Have you ever talked to a person with no gaming experience about FFXIV?

Sadly no funny stories.. my mother is rather boring but I tell her about stuff all the time. Only fair as she makes me sit through her little stories and rants.

Though what is funny is my two year old when I'm playing the game. <3

This thread makes me a little sad that I have been yammering to my boyfriend about MMOs for so long that he no longer gets amusingly confused by it. Gawd I feel so old.

I was once on Skype chatting to agent whilst also playing XIV and didn't realise she was still connected.
I was saying quite loudly "kill the guy on the left first followed by the guy on right then start beating on one in the middle"
Dogs will come out so just kill them then back to first guy
(I was ofc explaining sastasha boss on vent to a new guy who has started the game but forgot Skype was connected.

My sister was showing our parents our FC house in Lavander Beds.
We own Plot 9.
My mother's response to it.
"It's a terrible location. You'll have too much humidity so close to the waterfall. Also, where is the swimming pool?"

My father's response to it.
"Oh, it looks nice! Great view!"

My boyfriend walks in while i'm in a dungeon
Him: What are you doing?
Me: Oh just healing a dungeon
Him: Healing? Why are you healing?
Me: So no one dies
Him: What are the other people doing?
Me: Those 2 are killing the monsters, and that one is the tank, making sure monsters only attack him.
Him: So what you're saying is you have the dumbest job
Me: ... i think it's pretty fun
Him: Why don't you do something ACTUALLY cool, be a tank he looks pretty badass
Me: I don't like playing tank, D:
Him: boooooriiiiing *leaves*
