Anima Weapon Gil Cost

It's nerf or nothin... ... Literally. Hopin it gets nerfed to either 1 or 2 later at some point. Not droppin that much gil, I don't care if it becomes ilvl9001 cuz we all know a couple days after an ilvl 9002 weapon gonna be released. If anything this relic gonna end up as something I get when the questlog for it finishes again just for glamor. This is assuming I'm still playing, and friends are.

I'm not sure why people look at 800 alex normal runs and be like "Oh wow, that is too much...that will take me so much time..."

Then see it might cost them 4-8 million gil and be like "OMG, I'll never be able to do that!!"

Cause I had those reactions too, but reversed.

Anyone can make money in this game. Even the most casual market board seller will earn 8mil gil in a much shorter amount of time than 800 alex runs I would hope...

Because they realize it is not 800 Alex runs. It is only 621 runs if you do Alex exclusively, but you don't even have to do any Alex runs. Heck I got my Unidentifieds over 13 days of play without touching Alex once through a combination of Beastribes dailies, Roulettes, Dungeons, and helping people through First time 2.X content.

On the other hand a fair number do not understand how to save/make gil and are surprised by people maintaining more than 500k.

Didn't buy a thing. All gatherers are lvl 60 and I was sitting on a bunch of Diadem mats because I'm a hoarder. Made what I could with my specialty classes and simply did some trades with the other specialty classes. It's also nice to be social in a MMO and make friends, gave mats to a couple buddies and they make for free, in turn I do the same for them. My rule of thumb for strangers asking me to make the items is, if you give me all the required mats for the craft (CRP mats has to be HQ since it's not very geared), I'll do it for free. Don't really care about tips or you can simply 'pay it forward'.

If only everyone was like you this would be a much better game. Seems most people just quit when confronted with any kind of challenging content, instead of just finding a way to make it happen :(

These are the people that wouldn't have made it past lvl 20 in ffxi.

On Malboro, the HQ items go between 515k each (player sold via trade, not MB) and 800k on MB. If you take the max value, you're looking at 12.8 mil here. I never keep more than 500k, so I had began to slow down progress on the Anima, because the HQ items will be my brick wall. Hopefully, they drop in price, as many people are now beginning to get the Anima, or have crafters in their FC who's doing it for free.

I usually end up getting a relic (or multiple relics) done quick because I'm a solo player, unfortunately. However, I can't afford the HQ items for this one, so I might be late to the game this round.

Crafting was always a huge part of FFXIV, so no surprise that crafting is part of the relic quest.

And I also didn't want to waste Gil on the relic items, so my (2) friends and I splitted the crafting specialisation between us. My specialisations are LTW, WVR and CRP. A bonus for us was that we all had at least one gatherer at max. level. So we gathered all materials, crafted the relic items and only had to pay for some melds needed to hit the requirements with buff food.
16 items for 200k Gil max.

There are always alternatives to get the items. Don't get stuck with the idea that you have to buy them.

I don't think people are mad about the fact crafts are included in the relic quest, but are mad at the crazy markup most of the "greedy crafters" are selling them for on the English servers. None of the the components are crazy hard to get as you pointed out (unlike the Zodiacs which required Big Fish and desyned mats. The crafted items that required those cost around 100k during their heyday on most servers). Few would be complaining if they were selling for 50k to 100k on the MB, but as people are pointing out they are being sold for 10 to 20 times as much.

I made 2 of them myself and the other two I got someone to make for me, no charge, but I did give a tip just to be nice.

Really it's not difficult to just be social and get someone to make it for you. Even if it does cost you a little it's always less than buying it outright, people who spend millions on these honestly super easy to make items have no one to blame but themselves.

The buyers are more to blame for the high prices than the sellers.

If they didn't sell for high prices, the cost would plummet very quickly. As I stated anyone complaining about prices should go get the mats themselves as it's not hard, and if you don't have a gatherer well time to get one.
