This is the important part of this whole situation.

They had no plans to change it a month ago. Tell me the last time you haven't changed your mind about something for a whole month.
Did it the enrage and noticed slightly more dmg from ads or feelt like dmg was high and no couldent kill it, but normal way was atlest a win :)

I'll just leave this here~
I'm very happy about this change. Hopefully in the future coil turns all enrages will actually wipe a group instead of making it easier. This way, if my group does need a PuG and we list "experienced only", we will actually get someone who knows the mechanics.
Could be a boss in the upcoming turns has a similar "pass the rot" mechanic that can't be cheesed. Maybe SE is giving people a chance to learn or re-learn how to do it. *shrug*
/facepalm
Of course there's always a chance for someone to lie about exp when joining a group. That's pretty much a given. However now if they turn out not to be lying, then they will actually know the mechanics. They wont just know how to exploit the enrage.
I have never done T2 the enrage way. But I am glad they buffed the enrage damage, better late then never. SE probably never thought people would figure out the way to make it so you don't have to do any of the mechanics on a fight.
All the abilities the ADS uses are from nodes, including Allagan Rot. If you kill the Quarantine Node, ADS has no rot, so when the timer goes down to zero, there's no rot to detonate. It's intentional, of course; the tradeoff is that you give the ADS a 50% attack speed buff instead. The rot gives you a hard timer and greater coordination needs, the Quarantine Node route gives you a soft timer but beats the ever-loving piss out of you along the way. The design goal was that you can go either way. Problem is, Quarantine route is an absolute nightmare, so nobody ever goes that way, enrage timer or no. SE just did a poor job of balancing the fight.
Did not plan for the thread to become a "you need skills to clear T2' thread. Just wanted to know if people had same issues we had which seem to be the case.
They said they considered it "not an exploit". This is not the same as "working as intended". In fact, they very clearly said that the "enrage" method was NOT an intended way to complete Turn 2, but that it wasn't considered an exploit (and thus, not bannable) to employ it. They also said they had no plans to change it at the time but never said they'd never change it.
Jeez Square Enix are such jerks! Then why would they post something LIKE THIS and then screw us over!?!?!

Passing the rot is so easy I don't know why people would want to sit around waiting for enrage. The hardest part of the turn is ensuring not one high voltage is missed. That comes down to the reaction skills of your BRDs and PLDs.
This should have been patched months ago.
yes, it was "fixed" because enough people whined that others were doing the content differently than they were.
I'm lol'ing at the idea that there were multiple statics in the thread that only knew how to do the enrage method. Statics.
Im leaning towards the ability delay issue over it being buffed. I already did it for the week so I wont be able to test it till reset. Also about the enrage mode. If your healers arent geared for it. Its going to be a bad time. I personally see nothing wrong with the enrage way. Its whoevers static doing it and not yours. So it has no effect on you. T2 is the only boss in the game that requires you to pass something between each other.
Wouldn't surprise me. There is a new method on t2 that is easier anyhow and it includes a trick way to passing RoT. I doubt SE ninja'd anything to be honest. Reddit is claiming t5 is nerfed, I suppose my group will find out when our whm returns from rl business this week. Reddit has been wrong in the past. I won't claim SE Ninja'd anything until an official announcement.
just add a 4th healer and take a little longer lol
I have done T2 both ways.
Two things in this thread make me giggle though:
1) People saying they are glad they buffed it because other people were not playing the way they play. Like seriously? Are we in kindergarten again people?
2) People saying that only heavily geared people should be able to do enrage mode for farming. Sorry what? Only people with the best gear should be able to beat it the easy way? AHAHAHAHAH
Guess I better fix what I said. T2 is the only boss that you have to constantly pass something that wipes the group in a whole and not just one person.
How about 3 healers(silence), 1 PLD, 4 Warriors (DPS) T_T
Now I see in party finder today, "T2 3 WHM enrage" guess they didn't really fix the problem people still doing it.
Here's what i want to know, why do you people give a shit if others do this stuff differently than you? I can clear t2 the normal way just fine, it's just annoying when people are tired/ new/ pugs/ whatever and you have to wipe on it multiple times. I don't need gear from turn 2 at all, so for me personally, its nothing more than a stepping stone to a turn i actually need stuff from. So wiping on something and getting frustrated over it is not worth it, yet i still want to help my friends. Its not like the enrage method stops you and your ego from doing it the more complicated way if you wanted to. I'm somewhat disappointed by this news, i'll have to see if it is indeed too difficult now to do. Though i already have an idea on how to heal it if is more difficult.
So... im guessing that T2 is now working as intended, as the unintended strategy has been patched? like the tree in AK?
Do not care either way.
Pretty sure this is about the ninja buff Google Translate is being crazy on me..... Either that or its T5.

The enrage method was all about just healing through extreme damage and avoiding rot, which was an instant wipe if screwed up. Seems to me that there is a path through T2 that is there specifically for that option, and that is the West side + the Quarantine node.
If you go that way, it buffs ADS haste which makes you take more damage (but avoids the rot). Not sure how the haste buff works - does it make the special attacks fire off quicker (so you can't dodge) or does it make the rotation quicker? Or both? If the former, it feels a lot like enrage - heal through it. If the latter, you would also need more on silence duty.
In before the expected response of "need to do it the way it was intended to be done". If that was the case, why is there an option to remove rot by also defeating the Quarantine node on that path?
Sounds like they might revert the changes T2 and T5 back to 2.15 in an emergency maintenance, because they were suppose to be in 2.2 and they weren't ready not bug tested yet. Yoshi has a post below.

Yup, Looks like when 2.2 hits Enrage will be buffed and the Changes to T5. So people have less than a month to learn how to pass rot. As for the changes to T5 haven't been yet this week, But I like the changes to the snakes.
Never tried that, Can you just have an extra healer?
