As a player with no max. level job, this happened to me, luckily outside of dungeons, on both the 50er jobs RDM + SAM. Precisely because I didn't have anything better at hand, and it looks really out of place ^^. I don't know the GNB's history but I guess if they had had other max level jobs (or tank(s)), some higher ilevel belt should have been possible by whatever means possible.Quote:

Haven't really had an encounter worth sharing for awhile, thought this was a funny conversation. Just got out of a Holminster Switch while leveling my samurai. The tank and healer couldn't handle big pulls at all. We wiped twice on the pulls inbetween first to second boss.

For context this healer was trying to do DPS to make up for the supposed lack of damage, and wasn't healing the tank, who wasn't using CD properly, who was dying almost instantaneously. The healer left immediately after they stood in aoe and died, to a small pull by the way, and the tank followed right after. Both me and the other DPS (machinist) were using AOE on mobs, and we killed the first boss quick. They were actually better than me. -

The Samurai demands that i stand still so the boss doesn't turn or move.
If i move to do mechanics the Samurai gets mad at me for moving the boss.
If i stay still to ensure the boss stays put i die and then everyone gets mad at me.
I can't both move and stay still at the same time, and both ways lead to people raging at me.
What am i supposed to do? -

So I just like whatever, picked them for the lucky charms and gave it to the NIN. I got it to 80 and won't have to touch it for another two years. And everyone leveling tank can rest easy that I won't be on AST anymore.

Someone in Bardam's Mettle, during the second boss, ran their AoE over me because they wanted to see me chained up. That was weird.
More recently, I had a tank take almost 60,000 damage in the span of a single GCD and instantly die because they stood in an avoidable AoE, got a nasty DoT, and then got hit by several other things at once. The general consensus was that it wasn't my fault, but I didn't notice the DoT (because hardly anyone gets hit by it, so it didn't really register), and had I paid more attention, I probably could've saved the tank.
My last story consists of three words: Comcast outage map (mostly me. Help.) -

I am not talking about parties. Lately they have been expected to above average.
I am talking about actual DR itself.
DR 50/60/70: I have gotten Stone Vigil (Hard) three times, Thok-Ast-Thok (Hard) once, Aetherochemical Research Facility once, and The Lost City of Amdapor (Hard) once.
Trial Roulette: Battle on the Big Bridge (first one)
I haven't gotten these dungeons in DR in almost two years. Thok-Ast-Thok (Hard) I have never gotten through DR, just me signing up to complete it. I didn't know you could even get Battle on the Big Bridge through Trial Roulette.
Well, thanks for all the newbies giving me those dungeons to do again. Nothing like wiping on the first boss to Thok-Ast-Thok (Hard) because us non-new timers remember anything about this dungeon.
Things are all right with the world though. Yesterday I got Titan (Hard) and Keeper of the Lake... so I am back into what I consider the "normal roulette." -

Well I just did a run with the "Sloppy" dude.
DNC had tunnel vision the entire time.
LolDRG had even more tunnel vision the entire time by standing in aoes relying on EJ to do anything and still get hit lmao.
Tank was solid.
Very end, got chained, they didn't turn around and bother to help me and I died.
No apologies, no nothing not even a comm for my death lol. At least the tank tried to save me but it was too late.
I mean, if I mess up and kill someone on accident like that, I apologise at least...Rude.
If you're a DNC and you have tunnel vision, shame on you...
I guess the DRG gets a free pass since a lot of them do this.
Not a big complaint but please pay attention to mechanics ffs...at level 60 no less.

I just love doing Qitana Ravel with a tank who does single pulls, an afk dps (during boss pull not trash pulls), a healer who doesn't do damage BUT if the tank loses 3% health DROP EVERYTHING THEY HAVE ON THEM. I'm over here about to die of old age..
When I say single pulls, I'm talking one enemy at a time single pulls. -

I didn't examine their gear, but they were wearing something that could have been the same left side in your screenshot. Makes a lot of sense if it was the same one. It wasn't just the healer, though, since whole experience was a circus. The player with tether was running in a big circle around the pack asking for help in party chat too. Working on leveling up my SMN. Lets do Mt. Gulg in PF for the first time.
Got tank (dont remember what), Monk, White mage and me, off we go.
Tank pulls small - whatever - then mob before the first boss takes longer than normal. Then I notice there are only 3 of us. The Tank bailed on us? We ponder what to do.
We wait for a bit, no new tank (meanwhile I'm asking in FC chat if anyone is available). Healer says lets go so three of us take on the first boss. Takes a while but the three of us manage burn him down.
A tank shows up from my FC, Gungnir, greetings exchanged and off we go.
Gungir proceeds to pull everything wall to wall for the next mob set, which we promptly kill.
WHM: now THATS a tank.
WHM: gj
We then roll through the rest dungeon with no problems. At the end:
WHM: ty last guy that left was doing single pulls.
MNK: ty for being a good DRK.
Got my clear, got level 80, got help from FC, everyone happy.

More baffled than upset, I inspect the dude... and he's wearing gear that would have been outdated at the end of ARR. All normal-quality Lv50 stuff.
So uh... I like sprouts. I like helping people who are new to the game. That is the SOLE reason I didn't instantly try and kick this guy. He should have been getting gear left and right from past dungeons and the MSQ stuff, and he just... decided not to equip it.
The SCH is a trooper, says that we'll press on anyway after I put my unfortunate discovery into party chat. Queue the most painful run of Sirensong Sea ever: The RDM and I constantly ripping aggro off the severely undergeared tank (EVEN THOUGH HE HAD TANK STANCE ON), and us tanking the bosses more often than the DRK because their untelegraphed tankbusters would INSTANTLY kill him.
After a series of long, painful pulls and countless deaths, we clear. The tank says "GG" and leaves.
...
NO. NO, NO, NO. THIS IS NOT "GG". THAT WAS A FREAKING TRAVESTY. PLEASE, PLEASE UPGRADE YOUR GEAR! FOR OUR SAKES, AND THE SAKE OF EVERYONE ELSE IN YOUR PARTY! YOUR DPSES TANKING FOR YOU IS NOT OKAY. -

Notice the gnb has just 1k more life then my sam, the dnc was low too... checked since they had the same last name and both D... they filled the gabs of what the job dont hands you for free with lv 1 garbage and some random lv 30-40 drops. LIKE OMG WHY???
I just left as my day was bed enough and i wont carrie them. We REALLY need min. Ilvl for all dungeons and yes i hate it but PLS add a full gear set to the jobs... i cant stand that lazyness..

Leveling up PLD via roulettes I got Rabanastre. I main tank the first 2 bosses, my healers are busy eating glue so I regularly have to clemency but I honestly don’t care. We get to Rofocale and suddenly the WAR thinks he is main tanking? He pulls off me 2 or 3 times until I’m just fed up and let him have it. Rofocale gave that WAR the what-for with “crush helm” on his unprepared idiot tank self and rekt him. I pick the boss back up and laugh to myself as I trample over that guys corpse.

Today was my off day.
First Aurum Vale where the tank died in the first room because I forgot that I didn't have Benediction there. Stupid mistake, usually doesn't happen as I know well which skills I have for which dungeon. The rest went okayish on my part but I still made some mistakes like continueing with Holy when there was only one mob left or healing super late because...idk... spacing out? And I ate the Glower from the Coincounter, followed by Eye of the Beholder. That ..doesn't usually happen. Not even when others have debuffs to dispell or need healing. Didn't die but still. Oof.
Next was Baelsars Wall, some people twitched with the Extreme Caution debuff and of course got slammed into the ground. I could've easily salvaged it if I had reacted sooner, instead we wiped. Though two people failed the mechanic I still hate it when I know I could've easily avoided the wipe but didn't react.
And then there was Susano, where I didn't pay enough attention to see the three puddles neatly stacked right under my butt between all the shiny effects in time to run out - SPLAT. Instant death. Susano's telegraphs are the epitome of "IN YOUR FACE" and next to impossible to miss, but I managed. The rest was okay but my pride definitely took a knock with that instant death.
And last was Shisui, where the tank died during the first pull because I forgot to lock my hotbars, accidentally switched skills and...well... Benediction wasn't where it's supposed to be. Nor Tetra. I had about two seconds to panic and then SPLAT.
Tank and I went in as a premade. A lot of random Tanks make far more and worse mistakes than what I did but with his gameplay being on point and mine somewhere between "headless chicken" and "turret", I felt even worse for all my fails. -

Reset day. Queue for all the Edens, I just need pants. First two runs, I'm on SCH and my co-healer was also a SCH. We were pretty much in sync and kept overwriting each other's stuff. Got annoyed so I switched to WHM. Guess what class my co-healer was. WHM! Last run too. At least WHM's spells stack. And I did a 92k Misery. That was nice.
Decided to run my roulette as WHM for tomes. Nothing too crazy. Got Holminster for leveling. They were at the first boss gate. Said the last healer had a 290 book. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and said they probably didn't touch it in two years. They said there other gear was good and was like, yea. I ran a couple roulette as a AST with a 310 Globe and 400 everything else. Nothing relevant, but still it's easy to not notice. For the record my SCH and WHM both had 400 weapons going into ShB and didn't look at my AST until I hit 71. -

Got The Burn and the usual suspect Mist Dragon causing trouble. The healer was new so struggled to keep up with the healing and walked in to literally every aoe and attacked the boss in mist form, resulting in a lot of rescues from ice blocks. The fun part was the BLM was also new and throughout the entire dungeon you could tell they only just played the job for the first time, rarely any Eno uptime, too many Fire I/Blizzard I casts and slow to react to mechs. Of course they didn't have the New Adventurer icon or anything and I really did think they were a bot for a most of it but it wasn't till the first words they muttered after we wiped for the second time on Mist Dragon, "lol not the best dungeon to learn how to play BLM". So those two, trying to survive on PLD Clemency and the SMN doing their best to Raise the constant dead it took nearly 50mins till we got out, so yeah that was fun....
