Note: can anybody suggest healer stat? I think they need both VIT and MND, I see many suggestion about bard now, I want to know how should WHM do. How do you guys gear your WHM ?
Does anyone know if there are any drops in turn 3? We finished turn three only opening 1 coffer which had x-potions and stuff. Has anyone found any real items that drop in this turn?

What happened to the Hard mode DUNGEONS we were told about? There isnt any in-game right now I think there needs to be more lvl 50 group content other then Amdapor. My company and I are smashing our heads into our keyboards running only 1 dungeon over an over. Again, what happened to Hard mode dungeons? Thought they were going to be in the game. And no, not hard mode primals, hard mode dungeons.

ahhhh, it feels so good! i can't say how satisfied i am with the coil and this was definitely the hardest boss battle i've ever fought in any MMORPG. at first i was pretty apprehensive about the endgame but wow, just wow. this is some crazy fun siht!
i'm really kind of speechless. we've been playing around in turn 5 for a couple hours and bar just keeps raising! :cool:

Have a question about Caduceus and his add. We understand the concept of the adds/the fight, but on some attempts the adds just fucking blow up and wipes us. It happens on some attempts but not on others and we literally cannot figure out whats going on with that. Any idea why? Thanks for any help @_@

Hey guys! I've been playing since 1.0 and had mained lancer until level 38. When ARR came out I decided to level a new class so I decided to go with a tank role and picked MRD. I fell in love with the way Warrior gear looks to their mechanics. Currently I'm level 44 and I'm extremely looking forward to endgame content. With this being said, I'm worried that Warrior is just kind of sub-par compared to Paladin as far as tanking goes. With all this talk of "tuning" and "being pushed to the limits" I feel that Warrior is not capable of holding a role as a "Main Tank", and that parties might rather just use 2 Paladins for these end game raids rather than using a Warrior. I also feel that if I would attempt to "Main Tank" as a Warrior that I will be scoffed at for offering to play a role that is better filled by another class.
Is Warrior viable? If so, then how would Warrior have to be played in order to be of use to a party for end game content? Is it totally unheard of for a party to use a Warrior as a "Main Tank" for different turns in the Binding Coil of Bahamut? If Warrior's sole role to be an "Off Tank", then how much do they really bring to an end game party in terms of usefulness?
Sorry for all the questions, I just really don't want to waste my time on a class that will always be sub-par. I went through that in FFXI with dragoon, and that was one of the reasons why I had dropped the game prematurely due to having a poor in game experience.

Just as a note, for those concerned with gearing their FC up to tackle the content, I want to remind people not to overlook crafted gear. I assume most FCs would have at least a few dedicated crafters, and you ought to leverage them! In many/most cases from what I have seen HQ iLvl70 crafted gear outperforms darklight, particularly when melded. And for those without relics the iLvl70 HQ weapons are as good if not better than primal drops.
The other nice advantage is that the FC can pool together to gear someone in crafted gear, as you don't need to spend the tomstones yourself. And at least in the case of darksteel armor the cost is cheaper for the required coke.
This question has been answered already in this thread, if you scroll back a few pages. TL;DR PLD simply has more mitigation at the moment. They just have more "take less damage" buttons. Also foresight is trash. Warrior has more "do damage" buttons though, meaning it's a trade off. At the moment most people are tackling this content with gear lower than what was designed to tackle it. Warrior can perform admirably despite this, but in most cases PLD is the preferred main tank.
Unless the classes are exactly the same, one will always be better, however marginally. How often they will flip back and forth remains to be seen. (We'll see if WAR gets a buff in 2.1 or PLD gets a nerf.) If you want to be king of the moment, switch to PLD. If you want to be king regardless, level both. If you want to play what you like, level WAR.
P.S. You can circumvent the char limit with the edit tool. No need to double post.
Question about WHM. How much HP usually mage in this dungeon in your party have? I m trying to find a balance point between MND and VIT atm, since both are seem to be needed. Unlike other class such as DRG only need STR, BRD only need DEX, PLD only need VIT. most WHM seem to get both VIT and MND.
We've done most of the content with 2 WAR. Once you hit Turn 4 and 5 the mana cost is too harsh and 1 PLD becomes much more optimal. I don't think it's impossible to figure out how to make 2 WAR work, but it's not really a great idea if you want to push cutting edge content (especially undergeared.)
instead of balancing your stats you might as well just start grinding Amdapor Keep and saving Tombstones of Philosophy for Darklight gear which is already somewhat optimized for their given classes/jobs. I started out ARR by making some sexy melded gear which...i regretfully found out just can't be better than darklight in most cases because of the item level and the caps on certain stats, especially "main" stats, like mind for healers. There really isn't much freedom with gear right now if you want to have the best you can get. Big shame in my opinion.
Once i stopped being stubborn and finally bought all of the healer Darklight gear, i saw MAJOR improvements in every area: HP, MP, heals, defense, etc... they kind of horseshoe us into the "tiers" of gear. the only alternative is absurdly expensive/difficult to obtain, crafted equipment and breaking tens, maybe hundreds of top tier materia.
It's a bit strenuous to obtain, as it needs more tomstones than darklight gear itself, (or gil) but the last bit about materia is simply not true. The crafted HQ gear is already better than (in most cases) or comparable to its corresponding darklight gear. Specifically looking at healer gear:

Now I don't know a whole lot about gearing an end game healer as I don't play a healer, but to me the raw stats already look better. And you already have 2 built in materia slots, you could even slot that piety back in and lose nothing. Without doing any forbidden melding.
I have Darklight on my healer already, but I dislike it though. They look kidda bad on her. (Actually all the Cowl does).
I plan to get AF2 on DPS class for more opportunity to play another role instead of just one. So I hope that I will be able to stay on my WHM in coil of bahamut in the future with just Darklight and not push party too much in danger by not having AF2. (In case if future Coil party are playing with AF2 set mainly, I hope that AF2 won't be the minimum requirement on healer.). I probably get AF2 on MNK or BRD instead to open my DPS role choice, since I don't have their darklight. The main worry I have was just that whether darklight is enough to take the healer role or do I need to seek full upgrade and extend MND status. So far, I not notice much different at all by wearing all VIT accessory or wearing all MDN accessory.
Hello Everyone. I am a Level 50 Alchmist with over 350 Craftsmanship. I wanted to know if there is any potions that I could craft that you would all benefit from using in doing these end game runs.
Is there Any benefits for you in using Mega-Potions of Resistance, Mega-Ether, X-Potion, Hi-Potions of Certain Stats?
