing if that person equips acr not suited to there class like this bard i met in garuda ex, had ilv 55~60 main gear but to make uo for the ilv she equpied ilv80-90 tank gear.......

And if I agreed with everything Blizzard did, I might still be playing WoW instead of ARR.

There are many people who feel Gearscore marked the beginning of a clear decline in the quality of WoW's community. Elitism will always exist, but suddenly it was taken to a whole new level. If Blizzard had taken a stance on the issue like SE's devs are here, perhaps things might have been different.

No, it was always at that level. Tools are tools. Numbers, such as ilvl are just numbers. It's people that abuse a system. And it's other people who RESPOND to that abuse that makes it worse.

So no more gathering/crafting/leveling other classes/spiritbonding while you're waiting around for the party to fill. Join a PF and be doomed to just standing around doing nothing until the rare role du jour happens by.

And if you don't give players a tool by which abuse can be done then those who would abuse it will have to settle on other means by which to exclude others. Like setting the party finder iLevel requirement to stupid levels. Either way, keeping your iLevel between you and the game is an intelligent move on the Devs' part. There's already enough vitriol in the community as is, don't need more.

i cheat to get past arbitrary or stupidly high ilvl reqs all the time, its not that hard to equip some accessories from another class and then just revert to your reg equip after you get in. i have yet to have a group question me even once, you know why? because skill trumps gear... do what you gotta do and make things happen.
