If this is how it actually plays out and having 31 det materia infused only gives you 22 determination, I will be incredibly disappointed. The other 110 weapons can have 31 crit and 31 det, but novus would be forced into having 22 det and 44 crit. That is just a punch to the teeth and not in the spirit of true stat customization. I'd rather have to infuse more determination materia and get 31 determination than be pigeon-holed into an inferior stat setup.

like, what about i fuse until Grade III is full and instead of investing in expensive Grade IV Materias for a +1 anyway, why not buiding up a third or forth stat where i can use Grade I ...

I was planing maybe on CRIT+SS and by this system, i could mix in some ACC for Coil ... and saving lot´s of gil for not buying Grade IVs

This is exactly what I've decided to do, not only because its cheaper but for a BRD it just makes sense. I'm going to take Crit up right until I need level 4's to enhance, and then some combo of ACC and DET. Probably 2 to 2, just have to see what they cap at before needing to move to the next tier.

Also, it will be nice to actually determine the outcome of your weapon. I don't care if my set-up isn't the super elite bestest combo of points ever. Who cares about "messing up". These are secondary stats anyway, and the correct way of slotting them all depends on what other gear you can get/plan on getting anyway. I think some people are worried too much about "messing up" (not you, in particular) and over-looking the fact that this is one of the first things we have been able to truly customize in this game to the way we want.

Just have fun with it!

I really hope when SE creates a reset system for this part of the quest, that its not a situation where you erase the stats, and have to do the farming/buying all over again. Otherwise I see a lot of potential people in this thread being upset later on down the road.

If a scroll has been fully infused and applied to weapon, it's currently permanent but a later patch will allow a new scroll to be used to change parameters. That is, you don't have to first remove the current stats.
This is inferred from that you just need 3 inks to buy a scroll.
Even if you first have to clear the current stats, you could fully infuse the new scroll before doing that and applying new scroll.

If a scroll has not been applied yet you can remove the infusions at the NPC that sells the scrolls. It's likely about removing all infusions like how you can remove melds from equipment.

Simply respeccing after the fact is not likely to ever come, as it would then be easy to just infuse materia I and II and then respec as if you were infusing materia III and IV.

You're also not likely ever getting the materia and/or alexandrites back after a successful infusion.

Don't worry because it won't be like that. If you look at 2.28 patch notes it shows the Gae Bolg Animus with +44/+31 stats, Yes it isn't DET as the other poster said. But why would they allow us to infuse 31/44 and then take away? So until proven otherwise its 31/44 unless you split them up.

Most likely it'll be determined based on which maximum stat you get first. Say you max det to 31 first, when finished, you'll have 31 crit but if you max crit to 44 first, when finished, you'll have 22 det.

Because determination is always weighted more? That's why on all gear of the same ilevel, you'll never find higher determination cap than the other stats caps.

Infuse 19 Savage Might Grade III on Sphere Scroll: Stardust Rod. Chance 88% Result: +1 Det
Infuse 20 will rquire Savage Might Grade III

I still don't think it would have a lower cap than 31. I'll go jump on the game and check but I'm pretty sure on Sphere Scroll it says 0/31 for DET. So if they were to cap DET why would it say0/31 and not something like 0/22? We'll find out soon enough anyways since Shea is about to be on meld #20 for DET.
