I love that artist!! Honestly with male viera looking very close to f viera (no severe dimorphism), those might not be too far from reality.

Um the art of those females is stunning. I would love if they had a similar appearance to those and I’m in the camp of hoping they won’t look drastically different from the males.

If the female Hrothgar are just reskinned miqo'te I will riot...but not be surprised.

They will probably be based on fem roes which is...better than miqo'te at least.

(Miqo'te gals, I love you for real we just already have you in the game)

I never cared about beast races, but with the artwork in this thread, I've kind of taken a shine to them. It looks really good.
Male hrothgar also grew on me. Whenever I see one in town, I'll find myself looking at their character model since they look different and stand out to me.

These artworks are ok but what's with their chest? it's non-existent. If hair is the only thing that will distinguish male and female Hrothgar I don't think that's going to go off well with the average player.

Not everything has to make the average player happy.

I just realllllly hope they have some nice hairstyles and a bonus would be a nice variety of face options i however have no confidence in either of these things

Actually having just gone back to mess with CC there's a decent variety to work with on the males, with differing face sizes, all the different facial features. I feel like there's a lot more variety in what can be made compared to other races which is good, just please for the love of hydaelyn let them be able to get haircuts seeing hair tied to the face again really irked me

That's been my gripe with the few fan-art I've seen from those who bother to make some depiction of them. Well rendered art, but you're basically wanting them to be straight back Male Hrothgar to appease like 10 people who would actually play that.

Not all forms of content is for every player, Ultimates and Eureka is proof of that.
But when you're talking about races, you want something that's gonna to please people. The goal in making the Hrothgar was game health, they're here to make the game more appealing to certain Western MMO players who look for more beast/ furry options. So no, not every race has to be popular ... but there's a large difference between the respectable Male Hrothgar numbers and asking for the already niche concept of furry females to be combined with the doubling down of the main reason no one plays Femroe.

If this game had 5 furry races like WoW that serviced a wide verity of types, then that would be one thing. But asking everyone who could possibly be into making a furry female to also be down with that female looking buff and masculine is putting up a lot of barriers to entry for something that will be the "only option" for them.

I doubt it.
If they are basing them on Lions and taking any inspiration from Ronso it would stand to reason that the females have very short hair if any. And reading people try to play out their faces based on the males is odd as not once in this game have the devs ever given non-lala females the range of faces as their male counterparts. Maybe it will be different now ... but realistically, if I had to guess, I'd say 4 versions of a Ronso-ish face or a Ronso-ish face and maybe 3 of some smaller cats breed faces. Or I could see them doing 4 female versions of the male's face 2, which is more of a generic "beast" than any particular cat.

But IDK, they gonna do what they do. They know how to make pretty faces, so I'm sure w/e they do I'll like.

Ofc it has to have a balance, that's what i meant. Chest slider will be there aniway i'm sure. I think making the females too delicate is as bad as making them too muscular.

Their clothes, posing and the line work makes their chests harder to distinguish but they definitely have them. Look at the lady in yellow in the second picture.

I'm just saying, if they look anything near that fanart I'm popping fanta.

seems like they could be a little smaller and curvier than female roe. (there is also a 2d murial depiction of a female roe)
i think the murial it self is probably based of an unreleased artwork of the females and the murial is the 2d depiction of said artwork.

Naw that art is very much not a male Hrothgar with hair. xD That's like saying male and female roes are indistinguishable.

Honestly really hoping that the reason we saw no changes to f Viera and m Hrothgar were because they were doing tweaking on them to make adding further hair/features a possibility. It would have been difficult to release customization and add them to the pile of assets to adjust.

Hmm.. I feel like that depiction is a bit too thin and feminine for the niche many around here might want. I'd say something along the lines of this would be far more popular overall, than some of the other proposed designs though.

I don't know about that. Hairstyles on viera sure, but on hroth? It's probably an actual impossibility, since fur patterns or whatever take up the slot. Unless they added wigs to the game, I guess?

Yeah.. it's a true pipe dream, but so were the missing genders. I'm high on my own optimism again.

I knew Viera hair came down to being seen as a "race" with Hrothgar. Hrothgar can't have hair, so neither can Viera. So it comes down to the Hrothgar problem, and how to solve it. I would hope that after seeing that needing to pay for fantasia to change your hair was met with terrible reception it wouldn't be replicated with f Hrothgar.

We've also still got that "unique racial" hair to think about. In theory, Hrothgar hair can be replaced in any other slot that is reserved on another race (if they do indeed wish to continue with this design that these hairs will be exclusive). We have a LL soon, so perhaps we'll hear some of their thoughts.

So to me..its a pretty picture of Bozja History, but thats about it. Maybe thats what some Female Hrothgar look like, but I can't base how they will look in-game based on that paiting.

Im all for that Body, it looks similar to the FemRoe, which my headcanon believes the Devs might/should go for.
Since the Males have a similar body to the MaleRoes, I think the Females should have a Similar Body to the FemRoes.

My only gripe about that image...is the face. Just looks kinda human, if its a beast race, I think it should have a Beast Face, a Muzzle, a Full on Animal Head.

i kind of agree, but i still think we can get some key factors from it by comparing it to the female roe depicted on it, like:
body mass: they seem smaller than female roes - which kind of would make sense since male hroths are smaller than male roes.
body mass distribution: they seem to have more feminine features (well what we would consider as „female beauty standards“) compared to that roe depicted on the murial. wider pelvis or hips or what it is called in english xD, smaller waist, smaller shoulders, maybe a more buffed up female highlander or a smaller „better proportioned“ female roe?

it‘s just my speculation tho. nothing is really set in stone until we see them 3d rendered ingame, i agree with that. but i reckong, if they follow these key factors, the chance of seeing a female hrothgar being just as buff as their male counterpart seems rather slim.

After the reveal of Male Viera, my enthusiasm for how my camp will come out in the end has kind of diminished. Even if I wasn't pulling for the Male Viera that much, I still had my own idea of how they would look....and they came out....VERY different then how I imagined them. To the point any hopes of me playing one even for fun has gone away.
Im nervous the same will likely happen to FemHroths, and it will be to the extreme that Im gonna drop them alltogether.
I really wanted a Playable Beast Race, but I dont want the Females to be tiny, or delicate looking. Even worse, with human-ish faces.

Femroe having the biggest boobs in this game (and the longest hair last I checked) doesn't stop them from looking like men in 60% of body gear, which is a massive reason for their numbers. There's more to a body than looking muscular or "delicate", the internet simping over Lady D is a good example of how you can have a powerful monster woman who doesn't look buff or masculine.

esp. since we got to see one of the people on the mural and they're just a femroe, due to the devs spinebreaking attempts to bend over backward and not depict a female hrothgar even when it would be most suitable, due to not having the assets made or to prevent "well its in the game now just give us that but playable" outcry going forward.

honestly i hope the females dont have the weird hunch they gave the males compared to their FFX counterparts (i think interviews said this was to help break up their silhouette compared to roes?).

They will probably be better served using Highlander as the base instead of Roe. Roe have the issue of having a horrible rectangular body shape. Built like refrigerators, and don't see much player engagement.

Fukuro is referring to the body shape in the art, which it is not "vague" about. You can have different hair/ "face features"/ tails, but the key point of that art is to highlight their shape and how it differs to that of Femroe and "Body shape" is something you can't change. Tis why saying "Maybe thats what some Female Hrothgar look like" makes no sense on the topic of body shape.

I'd love a full on race reveal vid to, but that doesn't mean we have nothing that gives us a good idea of their body shape.

I'd agree to this, but at the same time Highlanders may be too slim, and the least we need is another race with severe dimorphism. Besides, if male Hroths are male Roes done better, then hopefully Hrothgals are femroes done better too....as long as they don't end up looking like they came out of Cats 2019, please not Cats 2019
