I say white for optimal level. Yellow for above my level. Green for below my level. BUT... Since I must choose between green and yellow... Green for optimal.
Personally, I associate Red with bad or danger, yellow with caution, and green with good or "okay". So my choice would be for Yellow to be somewhat not as good, and Green for perfect fit.
I vote yellow for optimal level. in anycase if green is the color chosen, a flashier one should be picked, this one looks way too pale in my opinion...
Two MASSIVE things they still haven't fixed for ui/options and don't see em in... self name toggle only (keeping other names up while urs is off) as well as weather toggle... I know these have both gotten dev responses but both of them the devs have no idea what we want or are talking about or even why... It's gettin really depressing already.... *sigh* ... other than that it looks good!
Oh and here's hoping there's more party search system fixes and a working loot system for parties in 1.19 :S (Hell even a /roll 1-100 would be nice, kinda sad we don't even have this yet but keep gettin more rare items and item changes as well as more instances, what happened to priority fixes first?... >.<)
Kind of off topic:
Will there be a way to toggle scroll-lock on/off?
Making videos is hard if you have to cellotape down your scoll-lock key just to keep the UI out of your face (my scrlk key always pops back up after about a minute).
I have already voted for green for optimal, but after reading some of the additional comments - I have been thinking about a different color for just above optimal. Maybe pink or possibly orange would be better for just above optimal - both colors contain red and could signify "getting closer to the red zone, caution."
The yellow could be used as the slightly less than optimal color, heading down towards the grey zone. Still indicating caution, warning - danger ahead.
I think current system makes sense:
Red = an item way above your current level
Yellow = an item closer to your current level, but slightly higher
Green = an item equal to your level or slightly lower than it
Grey = An item way below your current level
All they need to do now is actually tell us what having a Red,yellow,Green,Grey optimal rank item means. Does grey mean that my item decreases in stats or something or does red mean my item deteriorate faster or scales down to my level or what?
The only thing I don't like is that the gear colors don't apply to the stat boosts as well. They should have used that to help indicate stat differences as well.
Support Green for optimal
I like green because you think of it as getting a green light. Everything's good to GO!
I would vote green as optimal for a natural and cooler color. Yellow is a heat color and implies building up out of the natural direction.
Green please
Green is my vote
Green here!
Nooooooooooooooooo!
I think green.
Blurple...
Thank you everyone for your feedback! Green is the winner and dev1035 has been edited to reflect the change. ^_^
I'd go for green.
Options are good, but, am I the only one who's a bit worried about the indecisiveness? Must have something to do with the constant nagging on these forums. Like SE is afraid of just implementing something as soon as a discussion about it starts.
Like I said, I think options are a good thing, but do we really have to discuss something that mundane? Seems odd, but maybe that's just me. :)
I thought this "Optimal" system was being phased out, so what is the point in all this colouring if soon it will all be restricted to required level anyway? Is it not?
First I want to say, I love everything coming with these updates.
As a controller user I'm looking forward to being able to get to the micro menu easier as well as being able to toggle macro pages to stay open as opposed to having to hold the button ^^.
Now one suggestion I have:
I noticed that the font size is getting upgraded. Well I was wondering if we could have a way to increase the size of the party HP bars. I honestly hate healing just because the bars are so tiny. I know you can move them around on screen but I've never been able to expand them (maybe I'm doing it wrong.) but being able to make these bigger would be a big help for me, and I'm sure that others would like to be able to change the size as well.
Other than that I'm loving these UI Adjustments and hope you guys keep up all the awesome work! :D
The font is often greener on the other side.
I am actually glad SE lets us choose on the mundane stuff and not what really matters, like important features in development. As is widely known, gamers do not really know what they want, thats the game developer's job and a simple color change on a name does not affect long term features or content they have planned.
Why do you need a color for gear below your level? Seems dumb that you wouldn't get full stats from gear if you are over its optimal rank.
