I am not sure if this poll has been filtered to account for unique submission. It's been filtered, but the basis for that is having a Google account, I believe.

I think it doesn't matter too much, as the number of likes on the initial post and the poll in conjunction are reason enough, at least, for them to conduct further validation of the figures if they feel the need to, e.g. by running their own survey on the launcher/Lodestone/by email.

I actually am convinced that it is a majority who want genderlock removed. That being said I think SE might remove just one of he genderlocks instead of the two if they see how many more ppl seem to want male viera compared to fem hrotgar, so I think we should also go like the other thread ^^

well i think its more 60% don't care if they get in or not 30% want them in and 10% don't want them in because of the 30%.

I think it's 40% don't care 55% would be happier and 5% are against it based on what I've seen so far both in game and in social media. Also the fact that hrotgar are male only and they replace male viera makes a lot of ppl hate the race. I think there's less ppl that want hrotgar or are happy with hrotgar than ppl who want male viera

And that "don't care" group will diminish in size once something more concrete is on the table. As stated before, the main concern for SE is: Does a large enough group want this for it to impact our bottom line (whether through lost/gained subs, fantasia spending etc)?, and not what % of the playerbase wants this as a proportion of the whole in the abstract, since that's fairly moot. If enough people want Viera males in a way that increases their profitability, they have a good reason to move to add them.

I just realized something. This is actually the exact same thug that happened in 1.0. Ppl are mad at a lot of things (no healer, lots of ppl don't seem to like the shard things, whm said to be easier etc) and 2 races are genderlocked even being almost the exact same as previous (instead of cat ears bunny ears and green skin furry skin) so this makes me think that next expansion we will for sure get the other genders at some point(be it at launch or 99.0, most likely 5.1-5.3, but just guessing)

Well, that means that they will release more information. I don't think it's clever to get hopes too high, but who knows, we might actually get confirmation on how and when male viera will be released. Imagine if they release it at launch! That being said, I won't get my hopes too high, but there always is some hope

They won't add one gender. If they add Viera males they'll have to come along with a female gender be it Hrothgar or something else. I think the best one can hope for is they decide to add those for 6.0. Realistically I doubt they'd be able to do it anytime before then. They're not even done with female Viera and male Hrothgar given headgear won't be ready for launch.

I get your point, but what they could (and my guess is) do, is add the gender that has more demand (male viera, I belive) and then confirm that they will add female hrotgar later, so like male viera at 5.0-5.3 female hrotgar 5.3-5.4

I doubt it. They'll do both or none but you're dreaming if you think they'll add just one and not keep the genders balanced. i think realistically if they add them it'll be for 6.0.

I did say that they will do both. Just release one 1 maybe 2 patches sooner than the other, and coming from SE who released 2 half baked races because they prefered that than doing one full race that would have gotten very few complains compared to now, it is a possibility

Look i'm glad your really hopeful and all but you really need to temper yourself or you will be disappointed. The Earliest that it could happen is 5.4 but realistically you should be looking at 6.0 if they decide to do them.

Here is why:
They made the decision to do the Hrothgar/Viera sometime around 4.1
4.1 was released on 10th October 2017
The races are still undergoing tuneups we don't see a near final version until sometime in May with the benchmark(we'll say May 15th since no accurate date yet and its right in middle of month having an even margin of error)
10/10/2017-15/05/2019 is 1 year 7 months and 5 days (small variable to due to unknown benchmark date)

They needn't - the same principle applies, in that focus on whether a "majority" of the playerbase wants the genderlock reversed is irrelevant. It just has to be a critical enough mass to allow for a higher stream of profits.

Think of it this way. If 6.0 adds the missing genders we might get a notable female Hrothgar/Ronso or male Viera/Viis npc somewhere in 5.x to tease them like with Yugiri and Fran, which would be pretty hype imo. So even if it's unrealistic to be able to play as either before 6.0, it's possible (though of course not guaranteed) you will still get a preview ^^

Just don't expect to see a male Viera until late 5.X patch cycle >_> this really bugs me as we are going to wander straight into a Viera village in 5.0 with just flavor text on males and this could be 1 of 2 expansion zones that may never get reused in expansion msq post 5.0 so we will barely get anything added for ages.
For reference HW msq never used SoC or AL and SB msq never used The Fringes or The Peaks past their respective times in base expansion MSQ. The Peaks is the worse offender by far as nothing in it is used at max level

So, reading some post of this thread I came up with two "versions". Personally I like the first one (A), but I don't dislike the other one either. Someone posted the "Male Omega image" and , yep I can imagine them being like that. I'm temped to do another one of the female hrothgar too. Sooo... yep, I would like to see them in-game but, no rush.

I agree with you, I hope they add them through 5.x too, and I don't expect to see them on launch day but I would certainly love it.
As for which design I personally prefer, Certainly A. The only thing I would change is that their armor is a lot less revealing than females, and I hope SE gives us an equally revealing racial armor

I really like B, since he's the same height as the female Viera example, and looks more similar in style to her. I wouldn't be opposed to something closer to A, but I'd be disappointed to have yet another race where the males are significantly larger than the females. They don't have to be smaller, but giving them the same height sliders would be nice.

I like this Viera! He is a combination of lean and bulky but not too much of either type. While I prefer the slender Omega M type figure or the chiseled Au Ra physique, I'm hoping Se does not bulk out the male Viera, should they choose to add them. I imagine there are arguments for both types, so its nice to see a combination of the two.

@Red Sinistra, I like that the armor is close to unisex and not the dramatically obvious stereotypical differences that we are used to getting! I like A the most but B is also lovely.

Mmm i like more A, but it can have the size of B, meaby something betwen A and B.

awesome art, red-sinistra, really glad to see some height/body comparisons. :') i definitely prefer the physique of A but would like them a head shorter so there isn't an extreme height difference when compared to female viera. +1 for hrothgar version too!

Really REALLY like this A looks great especially in something like full plate like the shire set, times like this I really wish there was armor that covered the face but could let the hair "flow", for me if they looked like that I'd switch right away probably. B is also good if it's the same height as the female viera with the option to go smaller i think it'd fill the niche of "elezen with short necks" and "miqo's with less muscles."

Either way wonderful artwork! appreciate the addition.

I think it could something lost in translation. They're likely referring to the unintuitive and by and large useless nature of the lily mechanic, since the job is getting a mechanic overhaul in 5.0.

A is cool except for the man boobs..lol They look like bound female breasts. I prefer B. The ears are cuter and more delicate looking then A's. There should be slightly more definition in the stomach area though. I love A's wild looking hair and defined chest. the upper chest looks a little weird. I'm used to seeing shirtless wrestlers. I feel like there's too much dimorphism for A. We don't need another Au Ra race. I'd dig A if it was the same height as B, though.

I'd rather not see Viera men become a lazy copy and paste of Miqo'te. If the only real difference were to be the ears, they might as well not be added at all so that the development time and precious resources can instead be spent adding to the customisation options of the existing playable races.

I'm not a fan of a, especially if that's the height difference. We already have au ra for that drastic Male towering over female trope. And he honestly looks like a cross between a Male au ra and a highlander. TL;DR that design while neat on it's own, when paired with what we have, is boring as h*ck.
B would be spot on perfect for me if he was just a smidge shorter than the female. He looks similar to the female in terms of body and personality aesthetics and doesn't reduce the race down to caricatures of masculinity and femininity, while still being obviously masculine. But in terms of height that would be the depiction of the tallest Male vs the shortest female in my preference. I just hope the males would be on average like a head shorter than the females because it's so much more different than every other race we have at the moment and where better to mix it up than with the matriarchal race of rabbit people, since female rabbits are larger than males?

I don't particularly care if the height of the men happens to be taller than the height of the women. I also don't care if they happen to be the same height. That could be a decent compromise.

There's very little depicting the Viera as 'matriarchal' given that the genders live in complete separation outside of occasionally meeting up to breed. That the men are fending for themselves in complete isolation is more of an argument for them to be fairly rugged, if anything.

In my eyes the females run the entirety of society therefore they are matriarchal. Ment arent even allowed the smallest bit of participation let alone the ability to rule.

And I just fundamentally disagree with "they survive on their own therefore they need to be grizzled and burly" idea. You dont need a mean looking aesthetic to survive in the wild. Hamsters are hella cute but live alone and will wreck you if you decide to mess with them. They dont need an 8 pack to do that and the only chest hair they have is the fluffy puffy fur that's super soft and cuddly (if it wasnt complemented with teeth that will absolutely rend the flesh from your bones).
