The Monk Temple

After reading various pages, it seems that True Strike isn't to be used until a certain gear level or SkSp level. So Twin will be used at all times until then?
At 45, I've been putting Dots up first then working into rotation weaving ToD/Fracture/Demo as I went. Since I don't have DK yet, at 50, would it be more wise to dot up first? or get Twin/IR/etc and mob debuffed then dot them and work from there?

edit: Also I haven't noticed, but do we have any sort of Stat weights to aim for?

Obviously STR is our prime stat, but what of Crit/det/SkSp/accy, etc..

A good number to aim for regarding Skill Speed is 491 and a accuracy of 480 for Coil of Bahamut. As for crit and determination, I always favor the former and treat determination as a supplemental stat on the gear.

- I only bother with True Strike when I fancy it or when I can't reach the mob's flank for whatever reason (i.e. Demon Wall). Uninterrupted I can usually come back around to and use Twin Snakes again right as the buff is falling off. There's relatively little harm in just using Twin Snakes full time. The damage gained from not losing the buff outweighs the slight amount of damage lost from the potency difference between Twin and True.

- If the target will live long enough (and they'll receive the full duration!) it's usually best to wait until stack 2 or 3 of GL before applying and maintaining your DoTs. If the target goes immune frequently (such as Ifrit HM) it's best to put up your DoTs earlier than usual.

- I've never really seen agreed upon, set in stone, stat weights. However, accuracy is first and foremost, but base accuracy seems to be more than enough until Coils in which case I've heard the magic number for 100% hit rate is around 470 (which is easily obtainable with Darklight). After that Crit, Skill Speed, and Determination seem to be more personal preference than anything.

In the first Stance/Opo Opo yes its a 100% crit chance which makes its a HUGE DPS increase in your rotation. True Strike only gets 5% from the back which is kinda meh but you get a 10 potency increase of Twin Snakes no matter what position,

Only during Opo-opo stance, so only after your initial cycle. The same goes for Dragon Kick's debuff. Because neither skill will receive their stance bonus at the start it's always better to open with Dragon Kick due to the potency difference, at least provided you can flank the enemy.

except during perfect balance, where every form bonus is active at all times.

Some mnks use balance to instantly GL3, but I prefer to use it on bursts most of the time. Rock breaker spam can clean a phase really quickly in some cases.

Theroically yes, but Boot is a huge liability on endgame, as oppose to spamming DK, which is really good, and even better on certain bosses (-10int)
1: Rear is dangerous, dangerous, and more dangerous
2: Moving target, flank has 2 sides, rear has 1.
3: Monsters and their 180 turns. You'll quickly notice a lot of boss/monsters will do 180-ignore-tank-turn to do skills
4: You are loosing 4seconds of Internal Release when you boot in your rotation

(this isn't to mention that as flank, you can run through a boss, east to west to avoid certain...skills, but cutting a boss back to front is sucidal)

DK is...just better. Boot has its moments, but unless you have a monster that is rear friendly...I wan to be as far away from rear as possible.

I don't think the rear is as dangerous as people make it out to be on endgame. All tail swipe moves have a cooldown on the boss and it's pretty safe.

Depends how good well your window timing is, and how much lag you can afford. Not to mention your own skill rotation, and movements of pt members.

Nothing worse then a tank, that runs through the boss and straight at you with a swipe.
