Ironmouse at fanfest

I don't see any real issue with her being there. I've only seen bits and moments of her so I can't speak to her fully but she seems like a pretty solid, talented person who does what she can to support some very important causes. And since she's only slotted in for being part of the music segment of the Fan Fest it seems like a decent enough fit. (And I'd much rather her be involved than any of the supposed "Real FF14 Content Creators" out there who are known names but do nothing but repeatedly crap on the game every chance they get)

I will say that I am concerned on what sort of in game content/context they'll include her in given that there is an implication of that as I'd rather she didn't really end up in game in any sort of main/unavoidable sense. But that's nothing to do with her personally and more to do with me not really wanting any known celebrity or personality to be part of FF14. It's not Fortnite after all. I'm already iffy enough on collaborations with other games but an actual person/personality is going beyond what I'm comfortable with.

Just skip her panel. She has nothing to add about the game and is really only there for attention, which sounds rude but is very bluntly true.
You could honestly pull up an episode of the Rugrats and hear the exact same things, specifically because of that baby babble back of the tongue child lisp thing she does that creeps me the h out. Just want to remind people though not to stand too close to her monitor or ask any questions, lets not have a repeat of her last episode here. Maybe her monitor wrangler can be instructed to quickly turn her away sometimes-you know when.

I might be misremembering, but I vaguely recall seeing a clip a long ass time ago where she mentioned the game as being something she used to feel less lonely on holiday days like Christmas, because it allowed her to be 'with people' on such days. It's nice that MMOs can do such a thing for people in her position. And if I am remembering correctly, that would have been before she got big in the streaming space, which would mean she has been playing (anonymously/off-stream) in some capacity since like, the HW days, possibly even earlier

IIRC she said she was a Monk main, though I also have vague recollections of a more recent clip where she said she plays Sage, so it seems like it's always been 'in the background' of her life, she just doesn't put as many total hours into it (probably due to a combo of 'illness gets in the way sometimes' and 'lots of other projects in the works')

Everyone seems to love the collaboration with Chrissy Costanza (Give It All, M4's theme) or Tom Morello (Everything Burns, M12's theme), I don't see how a similar situation (IE she sings for one specific song) with her would be much different for anyone besides the 'she is a VTuber I HATE VTubers' crowd

There's nothing wrong with it, I dont watch vtubers, cept that 1 stint where youtube shorts was feeding me Shylily clip (shes hilarious) and the small warfs of people that pass by my current in my sector of the internet like GuraGura (aware of but dont watch)

It just like abit out of the blue, but its just surprise but not dislike. They've done out of the blue things that was cool. (Id like another InsertCoin jacket collab) Xiv cooked many times, so I await to see what ironmouse cooks up

I'll be honest, I could only listen to about a minute of that. Her voice is very unpleasant to my ear, though she can clearly carry a tune. Perhaps it's the sound mixing.

Oh no! It's not that have to like her "or else..." lol. It's perfectly fine to dislike her singing, and you're being more than fair/reasonable just by giving the video some of your time and a chance. It's more about some people getting really weird about her participation in Fanfest specifically.

Welllll...Now I care a bit, since I am going to Fanfest and shall hope she sounds better there if she sings! But otherwise, yeah, I agree, people are making a very big mountain out of a molehill here.

Well, you may like her more in this song instead. The music style is different. If this one doesn't win you over at all, then it's alright xD

I can easily imagine this over a raid fight, and I personally think it'd work really well, but I can also see why not everyone would be into her type of singing.

That was better! I think that style suits her voice better, and I agree, I could hear that kind of song in a raid fight. Thanks for taking the time to post some links.
