Every OTHER REGION has DC travel BUT MATERIA and we have 5 underpopulated servers to draw from where the others have soon to be 32 in NA, already 32 in Japan and soon to be 24 in the EU. It's not getting better it's getting worse. It's not unreasonable to have DC travel just like everyone else. This regional excuse needs to go.

It blows having to wait forever for a queue to pop.its like active for a like a couple of hours in the evening but then it feels like the people there are from other DC make of the majority of pop. I think Seraph is the only server that is full. The 3 are pretty empty. The MB sucks. It shouldn't be like that, I shouldn't have to travel to another DC, wait for the travel time, log in, do my roulettes, and leave because I can't access my retainer. its stupid.

Sure, Cross-region DC travel finally being added to the game might not fix Materia's queues cause too many people will travel elsewhere. In the beginning of Cross-region DC travel that will almost certainly be the case. However, there is a chance that as more people move to Materia, they eventually enough of them, out of convenience or otherwise, will also queue for and do content on Materia itself, because of Ping and other advantages. Above post, essentially. The ability to leave the data center temporarily allows you to return to it some of the time. The inability to leave the data center temporarily can mean you need to leave it forever.
So you can do things on the other data centers such as statics or what the data center doesn't have the activity for yet.
There are those who will always queue on the data center itself such as newer players and slowly build up the activity so that people stop traveling off-world to get duty pops. -

Why are you arguing against something that can HELP OCE server traffic? Why are you arguing against an option that will boost server traffic in both directions?.

I got a friend on Balmung who's in NZ. She refuses to move to Materia. Friends and such. On top of the relatively low overall population, the number that will actually move is even smaller.
It's unfortunate, but I saw this coming when they announced it. They would never inconvenience the JP community by moving a JP server to the Aussie datacenter. -

I think the most likely to succeed solution is actually move the DC from Sydney to somewhere in SEA. Part of the problem is the SEA people didn't move to materia in any great numbers. If a way was found to combine the SEA and OCE populations on one DC it might well be viable.
Barring that DC travel is the only option.
