Please learn how to tank. Unless you also want to say that dps increasing buffs aren't a necessity, that healing-increasing cooldowns aren't a necessity, or that literally anything outside of the basic 123 combo isn't necessary.
You don't have cooldowns just to bloat your bar with buttons.
Mmm, The Aurum Vale. One of my favorite dungeons because it is severely punishing to those who underestimate it. Even the music sounds like a theme you'd hear in hell.
It doesn't matter if players are in shire gear. You'll have the maximum allowed stats, but this won't save anyone who ignored the mechanics here. It also conveniently syncs players to one level before obtaining the lv50 skills that would make bigger pulls Herr possible. Those who pull more than two packs get an extremely rude awakening.
The devs knew what they were doing with this instance. It's there to separate the men from the boys. Don't get discouraged though. That dungeon is a doozy for healers.
idk, you say this isnt a healerr dps thread but literally the exact words you post in this thread can be boiled down to "Tanks please use CDs so i can dps more". literally. this is 100% about healer dps. dont try to mask it.
That being said. tanks who dont use CDs are bad, obviously. But...i...like...healing bad tanks. its fun. it makes me work. it makes me have to focus on healing..focus on the job i am (healer). so its fun, id rather have a bad tank who makes the run more enjoyable than to have a perfect tank where i can watch TV during the dungeon and still dps and heal and he doesnt even come out with a scratch.
its just more fun to me. so, meh. i dont care what a tank does when i heal, either way its either boring or its fun
As a DK I sometimes do it when I'm worried I may have pulled too much for my team to deal with and my hp is going down fast. Other times I just derp and accidentally press it because I have it on a key that's extremely easy to reach for just in case I need to do it asap.
HUGE fan of Aurum Vale. I love it when I get it as a daily. The general consensus is that it's hell on earth, but I find it fun. Nowadays it's usually with a team of new players too, and it's cool helping them through it.
Sounds very much like a old school meta complaint.
<Role>, please use <action/s> when <specific situation>.
Nothing new. Carry on.
I use them as and when needed.
I personally hate tanks that use them when not needed or at the wrong times
for example if you're down to 25k hp losing roughly 1k a second and the current pull will be dead in 15 seconds It's not worth using a cooldown at all. the pack will be dead before you are.. and the passive regen between pulls mean you wont even need much healing. especially if im on scholar my cos you won't even stress my fairy.. if the dps is a bit naff and the pull gonna take 35-40 seconds then sure use a cool down..
I also hate tanks that use them in the wrong order. the tank that makes a big ass pull pops rampart, wears off then pops sentinel when half the pack is dead and the incoming damage is much lower.... or convalaescance / hallowed ground when there only 2 mobs left.... WTF????
If I don't use a cooldown it's because I don't think I need one. or I have none available due to the previous encounter being stretched out for whatever reason.
if you need cooldowns on baby pulls there's something wrong cos those pulls should be dead long before they get your hp down to a remotely dangerous level
Every tank should tank the exact same way. Letter for letter, click for click.
Every healer should heal in the exact same way, letter for litter, click for click
Every dps should play in the exact same way, letter for letter, click for click.
That will make the game... less boring?
Should we perform badly just for the sake of variety, then?
Note that OP isn't asking for tanks to use them in any specific order or how to stack or not stack them and whatnot - they're asking that tanks simply USE them.
Their role is to get punched in the gut several times until the rest of the team manages to kill the offender, it's common sense that they'd try to make the hits hurt less, no?
and if i want to use
Low Blow, Interject, Provoke, Ultimatum and Shirk on my DRK?
defensive cooldowns are optional v.v/
