umm almost everyone 1 i knew or partied with had ridill. that was a good 300 ppl. e body i saw often and d ring also. Only stuff I rarely seen was the dynamis weapons, mythic weapons and never saw a emyprian or w.e weapon. Remember i did say I play ffxi for 12-20 hours I see alot of ppl during that time. spawn times made stuff no harder. The actuall fight does. Skill isn't on how long you play it is how good you play. I bet your not even a gamer let alone an mmo gamer.
It doesn't make the gear any rarer. It doesn't work.
If you can kill something 2 or 3 times you can kill it everytime. Unless something is litter impossible like AV then there is no point in it's strength once strats have been developed and people figure out how to kill it.

As a casual player (one good play session a week max, maybe a couple very short sessions) I am concerned that SE will confuse ACCESSIBLE content with EASY content. There is a very large difference. I should be able to start participating in a variety of interesting things to do, without wasting a lot of time to begin playing. However, once I am engaged in particular content, that content should NOT BE EASY TO COMPLETE. It should always be possible (and sometimes VERY LIKELY) for me to fail and have to try again later.
And as a casual player - I am ok with variety of content that requires varying time commitments. I just need to have a rough idea of what I am getting in to. An example could be a Gladiator's arena with different battle styles - Style 1 is single fights and pair ups and you can expect them to last 10-15 minutes to complete. After that you/your group gets dumped out and you sign back up. This lets a casual or hardcore player play as much as they want. Style 2 is a hold off the waves of ever increasing difficulty mobs type battle until your group gets slaughtered. Clearly this will have a different time commitment. SE - That is OK!
Now while I don't want to sit around waiting for a mob to pop, only to miss it. The game does need more content that takes a party 6 hours to tackle and is challenging, as well as more meaningfully designed content in the 1 hour time frame that is also challenging.
Dude, making them 24 hour pops didn't make them hard or fun, making them incredibly difficult...that made them hard and fun. Now granted I stopped playing a little after ToAU came out, so I can't say how easy anything is after lvl cap increase , but I say no to 24 hour pops.
dude can the flippen insults for me giving you facts. most of those 300 ppl were japanese. you get it? Redill was comman sight. Alot of ppl who no lives hunted them. But most ppl barely ad acess who did have a life. Sorry nothing you said is remotely true. 23-24 hr pop, 1hr window. Random spawn in that window, with rare drop rate, and hard difficulty (maybe some strong adds nearby, leading to epic MPK) All those things sound fun. :D

Alsi visch your twisting my words I did do some hnm hunts and got sick from it. I kept tabs on time and 99% of the time the nm was in the japanese time frame. which is my 12am-6am. Nearly every nm hunt I seen or saw the sched for was around during those times.
24 hr pop times doesn;t make anything more rare, it don;t make it more difficault either. All it did was get ppl sick or killed them.

what I said to visch was to stop givuing a pathetic attitude, to stop insulting everyone for not wanting 24 hr pops. And that those hnm gear drop were pretty common. Such as joytoy, ridill ebody etc. The 24 pop time didn't make the item more rare. Nor made it hard to get.
So the biggest arguement I see here is that drops aren't rare enough....change drop the rate then?
I do play, but only a couple times per week because with the current state of the game, I would rather do other things like, see the sun, or play Starcraft 2, or focus on schoolwork. When the game is patched and playable I intend on putting more time into it.

Not that I see where this comment comes from, but "playing the game" is not standing in Dragon's Aery for 3 hours or not actually getting to fight the Notorious Monster.
You might think so if you fit in the group of players that my signature is making fun of, however: a group of players which probably considers watching youtube videos and using third party applications to claim part of the game's challenge and immersion.

NMs should be powerful,requiring different tactics and team work to defeat.
Not "hard" couse you have to be at the exact place at the exact time with the exact bot to claim it.Been there , done that , is boring and is a stupid time sink only approved for those without lives, hell i sure was one.

umm its an mmo it is bound to happen as it ages like in ff11. people start getting stuf which means less and less competition. which is why ridill is common now. A ton of ppl had that stupid sword yet no one used it, it was mearly for status. Like kirin osode, ppl used it as a status symbol.
And trust me I wasted 6-7 years of my life playing ffxi, playing around 12-20 hour 7 days a week. My ex b/f paid for my count and every addon. That is how bad my life got. You do not what to enhd up like that...

They should make NM's spawnable by Farmed items, and the Good items that are dropped by these NM's should be rare/ex and untradable, this stops the bot claiming and gives everyone a chance to get these items. This also stops the cornering of the markets by these LS's with no life that sit and camp NM's all day to rape every person out there for all the gil they have earned. The person who spawns the NM gets the drop (if one) and the strategy of said NM's should change dynamically each and every battle. This would make the game more challenging and encourage team playing by helping each other get these drops.
What I'm saying is that 24hr NMs add an extra layer of difficulty because eventually the "hard" mob wont be hard...the strat wont be difficulty and anyone with half a brain can kill it.
So......if you don't restrict it by a time limit or once a day spawn...everyone will have it like Silver Tricorne in 1month. Also needs to be a low drop rate.

Seriously though, do you really think that staring at the screen, waiting for an NM to pop for like 3 hours (sometimes at 3am midnight), competing with other screen staring zombies and bots in spamming /ma Dia XXX in a lag infested zone, then when it pops, the winner goes to the one with the best internet ping, then you feel like you have wasted 3hours of your sleeping time doing nothing is fun?
Games are supposed to be fun, that is not fun, that is a job, an unfair one too. I've had my fair share of being an FFXI slave, sure there were fun times, but things can still be fun and rewarding without depriving you of your life.
