I mean you can see the results of that in the current WoW design, for all their changes and "we were wrong, we changed" dev speeches nothing they ve changed actually benefits the average casual player, they are still given scraps and will keep getting scraps in the next xpac as well.

Simply because the devs have the mentality of "we have to treat raiders as speshiul" meaning no matter what they do, they cant give good things to casuals else their precious raiders will complain.

That is what happens when they listen to the loud screams of the forums and ignore the silent droves of people leaving which is why I am happy to see Yoshida doesnt just focus on whatever thing the forums scream about and cares for casual players who are not gonna bother argue or type in forums cuz they have better things to do.

This is a huge point that doesn't really get much consideration.
Is FF14 perfect? No. Should players speak their minds and give mature, constructive feedback? Yes.
The issue is that a large portion of the negative "feedback" here boils down to "I don't like it therefore it's bad." There's a massive difference between not liking something and something being bad, but that seems to get lost on a lot of people here.

As someone who has played XIV since Phase 3 in 2.0, WoW in 2020 both Classic and Retail...
I have to say I can honestly feel how WoW vets feel as an XIV vet.
In that case, Classic is a far more better experience than Retail.
Kinda reminds me how much fun I had in HW.

This game is going down a path I really hope Yoshi can see before it's too late.
I know he said he took a lot of inspiration of WoW, but DON'T try and be like them 100%
and start treating your players like idiots and ignoring them.

Drk players had been asking for a LD change for years,which was an objectively badly designed ability and it didn’t get changed until now. So i’m not sure your logic follows. Also….if they aren’t going to give healers more dps options, then they can at least make fights his harder so we have to heal more, but they can’t even do that and instead most fights this expansion compared to others are healed far easier than ever before. Please stop with this ignorance.

Oh I'm not ignorant. I do more content than you and it's not what I'm seeing but keep pushing your agenda. Healers need to heal in the duties I'm in including myself.

Bottom line is the development team isn't listening to the dps centric healer community. They've been asking for more of that for years and it's not happening it appears. Keep trying though.

At least we're seeing some positivity in the hairstyle department for Viera finally. One can hope we'll get to see some attention put towards at least some headgear as we move forward.

I'm not really sure I fit into that category :rolleyes:

The biggest fundamental problem with the healer role right now is that we can expect to spend an absurd proportion of our GCD pressing 1 button over and over again. I'm far from some green DPS wannabe. My logs are trash and I couldn't care less about them. Yet I'm spending 70%+ of my time in savage pressing one button over and over again. Drop down to more casual content such as the current 24 man and it's far worse still. I've got a log there where I didn't even bother casting regen once because it just wasn't needed. That breaks my heart.

Go ask proper veteran healer mains that have raided from BCOB onwards and ask them what their favourite boss is. I guarantee you that fights such as Living Liquid and Kefka will be consistent answers. Why? They aren't fights that we get to spam endless DPS on. No, not at all. Rather they were challenging to heal. They forced us to actually heal and they had huge amounts of potential for optimisation and teamwork with your cohealer beyond simply mapping out a spreadsheet of your oGCDs. Remember when you couldn't just let your tank drop for fear of the boss criting them? Remember when Clown Kefka would transition to the next floor and then promptly stamp your tank to death in a matter of seconds whilst you weren't paying attention? Remember when you had to pick a tank each so that you wouldn't both GCD heal the same tank whilst the other dropped dead before you could react? Even the very first fight of BCOB required exactly this back when it was relevant, and yet here we are now where even simply maintaining regen on a tank in savage is typically a waste as they can heal themselves through most of the auto attack damage just fine.

Spoiler alert, it's not the healer community that's pushing this DPS centric focus.

We've asked for fights to have more healing like they used to back in the day. Yoshida very specifically said no.

Personally, I want more healing but frankly, I'll take anything I can get at this point as long as it doesn't involve pressing the same single button well north of 100 times per fight. I want to triage like I did in WoW PvP. I want to be pushed and tested. Right now the only way I can do that is to dilute everything I do down into more and more glare casts and I hate it.
