Yep just like 1.0 without the need to go through every market ward to find the retainer lol
Anyone else thinks it's rather hilarious we actually want some things from 1.0 to come back? -_-
This is similar to something I posted in some other thread. SE could just add an option for the seller to set a minimum purchase quantity that defaults to the full amount. For example, say I list 100 shards and the default would be that the minimum buy is 100 shards. But I could list 100 and set a minimum buy of 10 or 12. Then someone could buy 15 or 98 if they wanted. Once there are fewer than the minimum left on the market board, the market board could either return the items to the seller or change the minimum to the remaining quantity.
Not everything from 1.xx was horrible. Especially stuff from the later patches. 1.0 specifically was quite a broken game but the stuff that came out across 1.xx wasn't that bad at all. The bulk selling tickbox however was already out in 1.0 I think and it was awesome. I used it regularly (though not many others did for some reason) if I wanted to do bulk sales at a lesser cost just to get rid of stacks of stuff. Nothing wrong with bulk options so long as that's all they are, options. I'm still very much in favour of individual sales from a stack however. It makes things far easier to sell without taking up all sale slots on a fifth of a single stack of items if you wish to cater to those who only want 1-2 of an item rather than the 99 most people tend to stack and sell.
I actually do see the benefits of not being able to select how many you can buy. Of course, the buyer draws the shorter straw in this system, but for seller it gives so many other options to sell your stuff instead of just undercutting more than others, at least for stackable items. You can for example sell a full stack of items cheaper, and ask a bit more for single items / smaller batches. I suppose the system has been mainly thought from sellers' side because in any case as buyer you have to pay more, but it also keeps the economy somewhat in check by allowing proper competition between sellers when there's other options than just undercutting.
Rein, if it's not too much trouble, what is this mod saying and Mapex answering?

I think he's whining because there are some english posts in the thread, but Google translate is really bad going from japanese to english >.<
And then someone posts below in English. /facepalm
Deleted already
What do you think Rein? Did the response you got on Twitter from Foxclon hint at any possibility of the adjustment? Or was like "No way, no adjustments are coming!" Or was it like "No, Yoshi was not saying we will adjust WAR at that time."
I didn't see any type of hint that WAR is getting any type of adjustment at all from Foxclon's response on Twitter.
He was just confirming nothing about adjustments was said during TGS.
Devs should just give some type of hint if players are really not doing something right. I'm thinking the players pretty much tried everything possible with the cross class combinations and Marauder/Warrior actions, so either devs got super hack mode or the development program has some type of adjustment that's not in our version or something... lol If their response is that Warriors need more gear requirements than PLD, then personally that's not a good answer.
I'm doing my very best with it at this time. But sheer pressure makes me give up and go PLD.
Even if WAR is good enough, the stigma and stink about it is so bad, it's putting too much of a burden on players and taking away from the enjoyment of the game.
Tell her I said to stop curing you until you learn to mitigate better. :P
I know I have said this before, but I am beginning to think that I must be missing something, or maybe I have just never played with a really good PLD, because in my experience the good WAR I have come across are better than any other tank I have come across. I have yet to come across a PLD that I thought was as good, yet I come across far more PLD than WAR, so statistically that doesn't make sense to me unless the role itself is better. I see it like this: WAR > PLD > GLD > MRD
And I am playing as a WHM and just go by how easy the fight is for me personally. I wouldn't mind looking at raw numbers outside of game, but subjectively ignoring the numbers, I don't understand what the problem is or why other WHM seem to have a problem with warriors. This whole debate is just confusing to me because it doesn't fit with my own experiences at all.
I have lots and lots and lots of alts! But I haven't gotten into the end game content grind because I am trying to avoid.. Certain types of people.. It will probably be another 4 weeks before I dive into the fray, even though I could do it right now if I wanted to. (I got locked out of behemoth for most of the first 3 weeks during 1017 issues so my main has sadly lagged far far behind my JP lala. working to fix that now.)
Even so, I don't see how a role suddenly stops being as good between level 49 and level 50. It just doesn't make sense to me.....
Just checking if you got another alt character with lv50, the main stuff about PLD vs WAR stuff comes in at lv50 dungeons.
I haven't done Bahamut's Coil myself but I keep on reading that PLD's are much easier to manage.
I think WAR's role doesn't get bad, it's just the enemy gets much much stronger and when you compare a WAR and PLD in exact same gear PLD makes it easier for the WHM's. If I can I want to keep on doing end game with WAR but reading lots of stuff on this forums makes me think that I should probably gear up for my PLD before WAR... :( (For relic I said hell no to that... and took Bravura quest... and now stuck LOL...)Quote:

I just had an epiphany.
Maybe the developers say that Warriors are strong because when they test the content all the developers suck at playing as Paladins!
More seriously though: I'm far from endgame content but I was wondering, do Warriors still do more damage than Paladins even when they have Defiance up and the Paladins have Shield Oath up? Woud be kind of sad if in those conditions Paladins did more damage.
It doesn't. WAR is awesome doing lvl 50 content like CM, Prae, AK and Ifrit and Garuda. In those fights nobody cares if you're a WAR or PLD. The WAR class is harder to play and additionally underpowered skill-wise compared to PLD, but with a good WAR playing you won't notice. I run those instances with my WAR because I find the class more fun to play precisely because it's harder and more engaging.
The problem starts with Titan and gets ugly in Coil. The damage you take grows much faster than the damage you dish, which determines your self heals. Titan fights? "Let the pally tank". "But hey, I'm a very good player and have great gear!" "Doesn't matter, he's easier to heal". Or "LF tank for Titan" "Hey, invite me, I'm a war!" "No thx, need pally, and we only take 1 tank".
I've done turn 1 in Coil with several groups and pallies are universally preferred. I have a relic and full DL gear except for 3 slots which are myth ilvl 90 pieces, and have around 7.2k health with defiance and without buffs. Last time I went with my FC and tanked. All night long the healers and dps were whining about how much easier the caduceus fight was with pallies instead of wars as tanks. And truly, we wiped often not because someone f*cked up but because the healers couldn't keep up. Wars don't have the EZ-mode buttons and massive passive mitigation that pallies get. And incoming damage scales even more as you go to turn 2 and beyond. For these reasons I'm levelling up a pally to play endgame content.
DPS is a bit higher too, but nothing to write home about. Theorycrafted damage in tanking stance is 5% - 10% higher with WAR.Quote:

I did Coil with my group yesterday. I can do it just fine. I'm still wondering what the big deal is. No one in my group seems to care. We didn't clear Turn IV because we want to muddle about in Turn III and try to figure that out, but no one complained that I need more healing.
People prefer Pallies the same way they prefer BLMs and BRDs over MNK and DRG. These are also starting to get some undeserved ostracism (I read someone call them "useless jobs"). All the former classes let you be unskilled and not suffer much consequence. The only reason people take MNK and DRG to Titan is for the Limit Break.
Now we have MNK and DRG in our Coil parties, but people will set and wait for hours for 2 BRDs in Coil pick ups because they feel like they need them for silences even though they have 2 pallies for silences.
It's over insurance of a win because the skill level is low. But no one needs to make their parties like this. The issue is the same with WAR. People feel more secure of PLD because what they have been told. But I tell you that PLDs don't survive any better in an unskilled party than a WAR. If the party is skilled a WAR will survive just as well as a PLD. If the party is skilled and they prefer a PLD, the healers are just lazy, because it effects no one else in the party.
WARs are many times better players. Sometimes PLDs are lazy, not running out of stuff and eating everything, "because sentinel". As a WAR, I just don't get hit. Especially in Turn 2, you learn to be quick on your feet and run OUT of the red patterns on the floor. But 100% of the PLDs I've run with just stand in it.
But no one thinks I'm a possibility as a WAR because I'm harder to heal. But they've never played with me. I feel that WAR is fine, but we need a better statement from the devs, but even then it's at the point where no one will believe it. That horse has left the barn and WAR will carry this stigma was the rest of the life of the game I fear. :(
This is what I am worried about too. First off monks are my favourite DPS class by far. I have run with some bad ones, but the good ones are always amazing. With a good WAR and MNK in the party, it is always a smoother run. Second, Bards on the other hand are my least favourite class to work with. In theory they are great, but I rarely see it. (Dragoon, I have only come across occasionally, so I don't have a good feel for them yet.)
Also on the aoe thing: in general I think a lot of PLD seem to have a worse off understanding of what happens after mitigation. They seem to think that mitigation means they don't get hurt at all so if they die it is all on the healer, which is only partly true. I actually had to tell a PLD once in stone vigil(?) to stop standing in aoe or I was going to run out of MP before the end no matter how much mitigation he had because my MP is limited. Similarly, my worst runs of Hauke are always PLD who stay in the aoe and try and take it. Obviously there are slower players as well as inexperienced, but the AOE thing seems common enough that I think it must be something that simply isn't learned well for that particular job especially not early enough on to become habit.
Well... all I can say is, this is how I felt back in 1.0 playing MNK. The prejudices about how instances were "impossible" with MNK were rampant and everyone told you to "just play ARC/LNC" Now it's another class that is carrying this stigma. I don't think it will ever change, it will always hit some class, you just realize it more when it hits you. You just have to find people worth partying with.
Yep it's basically this, if you can find good friends/people that will let you play with any class YOU want to play is the best.
I leveled every battle class in 1.0 to prep for any types of parties but my favorite will and always will be Warrior. (Favorite job from FF1,3,5 - before Ninja's and Blue Mages and Suppin.. lol)
Regardless of how you feel, and what you know: If you limit yourself to one class because it's your favorite, you're going to have a bad time. YES, you CAN do all these things you want on X job, but you will fight an uphill battle unless you have a good group of like-minded people. Level ALL your jobs. Be flexible. Patches often change the landscape greatly and it's possible your favorite will have it's day in the spotlight... but today is not that day.
It is sad, that some of the community is stuck in this stigma. I've had no issues running with WARs on Titan just to get them their well deserved clears as any other. As a Brd I'm not tossing up anymore than BV+Ballad after heart so Mages have MP on Final Phase. If I'm adding another Ballad in Final phase, its because ppl are taking avoidable dmg.
It's not about being flexible in this case, really. All you have to level is one of each role. That's enough flexibility right there.
There is really no reason to struggle leveling a class you can't identify yourself with. If you can't, then you will be bad at it, and/or won't enjoy playing the game - and that's what the game ultimately is about.
Its interesting that while they say that they will be adding more spots where Karakuls spawn, in the case of Banemites they just mention adjusting their spawn rate. I hope they don't mean that they'll be decreasing the spawn rate.
Regardless, at least on Phoenix, the main problem with Banemates is the bot farming. As long as they take care of those, farming Banemites honestly isn't that bad since regular players don't really monopolize the farming spots for long.
It's always great to hear and understand what's going on. Many thanks in advance to all involved.
I'm also glad to see SE is continuing with their great out-of-game artwork. There's the All Saints' Wake piece, of course, but also a sort of sneak peek at a housting-themed illustration. Very nice.

Let's see your PLD AF, I'm working on it really hard right now and here's what I have so far

Re: Today's Post
The vote to kick thing should be satisfactory enough as I'm sure people intent on afk'ing can just as easily setup macros to move their chars every so often.
Yeah some others on that JP thread (including myself) said the exact same thing.
Probably can do enmity checks + time but even with that it still can be automated (in this case however it becomes more of boting so it's bannable offense so I'm cool with that if we get to report them idiots and get them out of the game for good...lol)
Today's Posts:
- Seems like SE likes where FATEs are at in terms of the xp they award, as instead of nerfing them they're just raising the xp that everything else will offer. (dungeons, guildhests, guildleves all confirmed to be boosted now whether it's via base xp values or gain bonuses from the armoury bonus)
- The "bug" with the dungeon queue cancelling immediately in most cases is tanks looking for a group in progress so that they don't have to join a fresh group and can get their myth/philo faster. I don't know how they plan to address this other than creating a limit in which how many times a person can queue within a certain period of time. Something like 3 times within 10 minutes or something, since there's really nothing you can complete in that time frame under normal circumstances.
The problem with the DF sounded like something I've seen even with low-level guildhests, so it may have multiple causes. I thought maybe someone was AFK and their accept/commence dialog timed out, or they clicked "cancel" because they wanted to finish a guildleve or FATE or whatever. Usually it matches up again almost immediately after that and we start the content. I never had cancels happen over and over, though.
