Endwalker is the most controversial expansion

The more I think about it, the more it makes me think of Mass Effect 3. The finale to a popular and widely-loved series, had a good start, then dropped the ball and never really found it again, and while there were some good parts, overall it stumbles to an ending with holes you could throw a thresher maw through.

Heck, both even have a flat, boring, invincible antagonist with an edgy-wannabe design who tries to act like he's your big evil rival despite having minimal real effect on the plot. (It says a lot about my opinions on Zenos when the most positive comparison I can make is "At least he's not Kai Leng", but.....)

Especially since Elidibus can summon other WoLs, so all he had to do is tether our other reflections to us so the echo can remember that time. Appearance could be poked fun at by Hyth that Azem was fiddling with glamour magicks again, it almost writes itself.

Or they could make the player completely invisible to the ancients and degrade him to a pure observer. This would also not mess up anything.

I still love this mentality. You are not the majority just cause you cry the loudest. Most of the playerbase is actually happy with the game and just enjoys what the devs serve and yes this means also the removal of kaiten etc.

Even if you would take all people together who cry on the forums, twitter and reddit and whatnot...it wouldn't even be 1% of the actual playerbase who doesn't give a kupo about you getting disappointed and spilling out your personal preferences all over the internet. It's alright to be disappointed, i was also a lot of times disappointed with some decisions...(looking at you HW machinist)...but to think that the "community" is outraged (at any point) is just being delusional beyond measure. And on top really arrogant.

The "community" is never outraged. Less than 1% is outraged on social media maybe. And if you are so sure that you fellas are the righteous majority, then cancel your sub and we will see if SE will notice it, cause that is where it hurts them. If enough players decide to just shut down the flow of money but you aren't doing this cause maybe you are way too much into the game and even if we put all people on the forums together and say they cancel all their subs, wouldn't even be a bug bite for SE.

I'm very curious what you're basing the bolded on, since you've admitted reddit and Twitter, the usual sources of gushing adulation for this game, are just a tiny minority. Do you have insight into this that the rest of us don't? What might that be?

More like "some dude on the forums crying." Pretty much everywhere else you look EW is being praised and enjoyed, even with the issues that it has had. I also still find it rather hilarious that many people here are comparing full expansions with an expansion we literally haven't even reached the X.15 of.

But, but , but SB was good overall!!! Yeah, SB eventually got good after we had a full expansion cycle for it to redeem itself after it's terrible release state.

And now for the disclaimer because I know some of the forum diehards are already slamming the Reply button: No, EW is not perfect and yes it has had issues, some wounds of which are absolutely dev self inflicted. And Yes, I know you're personally not happy with the jobs, balance, difficulty, story, developers, community, etc. We all know you do, you make it obvious every single day. The vast majority of players (YOU OBVIOUSLY NOT INCLUDED) are happy with EW.

How about you and the rest who are still playing the game (while being so unhappy), not protesting at all? I can't see a decline in any way regarding the playerbase of XIV nor it's scores from critics and players alike on sites like metacritic.

If people would be really unhappy, if you would be so unhappy with the game you would unsubscribe but you don't. And that says a lot about these people in my opinion, a lot of tears and morals but no spine to actually take action.

We just lack the intellectual capacity and are not cultured enough to appreciate the nuance and genius of a literary work such as Endwalker. Maybe if we watched more anime, we'd finally understand...
