Sometimes, due to a number of reasons (bad internet, staying awake for days, or simply being "off"), I repeatedly make mistakes that normally wouldn't have happened. During those times, if the feeling of guilt is great enough, I left the party instead of being a burden.
The weird thing is, I'd feel even more guilty if the party says they're fine with it. Maybe those guys have a similar mindset.

Yesterday i had a 30+ minute long Sirensong Sea run because i (WHM) was doing more damage than the two dps. "How do i know that?" you might ask... DNC was single targeting all mobs. SMN wasn't entirely aware that she even existed, i think. It took her the first 5 minutes of just kind of spacing out to realize that she had no summon out, in that time she was individually trying to apply dots to each and every mob instead of using bane. For half of pulls she just stood there while she chose a target to start on, barely got out a couple outbursts before i had holy'd all the mobs to death. Oh and she didn't remember ruin 3 until about 2/3rds of the way through the place, and she used physick on herself every time she was below 85% health until she was full health.

I'm sure the dancer was doing other questionable things, but i was really just fixated on this SMN. I did notice that the DNC would reapply the dance partner buff to the tank before every boss pull, and i'm pretty sure she was only using standard step once per fight.

I would have bailed but i really just needed my leveling roulette out of the way.

Interesting story I think.

I was doing Titania for MSQ using a Duty Finder with a friend. We're both DPS. We had watched a video so knew what to expect.

We failed twice on the DPS phase, wasn't that close. Tanks and healers were pissed telling all DPS that we were crap, and they ended all 4 of them leaving. So here we are 4 lonely DPS alone in the Titania trial, then a tank joined, and 2 healer. While we still waiting for the 2nd tank. The other tank pulls and we start the fight, just before the DPS phase the 2nd tank joins in.

So here comes the DPS phase, where 2 tanks and 2 healers quit because the DPS sucked...we nailed it, completing it and it wasn't even close. It was super easy, and we completed the trial with no issue.

I guess the problem wasn't only the 4 DPS. :)

So I registered my forum account just to vent about something that took place yesterday in Heaven on High. I was on my last run to hit 70 on red mage when I get 2 dancers and a gunbreaker in my party. Right off the bat I notice neither of them are using their dances, at all, or picking dance partners. I give it a couple floors, maybe they forgot? Nada. Finally I ask them if they could please dance and pick partners to speed the run up a bit and they tell me they are saving it for the final boss. ????. I explain that the dance has a super short cd and does a ton of damage, and picking a partner is a permanent buff. "You don't pay my sub". I didn't actually think people said that unironically. Legitimately the laziest crap I've witnessed the whole time playing this game and I was so thankful to be done with Heaven on High after that.

I am seriously sick of healers just spaming Physick and Cure in EXPERT dungeons. I haven't even taken a single point of damage and they begin to spam it. Even after I reminded them they could speed up the run by doing damage, I haven't seen a single Broil until the last trash mob was at ~5%. Did you ever consider that you have ~20 other buttons in your toolkit? I'm not even sure I saw an Aetherflow stack or not... Now pair that with really subpar DPS DNC and you have 10+ min until the first boss goes down after this performance. That day I learned that this boss worm in Amaurot goes to the centre for a 3rd meteor. The more you know...

I had a run of Amaurot last night where the SCH spamed Physick on their partner GNB (same last name) and would either let me and the other SAM die to unavoidable AoE or was too late to heal us. Or Indom was on CD. She used Broil and Adlo a few times but they were few and far between. And not a single Art of War. We wiped on the final boss 3 times because she would stand in one spot to heal the GNB and ignore us DPS. It was maddening. I only have so much self-sustain.

^ Tank and healer couples are legit the worst people to deal with. "My heals are only for my boyfriend. Just avoid the aoes, sweaty"

My first time doing Twinning, we wiped 4 times to the final boss who basically just spams very long telegraphed aoe lines. I didn't get salty but I kind of mentally face-palmed because it was the first time I've had multiple wipes since the new expac--we didn't even wipe for my first run of the final trial. This makes my decision to do 50/60/70 for tomes feel like the right decision.

H-how? I mean, I can imagine one time walking into the AoE (I did it on purpose at like 2% just to see what it did as a healer. Not the smartest idea, but...2%) but what else would wipe it?

Got Gubal Library normal mode the other day. Tank goes in pulls the first two birds and I start DPSing. I notice the tank is taking a lot of damage for just two enemies. Check their gear and this is what they're rocking:

I assume Jump potion alt shenanigans but It all went fine. They pulled small and the DPS were good... However they didn't roll for any of the accessories that dropped for them... I feel bad for whoever gets them in higher level content.

Did you say anything in party chat? I would assume one of two things happened here.

A. They queued in wearing an RP set and forgot to change into their actual armor. (It's emberassing to say but I've done this before.)
B. They're just trolling.

About midway through I notice a little new leaf run away from the group with a group up marker on them. We chase after them, so they live, but I gave them a friendly headsup in chat, thinking it was the first time they'd seen that marker.

First time it was poor positioning. Second and third times the healer died. Last time I don't even know. I think we were all new. I got caught a couple times but usually I was the last one standing. Seething. I think I might wait to do Expert when some new dungeons come out or something.

That's the gear you get when you unlock Gunbreaker - in the chest they received. So they may have thought it was all they needed?

Which you could forgive if he was wholeheartedly new. But he has a 70 arcanist and 70 ast. Even if those two were bought with jump boost, thats still two jobs he had to grind to 70.

The mentality of "I'm just gonna level this with whatever I got till the next level tier" has got to stop.

The new job boosts jump you up to 70 now, not 60 like in Stormblood. If they bought them in the last couple of weeks, they could have boosted the two jobs just to get GNB. They still should have taken the time to notice that they barely had anything equipped, of course, since the job boosts also provide accessories and their GNB gearset would look suspiciously empty.

Edit: that's also just one job boost, since it's SCH and SMN unlocked; I'm fairly certain they boosted that one just to unlock GNB or something.

Does he know he's playing an MMO?

Just got out of two parties on an alt in Dusk Vigil. First one was...questionable.

Party comp was DRK, AST, my friend on SMN, and me on DRG. I check the 54 tank first, and he looked semi-decent with ironworks stuff on, which isn't bad. I then make the mistake of looking at the healer...partial ironworks, hero's ring of healing...and a lvl 44 aetherial weapon. Oh boy.

First trash pack the drk doesn't bother to put down Salted Earth (spoodlers: they never did use SE during the entire run), and he just melts. Meanwhile the ast is just hanging in the back for a bit before running up and using ED...and immediately I see them remove Diurnal. Their Benefics would heal our tank for barely anything. After the first pack was dead, I asked if she would turn on a stance. No response. Tank runs up to the next mob and the healer just sits there while the tank almost eats it. My smn friend steps in and starts healing our tank...for more than what the ast was doing earlier. Ast then replies with the simple accidentally turning it off, but it didn't really matter to them. Spoodlers: they really liked riding healing with benefic I and would stand there doing a whole lot of nothing. Oh, maybe draw a few cards here and there and give them to the smn, even though most of the ones she got he really didn't quite truly benefit from. She would oftentimes drop Ewer on the tank or not bother with Redraw, which really didn't make much sense at all to me.

We finally get to the first boss, and since my smn friend had been having to step up and heal the tank since the ast didn't seem to care about healing, it had taken us almost 10 minutes to reach the first boss, and longer than expected to down it. We slowly trudge through the hallway after the first boss and the tank just...kinda starts wandering about looking for coffers. Meanwhile my smn friend and the tank get aggro and the tank doesn't bother to grab them until he realizes it's his job to do so. Meanwhile the ast is still sitting back in the previous hallway, probably trying to Netflix or something. It wasn't until the mobs were almost dead that the ast finally decided to join us and mashes ED, followed by more benefic spam and drops AB on him when the mobs are just about dead.

We down the second boss in much longer than wanting to stand it, and the trip up to the third boss takes a depressingly longer amount of time due to the fact that the smn kept having to help heal the tank, and I can only do so much as drg when it comes to dpsing. Having two people in important roles that really don't care about how to do their job for two other people is just poor sportsmanship. Very, very poor sportsmanship. Especially when others in your party realize you're a jump pot character who didn't really bother to read up on job changes. How do I know this? Healer was a sprout with a 75 healer. Tank I'm giving the benefit of the doubt as their highest was 63 pld, but I'm fairly certain the hours played requirement to lose your sprout status is still bugged.

By the time we get to the final boss, over 30 minutes had passed. Almost all parties I've been in that cared about their roles got here much faster than this, typically 20 minutes or less. The final boss takes almost 8 minutes to burn down. My friend and I pass on loot and just nope out of there. He ended up getting both comms, probably because he did more healing than dpsing, and the two other prepartied members realized it.

To the AST and DRK pair from the same company on Famfrit, please, for the love of Twelve, if you don't care about the role you're on, just queue up as dps and let others that actually want to do the important roles take care of it for you.

Second one went much, much better and smoother than the previous run. To that WHM and DRK that actually knew what they were doing and came prepared and experienced for our second run, you have no idea how awesome you two were, and I very much appreciate it.

I hit 75 on PLD and that means, new gear! Jump into the dungeon, my healer is a SCH. I was like, "Great! I know what they can handle! And pulled what the tank pulled on my very first time running the dungeon. Managed my cool downs and everything. We died. I looked, her gear is iffy, but not too bad. Pulled a pack at a time. It's a little slow, but uneventful. Until the second boss. She and one of the DPS kept getting crushed by the pillars. Eventually they both died. And it was just me and a SAM and the boss was over 60%. The two of us got him down to 18, but I ran out of MP and we died. Rest of the dungeon was uneventful, but still really slow.

Another run, it was WHM, DNC, and DRG. Not taking any risks, I pulled just the first pack. WHM runs up and starts Holying. I was like, "Awesome." Pull all the way to the wall after the first boss, pop Hollowed, WHM does her thing. But stuff is dying slow. The DRG is AoEing. He tethered me, so that's a plus. But wasn't using his new 3-hit AoE combo or his Flame Jump or any jump for that matter.

Third times the charm. I jump in again. I get a really good party. Level up after the second boss and get a new attack that has three charges and restores MP. And I'm just thinking that would've been helpful on my first run. At the Revel gear looks great. The Healing, Maiming, and Fending sets have been my favorite of the expansion so far.

Just now had a Paladin in Mt. Gulg who not only spammed an un-combo'd Prominence but didn't know how to Provoke properly. I wound up tanking several mobs throughout the dungeon and the last boss until she buster'd me. Why did I have aggro? Tank exploded after racking up six vulnerability stacks. I think he may have been new despite having Paladin at level 80. Granted, we tried to show him where to stand... as you've read. That didn't go over well. Was rather funny because he asked to do Innocence after and the MCH straight up said no.

For once, I was actually glad a tank didn't wall to wall pull because I would have been eaten alive ;-;

I mostly wanted to highlight this was someone who didn't use a jump potion since it keeps getting brought up how those are what causes bad or ignorant players.

I can't even finish an extreme run with the amount of rude players I've seen in PF groups. And i have reported about 7 rude and disrespectful players. At this point i just say f**k it, im not doing extreme anymore this expansion.

I have literally had no issue with players being rude in extremes. Not to me, and not to anyone else. The only time I have ever seen someone rude is when someone was running a 444 req gear score thing and someone apparently joined and tried switching to their badly geared alt class or something, and even then I wouldn't really call that rude. I have done both literally dozens of times.

Nowadays, I would agree with you. Sometimes the kick feature needs to be used more, they definitly use it against me. "Difference in playstyle" is a valid reason to kick.

Just started on gnb/dnc myself and I have a full set of augmented shire gear for both. Couldn't imagine being such a noob that I go in wearing gear like that..i mean cmon. There was plenty of time before shb came out to get your lvl60 gear.

I unlocked GNB "just because" the other day on an alt I'm levelling and I hit recommended gear and equipped and my right side was all ranged lvl 50 dex and my belt was lvl 37 fending. Must be the only fending gear I had on that alt. I'm guessing that's the sort of thing happenening....not that I'd run anything with that gear. lol! Maybe squadron dungeons.

My favorite was when I was playing as a SMN, I had what could only be called the most inept tank ever (Pre-SHB changes). He couldn't hold aggro to save his, or any other party members life, so I put away Garuda-Egi, and brought out my Titan-Egi, My Egi tanked the entire duty, including all 3 bosses, the tank actually quit after the 2nd boss, leaving just me (the SMN, the Healer (which I believe may have been an SCH) and the other DPS.. I really don't remember what the other DPS was... ROG/NIN or LNC/DRG I think). My most memorable rant worthy moment, funnily enough, by the end of it, I was so proud of myself for DPS'ing and Tanking at the same time that it didn't bother me, though I did share the encounter with my FC of the time after the duty concluded.

Queued up for AR roulette with a couple friends to get one of them to lvl 80 machinist. Jokingly said "We're getting Orbonne with new players" when they assumed it'd be LotA (because it almost always is). And hahahaaaa I was right.

All the newbies were in Alliance A, and my little group ends up in C. No wipes on Mustadio and Agrias, surprisingly went pretty quick. Then came the illustrious Thunder God Cid. Wipe, wipe, lose a frustrated healer in alliance B. And we wait and wait and wait until the clock hits about 70 mins left.

The remaining healer in that party says he thinks he can handle healing it. And he almost does until a heal check after the adds phase because of MP and Indom wasn't up. We groan together in our little discord chat.

Now, I had jumped into this on my alt who only has Ninja to 71. And I had already done the AR roulette on my main character. And just to get my friend his EXP, I leave and switch to my main. Queue up for Orbonne in progress as AST and... I'm in a queue with 2/3 tanks, 1/6 healers (me), and 6/15 dps. Cancel, make sure I have in progress checked (I did), and requeue. Same thing. Telling them this and asking if that spot is still open, they say it is.

FINALLY get in and proceed to wipe again -1 DPS instead of -1 healer. Surprisingly it was the alliance C, which I was previously in, that caused the wipe. We had few to no deaths prior until then (I had marked myself to follow for each attack, so it may have been something to do with it?)

Groan and try one more time. Win.

Get to the High Seraph herself and surprisingly not wipe (but came very close to it, healer LB3 for the win).

And my friend hit 80 with the clear.

TL;DR: Orbonne run was like day 1 again. But we still cleared.

Bonus post since I already just posted a little rant and don't want to have 2 stories in one post!

Went into the level 80 dungeon post MSQ in the last area with my brother. I'm tanking it the first time on DRK, but my gear is good enough I was confident to do big pulls, check with the healer and he says he's good to do big pulls.

First pull I notice things are dying slower than usual when I ran it on DNC. They're being AoE'd by my brother, the BLM in the group. I don't see the other DPS (a Samurai) anywhere in the mass of mobs and BLM explosions. Check the map and he's with us. Listen closer and hear the samurai attacks going off.

He's doing single target attacks. Single target in big ass pulls.

I ask why he's not doing AoE and his response was something along the lines of "I don't like the AoE rotation for Samurai"

Was a bit of a slower run for it. But we figured as long as things die... He wasn't AFK or anything at least.

I leveled WHM exclusively from 77-78 doing runs of Saint M's hard (level 70 dungeon) trying to get that mud blobs card drop... over 100 runs of it now without the card. It's one of my last cards I need (269/272) it's so silly at this point lol

I was SCH in a Dohn Mheg run where everyone reasonably geared for the dungeon, expect one thing:

The SMN had the i290 weapon from completing the level 70 job quest.

As a result, the run took longer than 30 minutes, especially when it took 2 attempts to beat the second boss.

Just ran Sirensong to try to get my brd to 62. The pain...whm had lvl 53 staff, 51-59 dungeon accessories, and whm 60 af.

I'll let y'all imagine how well that went.

I'm guessing this happens when people use Palace of the Dead to level/

got pug party with all member in a frog suit but in different color
