Yeah this really sucks.. My laptop has windows XP and the mouse constantly flashes and lowers the FPS. FIX THIS!!!!!!
bump.... i bet they can push this issue for another 12 months before they finally get their crap together.
What's bad is they are not even acknowledging that it is a bug. Read known bugs on the footnotes. If they do not know about it or turning a blind eye to it. It will never get resolved.
If anyone can help in making this problem better known to SE speak up because my wife is playing on a Vista PC and will not upgrade to 8.1 because she does not like the OS and can't seem to get win 7 anymore so I will do my part in voicing that the issue hasn't been resolved and will help in letting it be known better.
I've been posting about this issue since beta 3. Every update this is the one fix I look for first, and every updated I'm disappointed. I've saw the above quote as we were heading into 2.1, but it has been an ongoing issue for so long that I wasn't even surprised it still wasn't addressed. 2.1 comes and goes and here we are another patch passed when they are quoted as saying it would be fixed and still nothing. At this point it's hard to not wonder whether they are just incapable of fixing it, or simply don't care. It really feels like the latter. I mean, it's possible it's a case of prioritizing fixes and this particular one keeps getting pushed back, but we're working on one year of a particular known issue. I can't think of a single consumer service where that would be anywhere close to an acceptable situation. I've been patient, Jederien, what now?
Bumping for this, but i have like no hope left since it's been so long and they don't seems to give a shit about their customer >,>
So... Im guessing its still broken eh ?
You guys ever hear that story about the company that ignored their game breaking bugs until everyone quit that had the issue? Oh wait, that's this game!

did anyone try disabling everything present in the picture (remove all the checks) and got it fixed?
a quick search shows that it's a common issue.
The problem has been around for more than a year. We have tried all those options, plus more, including new drivers, etc. etc. This one is up to SE to fix because I'm not buying a new operating system just to play 1 game correctly. If it's not fixed by 2.2 I'll just move on to a new game.
there was a bump in the night.. and yet nothing was stirring, not even SE.
Not fixed in 2.16. However, I've seen a small change: now the pointer disappears completely and doesn't re-appear blinking temporarily with a semi-transparent square around it when you move the mouse. It could be just a coincidence, but maybe they're really trying to see how to fix it.
I also have this issue and am on Vista...Strangely enough it didn't effect me in the beta, but only now when I recently started playing again...
After spending a glorious 20 minutes on the phone with thier skillful technicians....btw that was sarcasm...I officially got a blowoff from Sqeenix that this is a issue many people have and that they MAY...hence the word MAY fix this issue in a latter patch but currently they have no idea how to fix this issue. TO me, Square Enix is full of crap for not fixing this issue that player have been dealing with for over 6 months now with not one fix which is absolute horse manure. Good Job SE...GJ!!!!!
So I read through all 22 pages of this thread thinking there is bound to be a solution to this simple cursor glitch only to be left completely disappointed. What the hell is this amateur bull crap. Why does this game have a monthly fee again? The hell?!
I MAY have inadvertently found a fix? Idk.
Yesterday when I started up the game, for some god beknownst reason the game was in full screen instead of my normal windowed mode, and the cursor was gone, which seems to be what you're all talking about right?
Well I finally got to the system menu and found out that the stupid thing had suddenly set my control to GAME PAD instead of MOUSE/KB. I switched it back and the cursor showed up immediately.
hope this helps
Nope, didn't work. Are you talking about the option that says "Enable Gamepad".. I unchecked that in full screen and still no cursor. Or are you talking about a different option?
Wow still nothing being done??
go to mouse settings and disable pointer trails it worked for me I also did a reset of the system settings on ff 14 with config.

problem is that I do not use pointer trails nor use enhance pointer precision.
^ this issue seems to have different ways of "fixing". too bad none works for my brothers system. probably some bad coding somewhere. I heard this was a issue way backkkkkk in 1.0? lol.
