I have seen stun resist used, or diminishing returns spelled out, but never the abbreviation DR. I figured out what you meant from context, but didn't know the words themselves until you posted. Spelling it out might be easier (not all people realize that things become immune to stun, as you saw).Quote:

Decided to do leveling roulette on my MNK today, ended up in Toto-Rak with a BLM, a MRD, and a CNJ. The tank states that they are new to tanking, and the CNJ asks for big pulls. Tank pulls normally, seeing as he's new, as despite a few aggro struggles all goes well. Then the CNJ starts running ahead and pulling packs of mobs. The poor tank, with no mp or tp left, couldn't really do anything. After this happens a few times, they ask the CNJ to stop pulling. All they say in response is that this is "taking too long". Now I'm not sure what larger pulls would have accomplished; my only aoe at that level is arm of the destroyer, which is...well...not the best. And without having access to their tank stance yet, aggro would have been a mess. They argued a bit before we started up again, this time with normal pulls.
The CNJ never touched cleric stance once. The only time I saw them use stone/aero was on the sticky web partitions, and they didn't even use cleric stance for that. It's outrageous to me to demand big pulls (in a dungeon that isn't really suitable to big pulls) with a brand new tank when you aren't even willing to contribute any dps on the normal pulls. The tank wasn't dying, and the healer just ended up hitting cure every few seconds. At that level, healer dps surely would have been faster than pulling everything and spamming what little aoe abilities we had. -

Through the roof I don't know, that's what came to mind when thinking of DR really and pure genuinly. The doctor was to be a bit funny, but duty roulette is what I think of with DR. And to be honest, if you said that in DF to me, I'd prolly go "wtf is DR" too lol. So your patronising is what went a bit through the roof here. At least the bolded part you said.Quote:

...and then realize the horrible horrible error you made when you didn't queue as a healer =__=
I've had bad, I've had worse, but this was the first run that got never finished in WP.
Whenever I entered as BLM, I would weep internally about the performance of the healers in my party (maybe that's where the city has it's name from..xD), but I didn't know just HOW bad it could get.
My healers this time just didn't bother using their healing spells at all. It's just lovely to see hellwind get everyone down to 1 HP and then the other parties go back up and your party stays at 1 HP and the only regeneration you ever get is your own HP regen, so you go up to maybe 200 HP, but it's not like that helps you survive the next 4k roomwide AoE :rolleyes:
If this keeps on repeating ofc you assume it's because the healers CAN'T do it, maybe they had to ress so much that they are ooM, or maybe they are still caught in a different cast or have silence applied to them or died or whatever so you start monitoring the healers.
And that's when you realize they only ever use single-target heals. On the tank. Which is OT. Even at full HP while everyone else is dying.
Even more beautiful - each and any status ailment is a death sentence because it WILL not be despelled :o
"Poison, bleed, doom, who cares, what's despell anyway? I'm just here for the gear and probably have a bot running anyway" is what I imagine those 2 healers of my party thought ~.~
Obviously, Ozma proved to be impossible and we ran out of time and gave up. -

Had a Ramuh HM on Trial Roul earlier, where they had to LB1 adds to get them down and one sprout was GLUED to Ramuh even tho we told them after the initial wipe that Adds were the priority. Pretty odd. I'm just grateful the other WAR accepted me flipping on Defiance and didn't flip on theirs - bless you.
On the bright side, I hit level 60 as Warrior from that so I'm officially a Grandmaster of War on top of my Grandmaster of Magic. Finally. Now I can let that class rot in the Mothball Closet Hell I already punched NIN, MNK and BLM into. -

I was running World of Darkness for my relic and I should preface this post by saying that there were no wipes and we cleared so my saltiness is probably unnecessary and I know it, but here goes anyway.
Me, the DRK and the MNK are basically the only ones in the whole team that know how to work mechanics for this (and they're not hard). I like to dps but I spend way more time raising the drg, the three blms and the whm and even on SCH I'm having problems with mp and CD usage (read: SC). The whm only raises one person, someone in a different alliance the whole run. There's always at least one person dead on our team, and sometimes as many as four at once.
During CoD, I get targeted with a particle beam so I'm running away from the group just when they decide nobody needs to stand on the circles for real. I watch helpless and horrified as every single person on my team besides me and the tank get instantly one shot. I survive for about ten more seconds for the LB, raise everyone, protect and succor so they don't immediately die again. For the last aoe the tank pulled the level one LB to shield us because of the weakness (got my comm for that it was a good call), we barely live through it, heal to full and we manage to clear.
One commemdation. One. Like, normally I don't care so much but seriously!? I carried you people so hard. I raised you each at least twice. That group never should have cleared. And one comm.

09-03-2016, 11:23 AMLmcgyverJust going to say, from my experience "stun lock" is the act of stunning something repeatedly so that it cannot do anything (which would be why diminishing returns was implemented in the first place, a Paladin would be able to stun-lock an enemy for eternity otherwise). Now you can only stun-lock an enemy for about 10s (max, less if other abilities are used) before diminishing returns gives full resistance. As for the use of DR, agreed, it did take a short while for it to click as diminishing returns.Quote:
