well yeah he is handsome! it’s the only good looking face option with fake eyebrows tho. the rest is unga bunga looking. just shows how lacking they are and how they are in dire need of better face options (so you don‘t see only clones of yourself) and actual eyebrows!

i just hope for a reworked character creation in the future, across all races..

You didn’t have to do that. It’s a forum, people are gonna disagree. If someone gets offended over a forum post that’s on them not you. Debates are fun and welcome. I like seeing other people’s opinions on things, just because i question them doesn’t mean i’m offended or hopefully no one else is.

I say, less robes.

More high fantasy warrior armor/ rogue/ archer armor that doesn't have a freaking coat or buttcape (like dark souls/ for honor)

Give players Hoods for every class, not just some melee dps

Less outfits with excessive belts that serve no purpose

Give males chest hair

Cid's hair looks too feminine, give him a makeover or let me kill him. I find him incredibly annoying because of his appearance & his voice- keep his beard but change his hair & then release it for male characters

Give stubble to males

Give eyebrows to Highlander males

Honestly, I'm not entirely sure what constitutes as 'manly' towards armor except no frills, lace or dresses. But men wore stockings in the Renaissance & frills so /shrug

Don't think OP said they look ugly. Highlanders would fit really well as Ken dolls in Barbie's Pirate Booty Adventure and Barbie's Arabian Nights. Some people find that aesthetic attractive, others prefer more normal and traditional manly characters, which is what OP was requesting.

What do either of those have to do with highlanders though? OP wants to look like Cid, a highlander with a custom face. The person you quoted is a player with a highlander character. Somehow the quoted person is not traditionally normal and/or manly, despite the only difference between their character and Cid being melanin and a shorter beard. I dungettit.

Frankly I think highlanders are hot, they just need eyebrows.

Well yes, but the second one appears to be defined as manly in the same ways that Highlanders would be defined as manly, so I'm with Rokke on not understanding why you'd single them out as not.

Also the other pictures, while not "traditionally manly" (according to what may be a shorter span of history than you realise), the other pictures are neither feminine nor androgynous but still clearly men.

i just hope SE realizes the attention xiv is getting as of right now and give it a budget it deserves. would be nuts to see an engine upgrade coming with 7.0! all of the races are in need of some overhaul.

I'd personally just like more facial hair options. I don't mind being a "pretty boy" elezen, but having more choices than "Dracula mustache" and "wolverine chops" would be nice.

Regarding the OP, FF offer a nice variety with Highlander and Roe, of course I wouldn't complain at all if they added more beards for all faces or scar options. Wish they expanded custom options for all the old races.

I can't speak for other people, but when I think of "normal" manly males, I'm thinking of something that's not exaggerated like highlander, and especially not roe. Sure there are men in real life with a physique like highlanders, it's not what I'd personally consider a "normal" look. Something more in line with midlander, with a bit stronger jaws, and striking features (plus taller) would be something I'd want, and fit "normal" and masculine/manly for me. A few more popular masculine western hairstyles would make it all the better.

Men can look good with or without facial hair. And I don't think AGE has anything to do with it. Being 30 or over doesn't mean you're gonna suddenly start loving beards more.

I'm personally not a beard fan. (small beard sure) But nothing huge.

What women/people like is all personal preference and can't be regulated to age or whatever.

Now with all that said...

Guys/people should be able to have more beard/facial hair options. Longer or shorter, whatever THEY feel works best for them.

I don't think that actor is actually better to illustrate the point. He has a strong jaw and he's in make up there to look more vampiric, but even so I think he looks better between the two. The second guy just looks bizarre to my eyes, in spite of the musculature. Maybe it's the angle of the shot, maybe it's his facial proportions, but the first one's look better balanced.

Yes, considering they're built almost to the same size as a male highlander or Au Ra... solely a consequence of them being the female counterpart to a race built like a fridge. So not too surprising, if you're just going off the build.

I would never play one as in the end, they don't look like men, they look like large women. They just need to do some work on the already available options like Highlanders and Au Ra. I'd love it if they gave midlanders the option to go for more muscular builds, but no doubt, too much work...
