Thing is housing shouldn't be a hardcore feature but something everybody should get access to. Like I said in another topic, in most modern MMO everybody can toy with housing but you have to grind and work hard for the rarest and finest housing furnitures (and/or the best houses if there are premade designs).

I see no reason to gate the housing such as it is done with the current system. Especially when you have to go through content unrelated to housing to actually unlock the feature through money (plus, you have then to craft all furnitures, which should be a FC effort).

The difference between housing cost and BCoil is that everybody can get a shot to coil.

well that is the current issue for FC House Price now.

I personally never expect SE to place a price that would allow a decent amount of FC to buy land for their FC Housing anyways. For now we can only wait and see how the decrease in prices over a set of time will handle.

even the cheapest house isnt affordable by a lot of FCs in a Legacy server. And we are talking about a house that cant barely hold more than six people.

Working for something that achieves skill is one thing. This isn't about work. It's about "Do you have enough people in your FC to donate the gil? If not you're screwed." Work implies effort. This isn't effort it's about time. Time is not effort.

FYI, a HQ vanya hat(casting) sells for under 225k on Sargatanas right now, and that's not even the worst part - it's taken more than 10 days to move the last 20 pieces sold, this comes out to 2 pcs sold on the entire server per day, because most people these days just make it themselves.

Now what do you think is going to happen with even more people trying to jump in to supply the non-existent market?

Please re-read the pricing grid.

Smallest plot of land on my server is 40 million. Which would reduce to 20 million after 3 months. There is no buying a cheaper plot on these servers for smaller fc's.

I think FC housing should be something you have to work for as a group, something you can strive to get as a result of some good effort. Heck, that's obviously what SE are thinking too. That being said... the prices on Legacy servers are pretty insane. I'm a Legacy player on a Legacy server and let me tell you, if I were to join a FC and "chip in" on housing, my contribution would be meaningless, even if I gave them ALL my Gil.

So instead of checking the sale history of vanya hat, which sells average 200k, u look at the person selling the 5 meld hat =/

Alright I don't have the time nor the interest to go in every single server and take a look at how the economy is flowing.

Yoshii is not stupid. He has a threshold on the number of fc's + players that are getting their houses. Minimum threshold anyways. If he did in fact underestimate the server's economy, then he will simply drop the prices at a faster rate.

Just because it's up on the Marketboard doesn't mean it will sell. It almost certainly won't. I can get one made for a fraction of that price. I haven't seen a Vanya item sell for that much in months.

40 players. 1 mil each. 20 players. 2 mil each. Not cheap, but not possible. It makes sense to me that the only baby FCs that should get housing ate the ones clearly dedicated enough to get them

Of course it's a penta hat. Do you want to know what it costs on lamia? lol. I have been an active trader on ilv70 hq items. If you want to talk about no materia, I have seen 5 digit hq pieces sell in desperation because 100+K is "too expensive". But market board is whatever. In my server, people in MD are crafting ilv70 hq just for tips. That is where our server is at. That is why we pay only 4M gil. Even the endgame products come by as FREE.

edit: also I would be damned if I say a hq piece sell within 4 days on lamia. You are complaining about 2 per day? lol

I cannot at ALL support this. I'm not wasting my money on smaller, inferior options when my FC won't at all be satisfied knowing it isn't the best. I'm not waiting 90 days++ to have a reasonable price, either.

I think somewhere along the line, Square forgot that people HAVING MONEY does not mean you have to try and take every bloody penny.

My friends and I have saved 12 million towards housing over 2 months and are bummed that housing on our server is 20 million for the cheapest.

Stop complaining. First of all, it is a FC house, and it suppose to be something valuable. If it is dirt cheap then people will start complaining like every FC has one and the Manson area looks like a 3rd world country apartment complex!

Second, 625m is for the most populated legacy world only. The non-legacy world highest is only 125M which is very reasonable.

Nobody has ever said every FC could afford a house, in fact they clearly stated that it will be something a big FC could afford on day 1. Please don't complain just because you see everyone else is complaining and you never smart enough to inform yourself first.

When I played UO, you could buy a house as a single player without going bankrupt. Guilds (FCs in XIV) could buy far bigger places, but the price rose astronomically, as it should. Why don't SE understand this simple concept? Let me place a house in god knows where, a place to call my own, and my FC in the middle of Uldah. Are you that stupid?

I'm not sure if you really understand what you just wrote, which frankly just supports my point.

The level of economic activity in this game is shit, it's terrible, because the fundamental resource/game mechanic/balance system behind it is utter crap. This limits the earning potential of the player population, remember, those two pieces of vanya would net their seller less than 50k in actual profit.

When you add in a pure money sink the size of that SE is doing, it will also heavily skew the supply/demand across the entire market. Coming from 7+ years of Eve, the level of sheer incompetence in understanding game economy displayed by SE is shocking.

Are you confusing between player housing and FC housing? I remember yoshi had mention multiple times during Q&A regarding FC housing will be a luxury item for big FC at the start.

The only way some of these prices make any sense at all is one or more of the following:

A. They wanted to artificially control the initial stress on housing instances
B. They wanted a better way to confiscate gil from RMT, since they will be some of the only ones who can afford housing. They said they will take the house, thus removing gil from the game without it spreading through economy.
C. They really are that @$$ backwards and decided to just go casual on relics, NM's, end game raiding and go hardcore on housing...which...I mean...it hurts...my brain
D. There were typo's in some of their calculations on some servers which multiplied some value out exponentially, and we will find the pricing on legacy servers to be much closer to so some the other lower ones shown.

I mean what is SE considering a small guild? Does a small house hold that many players? Are there really that many guilds out there that consider themselves small guilds with 25-50 active members?

That's pretty unfair. When it was first declared, yes it was stated that it would be expensive, but the roundabout price they threw out was roughly about 4-5 million. 625 just because of server population is a little far from: "It will cost as much as leveling a character to 50 3-4 times." I don't know about you, but not everyone, even in large FC's have 162 members with a million gil each. So to say that people didn't inform themselves is just as uninformed as you claim they are to be.

Not everyone has the ability to make a storm of gil. Some have no idea how to go about it, and some know how to play the markets like a fiddle.
But overall, the pricing needs to change. My FC isn't massive, but we've been working our asses off and amassed about 10million between an active 20 people or so. And thats not even enough to bother with, because we just so happen to be on Balmung.
