Also good job on getting the game name to them, the guy would not even take it from me, he may as well have just straight up said to me "I don't even care about your problem". On the other hand I've heard if you renew your contract now they put you on a different exchange and you do not get traffic shaping applied to your broadband, thus fixing the problem. I really don't want to have to go down this route...

It did for me as of about 11pm last night. Will double check at peak time tonight, but it seems to have resolved the issue.

It worked for me last night, I posted that on the way to work....

I played all through peak hours last night (UK 6pm to about midnight)

It may not work for you, but you might as well try it, rather than just dismiss it, other people on the old beta forums had the same success as I did with forwarding the ports

OK thanks, i'll try it tonight, unfortunately I'm at work now.
On the other hand, I've just phoned BT and got through to an ACTUAL tech this time and he understood everything that I was telling him and he confirmed that because I'm an Infinity Option 2 customer that there are NO restrictions on my Internet usage whatsoever....

I cant see a fix until way after this week, theres just no Dev responses or anything of the sort. BT will only solve this if SE get in touch with them.
SE only have to take a look in this thread to see whats going on. But nothing. I know it seems like they have bigger fish to fry, but this thread is testament to how widespread this problem is.

rjh123456 I saw ur port post however all the pages linked are no longer working, I will try anything to play this game at peak time, square haven't even responded to our call, we have around 170 comments and nearly 7000 views what does it take.

BTW lag started earlier today yay! clocked in at around 6;22pm great even less play time.

see it this way square imagine this,(a theoretical) u have to go out all day (work or school or college) come back at 4-5pm have about 1 hour to play the game then it gets unplayable , also imagine you brought the game 2 times, (once back 3 years ago) also imagine if u will that u have a collectors edition as one of those purchases.

now should this loyal fan be shunned and just left to suffer.

What a surprise, just gone past 7 and everyone's doing the stop-start movement and interactions are nigh-impossible, was running perfectly smooth all day long before this.

Well tried the proXPn free VPN suggested earlier but that wouldn't even let me start the launcher so that was a bust and I can't even get in at the moment to see if there's lag due to 1017. Hopefully this will somehow be sorted soon, would be nice to get on before Saturday -,-

If it was just a little bit of lag at least we could craft or something but this five minute delay is just terrible.

hay guys im not sure if this helps but im playing pc version and my wife is on ps3 version at the same time i started getting the lag again like the last few nights but shes running fine. Im on BT fiber. non of this is making any sense to me how can she still be playing but i cant?

I think we should just bombard BT with threats to leave there service unless they add an exception for ARR because this is unacceptable, it seems to get a little better after around midnight but if you've got work the next day you're hardly going to be playing long around that time!

BT have a knack for wrongly throttling legitimate online services including WoW, it's a joke!

I sadly bought a VPN after getting pissed off, hopefully i can cancel out of the contract when BT stop throttling....Hope.

I use hide my ass, fixes the problem and as a side effect it's an invisible proxy so you can also use it to watch US only on demand sites.

I'm using SpotFlux, it's free and seems to work pretty well. No problem launching the game and I don't get any noticeable slowing of my connection.

this sucks as i work day time and evenings and i get home around 10 each night right in the middle of being throttled.

I never really got a chance to try this at the weekend there but did it have the same issues or is it just a weekday thing?

BT and other ISP's where ordered by OFCOM to stop using the word unlimited in their broadband packages if they limit it in anyway, BT stopped limiting all NEW unlimited broadband packages from February 2013, anyone who got a contract for unlimited broadband before February 2013 will have their internet throttled even though it still says you have an unlimited connection.

To make it harder for existing customers to see the change they've added the word TOTALLY before unlimited on the new broadband packages. To get totally unlimited broadband you need to sign a new contract with them for one of their new packages. Once you change over to the new package it will take up to 5 working days for it to take effect.

According to BT they aren't going to stop throttling people who signed a contract before February. If you do choose to change packages over the phone DO NOT use the direct phone number they'll offer to give you, it costs £1 a minute.

Just set up spotflux and its working for me too, this should hopefully work till the problems sorted ^^
