Now we get to fight against scalpers as well as other players. Shameful of Square Enix to rely on a ticket event handler that obviously cannot handle large traffic.

Wellp, I guess it's like any other event.
WTB 2x Tickets, 360$ cap each.
Reply here if you're interested, I'll check back a few times today.
(Only reason is I've already got the rooms/plane chartered, don't want to have to deal with cancelling/changing those up.)
Had been trying since the 10:30am opening and managed to get to chose my number of tickets before it disconnected me. Extremely surprised and disappointed (as well as the many others) that Square Enix has yet to be able to plan for a large amount of traffic...
well seems we broke the site not there out of tickets from what ff14 twitter page has to say hmm there might be hope :D i highly doubt it but HOPE is better then RIOT
I saw 4 ticket remaning i tought that it i wont get ticket. But got lucky and get into the buying process and got my ticket. My heart almost stop when i saw 4 lol.
I dont see much of a reason to scalp tickets because it specifically ask for your character name and database server.
What's going on? I have been trying to load the even since 10:30 and it has just continuously said "This event is currently unavailable."
I even loaded it BEFORE 10:30 and it has said the same thing. Refreshed, cleared cache. Logged into customer networks with different ISP's. All the same thing.
At NO point did it show the page. This is EXTREMELY aggravating. I LIVE IN LAS VEGAS >_<
I made 2 attempts, each one took about 5min to end with an error message (starting at 1035 PST). The third time I tried, it kicked me out and said the event was unavailable. Got to love it!
out of curiousity did you just refresh the page (which if you went to it early would change the address to the sites /unavailable page) or did you try to opena brand new link using http://sqex.to/u7S
which would mean you kept refreshing the unavailable page
Opened the actual link, not the unavailable page :)
EDIT:
Were we getting any special items for pre-sales tix or anything? The email made me under the impression we were getting stuff but I think that's for everyone looking back on it so it's not a terrible tragedy =/
anyone know what the phone number is for Fan Fest customer support?
yesss..PLEASE DEAR GOD..I need..I need 2 tickets. T^T please…please…*sobs*
Same here this was my only trip planned this year and it kept timing out before getting to second page. They need to add more tickets and repost today, I and many others took time off to try to get the tickets.
Subscribers really should get priority for the entire rest of the pool of tickets, including the "general" ones. I also support the reduction of tickets per promo code per person to one or two.
Edit: it just baffles me that fans don't get priority for all the tickets in a "fan festival."
yea it will be a silent release knowing how SE works and then there will still be a S*** storm because they will either re crash site sell out in 2 mins people will be working so cant buy or asleep or some other reason just wish they would of made this all pre reborn players sign up and next week all active members and no everyone else because if i get a ticket and find some one who doesnt even plat at this place i will want to punch then because they got a ticket some one who actually supports the game should of had
I wonder if this all could have been avoided by providing a survey to players to gage the interest in a fan fair and had the appropriate number of tickets available.
I barely got my tickets for me and my friends. After trying to buy Comic Con tickets, I learn to just let the page load without refreshing it over and over. It took forever to load the pages but I eventually got in.
The loading time did deduct the overall total time that I had available to fill out the forms for three people before the tickets were canceled so I had to rush. I hope I didn’t make any typos >_<
I just dont understand why people were so adamant about booking flight and hotel arrangements BEFORE obtaining event tickets knowing they were in limited quantiy... kinda putting the carriage before the horse no ?
can't speak for everyone else... but i wanted to get the best price possible and i honestly didn't think it would be this impossible to get tickets... i knew the tickets would go fast but this was crazy
Not always. I actually looked 5 weeks ago (or whenever it was at E3 when they announced where/when it was going to be) into booking at the Rio itself so I could stay at the hotel the fest was in, there were only 5 rooms left at that point. I passed because I made arrangements to stay with family down there to save money, but i've booked months in advance for flights too, and picked up the last seat. There's no strangeness in booking hotel/flights months in advance. If anything, it's smarter to do that. Granted, i'm probably not going to get to go because it timed out on me 3 times and then website went offline but I understand booking with the plan to most likely end up getting tickets (which, yes, isn't a guarantee, but a lot of people didn't expect this to be this popular. I did)
Man, I booked flight/hotel as soon as the Las Vegas date was announced. This is seriously disappointing, especially after making it into the purchase page at 10:31 PDT and then immediately getting kicked out of the page and the website.
Guess I really shouldn't have gotten my hopes up so high, though. Would have made the crushing disappointment easier to take, and I wouldn't have wasted a vacation day off of work just to buy the tickets. :(
I think those of us who were in queue with ordered being "processed" should get a personal email with a direct chance of purchasing our tickets individually before they are rereleased to everyone else. I'm sure there must be some server record of codes that were used and successfully at least got to the next step, or *something*. :\ I was in three times: when the site said there were over 1200 tickets left, around 500, and 4. Every time it timed out. Once i got the timer that told me i had over 13 minutes left to enter my information. I have to wonder why my ticket wasn't reserved, at least until that 13 minutes was up.
A lot of hotels allow cancellations a week before the event, but a lot of airline tickets do not.
I know when I had bought my airline ticket to Japan almost 7 months in advance, there was a disclaimer stating that it was non refundable unless I wanted to reschedule my flight it with a large penalty fee.
I DEMAND TO KNOW WHERE THE ANNOUNCEMENT WILL BE MADE!!! @*#($&*#($&*#$)#$(#$(#$)$)$)#* I get off of work in 30 mins. 15 mins. commute and 3 mins to open up my browser at home!!! GODS!!!!
At least when general ticket sales go up there's guaranteed to be scalpers, so there's always hope for the desperate?
