Halp. Too many iconic dps classes! Warrior, PLD and White mage aren't ICONIC?! besides, titan HM will be 1 healer, 1 tank, 6 ninja
It will prob make the duty finder wait longer but on the other hand it may bring players back to the game i mean my guilds dead right now everyone has all classes max or at least were they are happy at. So anything to bring ppl back is a good thing or at least that's how i see it;)
Are you kidding me? Ive seen far less people abusing tanks then tanks abusing other people. Im not alone as you can see, i think that reflects a general experience across the game. If there is an issue its the other way around.
TL;DR There are a lot more asshole tanks.
I disgree, adding a new tank and healer class/job isn't going to fix the problem. I don't understand why you feel these additions will fix the communites attitude.
I like how you think just releasing a new Tank and Healer means people are going to play them, especially over the insanely popular Ninja. It really wouldn't make a significant difference, there would still be far too many DPS queuing verses Healers and Tanks.
You know what would be a better "solution" to this "problem"? Increasing the Adventurer In Need bonus temporarily. Seeing as people will likely be able to queue up on low level and guildhest roulettes and almost guarantee the easiest dungeons/guildhests, I'm sure more than just myself will be taking advantage of that. Then there are people who haven't leveled everything and can use this as a good chance to level their Tanks and Healers. Even without new Tank or Healer Jobs, more Tanks and Healers are likely to be queuing than regular, if they're not, again, SE can just increase their reward for queuing.
The only remaining "issue" is the number of Rouges running around the world doing FATEs/etc. The only serious problem there is the massive competition for Hunting Log entries, but again; Arcanist didn't cause huge problems in this regard, and Arcanist had a radioactive squirrel following them around. Much more screen clutter there.
That's a really good idea, if that gil bonus were, say, tripled and maybe throw some extra tomestones in it too, I'd bloody well take advantage of that.
Keep the high rewards around for 3-5 weeks or until the new class hype dies down a little, easy fix, everyone is happy.
One thing I certainly won't be worried about when they're released. Gear. DoH ftw.
No!
1 more dps is not going to catastrophicly destroy the balance of the DF as you seem to think. It already has an over-abundance of dps compared to tnk/healz, so 1 more is not going to make a huge difference. Yes a lot of people will be leveling it when it first comes out, but they did the same thing with arcanist when 2.0 released. An did that destroy the duty finder? No it didnt.
Offering 3 flavors is better than offering just 1.
And in fact, if they announce Samurai as a class and it be a Tank, belive me, it would match the popularity of the Ninja right away.
The increased reward is a good idea, but, everyone is expecting others to go for those rewards, so things will not change much, DF still going to hell because of Ninja overpopulation.
Be the change in the world that you want to see instead of expecting everyone else to do so.....
In other words, while everyone else is playing the new jobs, play tank. Don't expect everyone else to tank/heal so that you can play yet another dps job.
The way I see it, the addition of new jobs/classes is the perfect time to take up tanking. While everyone is complaining about queues, you'll be reaping the benefit of not only returning players on those jobs but of the current players switching to them.
But, of course, your response to that will be "But I don't wanna..."
So I guess you can't complain when others "Don't wanna..."
I think they are delaying it to 2.4 because they are preparing a tank and healer already.... (It is basic logic anyways...)
In the videos the classes seemed to be ready for 2.3... So why not implementing them in 2.3?... Because it would happen what OP said...
Reason that tanks and healers have not been revealed for 2.4 is either because they are not ready yet or they want it to be a surprise...
If 2.4 doesn't bring tanks and healers with the extra DPS class and job then... then... I'll do a harvest dance. So imagine how sure I can say they'll come.
Healers and DPS have to put up with bad DPS too. The issues they cause are not exclusive to tanks. But we also have to put up with bad tanks, which are far more devastating. Tanks use being a tank for their bad attitudes towards others, when ALL the roles have to deal with the same crap.
Wow that would be awesome! Leonardo, Raphaello, Donatello, Michaelangelo, Dicaprio and prosciutto! (One I added o to make it sound like the others, part of the Bloody-O group! ;)
Next let's bring the 3 Musketeers into the fray! ;)
- so yeah, let's not forget all that there will be a letter 16 for 2.4, they might hide some nice surprises, which they always 'try' to do ^^
Are you saying all players will level NIN imbalancing the DF?
I play a tank and healer for a very specific reason, I am looking for more of a challenge than "don't stand in fire" and roll your face across your KB occasionally. I like having to pay attention and having a challenge so to answer that for you, NO all your tanks and healers are going to disappear so you should still be able to run content in the DF.
Are you saying the introduction of NIN will mean 1M new subscribers / users?
I am sure Squenix would like that but its not a reality, you are not going to see a mass influx of people who were just waiting for NIN to be added and in the hopes it was a DPS Class and not an evasion tank class such as it was in XI.
Are you saying that people leveling NIN will increase the DPS queue time?
If you play DPS today and want to play NIN (DPS) tomorrow guess what, that's not 2 DPS spots that need to be filled in the DF its still just 1 because you can only play one job at a time. The requirements and number of players to pull from does not change when DPS plays a different DPS class.
It would seem you are quick to assume when no one knows anything and are just speculating, why don't you wait until some real info is released other than a few screenshots to make your assumptions.Quote:
Having said this, i really hope at least someone is not just hyped but is also aware of what would mean the addition of another DPS class in the actual class balance.
Can someone please provide me with link where Yoshi detailed which role the news jobs are going to be?
it definitely would make more sense to release rogue alongside another class, but i don't think it's going to impact numbers at 50 that much, there's no guarantee everyone will like/care about it, and eventually they'll move back to their main job
