Ah I remember the old days of 11 when they would announce how many accounts were banned due to RMT. Made me at least feel something was done.

I actually wish that reporting RMT's were easier..this going to their website business to submit a ticket was stupid...I actually refused to do it after submitting...I don't even know how many...
I hope they find where the botters and RMT'ers live and behead them.
I've never been a fan of witch hunts. XI's crew having to hire someone to solely monitor in-game transactions was simply asinine and a show that there was something wrong with the game if RMT could thrive there, and that the developers were willing to do everything but fix things.
I'm not too worried about bots, add-ons and RMT. Add-ons are generally just player made utilities to make our life easier, not something programmed to play the game for you.
I lived through the great inflation period of 05/06 in XI. Nothing I've played since, has ever come close to that insanity. A lot of it had to do with design issues that have since been corrected in modern games. Yes, botters will exist in any form in any online game, but will be more annoying than anything else. The way I see it, the days of the RMT literally controlling the economy top to bottom are long gone.
Also though many of you hate to hear it, I highly doubt that 2.0 will rely on timed pops for exclusive mats or gear that can be sold. The days of 8 linkshells competing for a weekly pop are long gone. Sure there will be world spawns but I'd bet that anything of note will be instanced. Also I highly doubt they will have 72 hour spawn windows or any of that nonsense. This itself should lessen the impact of programmed auto-bots.
So yeah, report them, troll them/what have you, but don't worry about it getting to potentially game-breaking levels.
Eh RMT's will always exist in any MMO because some players have the "Pay to Win" mentality. The community is what gives RMT's a market. Stop buying gil and they will go away :)
Funny you say that ;)
