Because your always Negative Not one Positive word out of your Mouth, Yes you may have Vaild points in certain areas but the tone you use gives off a troll vibe.
By the way everyone here's the full Music of that area =)

Dunno if it's been brought up yet here what with all the trolling but someone in my LS brought up an interesting fact. All of the players are named for their race/class. The Lalafel Marauder is named Lalafel Exc. Executioner? Or is that just some kind of translation issue?
Exc is basically Marauder.
Looks great. I'm even more interested in what can possibly be in rank50+ and beyond.
@ giftforce
When I read your post, sometimes a facepalm is not enough.
And the godfather of MMO, WoW, reuses their old skins to "make new content" all the time...Firelands anyone? Oh right, looks like Sartharion, or wait...Molten Core anyone?
So you are only gonna "approve" new content, if its developed from scratch, otherwise its them being lazy? Get over yourself...
Are you a game dev? If not, how could you possibly understand it ever? Wow takes almost 6-8months to create ONE stupid raid zone...so what do people expect? FFXIV has prolly like half if not less the size of WoW dev team...Quote:
You know, I understand your points and everything, but why the UI is still a mess and why progress is seemingly slow, that I do not understand.
So i just came home and watched this vid ... I almost came!
I say it here and now and you can kill me later for it but .... i would pay monthly fees for content like this!
Wow just read through this and I can't wait to tackle this new dungeon. However to touch on what Gifthorse has mentioned and I know I will get burned for this but what has the rest of the dev team been doing?
Ok so they are using a pre-existing zone that's fine as it is one we have not had access to anyway but does this mean that the area designers are hard at work on the zone redesign? I don't know I just have a feeling that SE is not telling the whole story here.
I have always felt that the game was not lacking content because it wasn't finished but more because the content was ripped out prior to launch while they figured out what they were going to do with the underlying mechanics of the game. I just have a feeling this dungeon is part of that ripped out content that they have just adjusted to work with the new mechanics. If that's true it's not necessarily a bad thing, it could mean they have lots of content ready to go and are just waiting for the core to get fixed and everything finalised before they start putting everything back in.
There is just something a bit off with this, they have a huge team 100+ if I recall correctly and they pulled their top talent from other projects to help with the rebuild of FFXIV, so you would think they would be a bit further along with all this stuff now.
Who knows though, maybe they do have a load of stuff ready for 1.20 and just want to get mechanics and core gameplay elements finalised in 1.18 and 1.19.
The UI looks messy in that video because the person playing organized it that way.
Not very many games will allow you to move, scale, and adjust your main interface the way FFXIV does. This is one feature that was well thought out. Could use some new features and a lock ability, but overall how the hell can you complain?
If your on screen UI is still taking too much real estate, that's your own fault for not scaling and adjusting to fit better.
other note: video looked pretty damn amazing :B can NOT wait! also need 50 asap
*Listens to Dungeon/Raid Music over and over and over and over......* This Music so Friggen Epic!!!
But yes I do agree this is a Start "The Beginning Foundation" of this Game Major Turn around hopefully by FFXIV Year Anni it will be a game we will all love.
Just like FFXI had a bad start in Japan but guess what on their Year Anni.. the game was really awesome to play at that point!
Obviously, but for some odd reason people love to ignore the fact that they said it will take a long time -- look at what Blizzard did for Cataclysm, even something like that takes awhile to do and that's ignoring the actual content and client changes.
What does this have to do with anything? Just because we don't see it doesn't mean it's nonexistent, but I actually work in this industry so I am a bit biased.Quote:

A lot of what people feel are just personal opinions on the matter, but certain people like to pass it off as fact when it comes to SE and development. Stuff in FFXI doesn't just spring up after a work week, Abyssea was in progress and announced almost a year (if not longer) in advance (when XIV was talked about at the new years vanafest) before release, they didn't just do it a week prior to it's launch. So they are busy doing stuff, they're not going to release it as they finish doing things...no company does and no MMO I've played the past 20 years (including the mudphase) has released things as they finished -- Or else we'd get a new piece of weapon and armor daily or textures for monsters/areas etc on a daily basis, which is kind of counterproductive in the grand scheme of things.
We'd also get localization fixes daily given the percission they change entries (check dev tracker).
Wait, are you guys seriously discussing graphic things about this dungeon?
Just complain on how awesome this dungeon is, which means, shut the F*ck up and enjoy it.
Everything is looking great! :D I can't wait to play the dungeons. Going to be awesome. I don't care if they were already in the game, as long as they're being utilized now.
And Gift, I'm not trying to be rude, but you ask why people think you're still trolling even though you might actually being giving your actual opinion? Because you cried Wolf (Troll) too many times, and now nobody believes anything you say because in their minds, it's just what you do.
I understand your concerns that they have been in the game already, however, I'm glad they're finally using them simply because:
1) It's better to use them than to leave them in the corner and just build new content over it without ever letting us experience these dungeons. Now we can use this until they release new styles of dungeons not previously built into the game.
2) It got content out to us faster than it would have if they completely redesigned a new dungeon. I'd rather receive un-used content that's already been in the game rather than wait 2-3 more months to wait on a completely new design. They already have a lot on their hands since they decided they are going to revamp the world's style.
I think they're going in the right direction here.
Looks promising! Can't wait go through the dungeon with my linkshell. :)
I don't like the time-limit. It's going to encourage rushing down the shortest path to the final boss. Didn't SE say there were going to be multiple paths with multiple bosses? Nobody will want to explore or do the optional content if there's a possibility there won't be enough time to finish.
Maybe there will be a method to expand the time-limit during the dungeon, who knows.
Well at least it's looking pretty good, and not your copy and paste dungeon.
At 1.09 is that THM's new close range auto attack I see there?
I'm pretty sure that a big part of the main zone redesign is what they are adding to them.Quote:

All the beast man tribe camps, and 'hubs', for which there are a few screen shots.
Every one of those beast men, mostly, are probably new models, since there isn't really a beast man presence in the game yet. That's a LOT of models on it's own. What about that night picture with all the machines and steam and awesome looking stuff? All new models. And that picture with the shed and fence. new models. I'm sure there's new models in the hubs as well. maybe a couple new trees and plants to go in there? Boxes and jars and all the lore as to what kind of things the beast men use.
My point is that this new dev team came in at around January. it's been about 6 months and change since then, but lets be realistic. They had to clean a lot of stuff up first, finish some unfinished project work and develop a whole new plan for the game.
I'd say they're making astounding progress if you remember just how much new model work is going into the development of the beast men tribe and lore right now. of course all of that can be put into new dungeons.
They have a couple ready made dungeons sitting around and a revamped battle system to try them out on.
I LIKE IT.
wow, this looked quite amazing!
This looked amazing! Sure the animatiions during cutscenes could use some work but they still look damn awesome!
sooooo are the dungeons tied in with the grand companies then? That's really cool if so. Seems like a good way to introduce the raids with sturdy lore and what not.
Again, They haven't said if the time limit is static or dynamic. Dynamis has a Dynamic Time Limit, It starts at 60, but after completeing objectives you get more time you can't beat it all in 60 minutes, you need the time bonuses.
So getting to a mini boss with 13 minutes beating him and then getting an extra 15 minutes to fight the final boss is still in a realm of possibility. Or they could have taken their time to make some of the scenes more cinematic and never got to the final boss. We don't know yet.
I am glad they revoked animations. It all looked excat the same. This will make gameplay more juicy. Really good improvements from the video. And 1.18 is just a start, if patch goes well. with 1.19 and 1.20 further may game become good. Nice job from what I saw, devs.
