I noticed that too. It's less apparent, but there's a little.
Let's wait for more details from a DEV before crying. (I know I'm asking a lot...)

Really choppy gameplay?? Thats not a good sign when choppy gameplay is in the OFFICIAL trailer...
I hope SE has at least gotten the impression from this that the message from players is "NOT good enough! Get back to work dammit!"
That doesn't look anything like what we have seen on the live letters the choppiness is either in the editing and/or its the Ps3 version i would think.
Though i goto say Ouch for people planing to play it on the Ps3, if thats what they are getting.
I know graphics ain't everything an all but, I thought the Pc ones were looking weak compared to now, that trailers. just... But well at least any old pc should be up to running it at lower settings now possibly.
But yeah comon SE, give us more! :p
Something new and shiny, early Dx11 work? :D
Well, there has been plenty of Screenshots/Gameplay ( with better quality) that has shown "the best they can do" Concept. However, we are still in Alpha on the PC ( were practically there now) and PS3 version is just a step behind the PC, not to mention the fact PS3 can only go up to 720p, which makes it all the worse.
Why would it look great on all those other Screens/gameplay stuff, and now this trailer the graphics appear to be a step behind what we already saw before this?
Because there's virtually no point to showing them. It's the same game, but visually inferior. Why would you show off the visually inferior version in a trailer, something that hinges on providing visual information?
That's what I want to know.
I'm not usually one to complain about these things but that video was horribly choppy
No complaints about the gfx really, only that one part with the hume looks bad, the rest looks fine if it wasn't so choppy
What sort of multiplatform advertisement uses the weakest system to show off their game?
And is that why they didn't label it as the PS3 version? And if the PS3 version is so drastically early in development that they're experiencing heavy framerate, why make a shoddy trailer at all? Where the issues so bad that you had to include them to make a full trailer? Where there no other options?
Hmm... I have yet to see the video... but do you think it is possible the trailer itself is the problem and not the game play? IE. The trailer was not seen upon final save and was accidentally saved in wrong format etc .
I know it's unlikely, but isn't it more unlikely that they would actually record choppy gameplay?
*puzzlement*
Entitled.
Entitled?
You. Think I'm entitled?
What a tragic notion.
What a lowly concept.
How weAk.
God forbid I bring critique. God forbid I point out problems. God forbid I try to help Square from making the same mistakes again.
Are they really that untouchable to you? Can they really not be shown their error? Is it that you fear to offend them? Are you afraid they'll just give up? Afraid they'll take the game from you? Don't want to hurt the feelings of the people we gave 2 years of time, money, and support to keep the project alive till it meets satisfaction?
Square releases a low quality trailer and pointing it that it's a bad decision makes me entitled? No. No it does not.
You know, this is actually a fairly good point. They have to release something at the show, being the last one before release, so they hastily scrap together a mundane trailer before the game is properly polished just to show progress for the TGS attendees. Not being one to hide such media, they release it for public viewing, and the game looks not so grand.
Honestly, this could all be avoided if they waited till it was ready to release it.
Gramul, I love you bro... But I don't really see what's the problem. I mean, sure, it's a little (Or a lot) laggy, but we haven't even gotten into Alpha, yet. There's no use complaining about something like this when the game is about to go into Alpha. If these issues arise during Alpha, then I'd think you'd all be justified.
That's really one of the biggest issues I'm having with the game right now. It seems like they're rushing to meat deadline. The game is bare bones standard as far as features go, we're getting under developed trailers to try to bring hype without providing much to grab onto (might even deter with how poor this latest one was), visuals have been shaved down without being redeveloped beyond the new engines basic lighting capabilities, and it's supposed to be out in only a few months.
I don't want this game to make the same mistake twice, but the way things are developing, it seems like that's the direction we're speeding towards.

On a serious note: I know how you feel, but we can't really do much here. We'll have to wait until we have a hands-on experience of 2.0 to truly judge it.
5 months is not a few by my phrasing, sorry. It's closer to half a year...plus, we don't know if it may get pushed back...more than once I've heard them say "We rushed last time, so we don't want to make that mistake again". I think that means they are prepared to push it back. Or not, idk
It just echos the 'but its a beta' excuse we(including me), tried to use when the game first came out. And I won't be doing that again. I will make sure Square hears and understands my concerns this time, even if it is premature, because I'd rather take comfort in the knowledge that I did my best to help rather than just sit and hope they get it right. That would just be giving them the excuse of 'But you should have told us what you wanted' like Capcom did with Legends. I know Square isn't Capcom, but I sure as heck won't give them the opportunity to be. I will not be made the bad guy by the company I pay.
It's less than half a year, which I consider small. Especially for game development. If they can pull it off, fantastic, but I have my eye on them this time.
I agree with gramul. We've waited for so long for this game that I'd rather wait for them to make it properly than to rush it out with the environments looking like that among other things. This is the world I'm willing to spend years in. Pushing back the release now is utterly trivial compared to the bigger picture.
But there's also the impending release of ps4 that cannot be completely overlooked by SE.
Sigh, just seen the trailer and if I was SE I would be ashamed to put that up especially if that's ps3's first footage. That lag where the dragoon does dragon dive reminds me of being in Dragon's Aery with 200 people spamming for claim on Nidhogg Pop.
I'm really surprised it even got approved to be showned in the first place. Even if some of you guys are fanboys you can't deny how horrible that lag is. Pretty embarrassing :/
And I agree with y'all, I don't want them to repeat what happened at launch, either. I'm just saying that we need to wait until we actually are in Alpha to make any serious concerns. This is the first footage we've seen for the PS3 version anyway. And honestly, it isn't all that bad. Sure, it definately needs to be tweaked, but that's what Alpha/Beta is for.
Found it again for OP

Now that I have seen it. The frame rate is the least of my own concerns, wtf is with that character model quality? You see what is in my sig?
That is an In-game screen shot, made in Ul'dah in sunny weather... I made no adjustments to saturation etc... The photoshopping is done only on earrings, eyelashes and adding a glow effect around the character
Where has the beauty gone D:
Oh.... my word.
Is that for PS2 or something? o.o
I really hope you are right. But as usual we have no clarification so allow the forum panic to continue
I'll get you all started...
'Wah! You suck SE, you are going to ruin the game'
'WTF I quit'
'OMG you gaiz its just Alpha'
'Derp, you using the alpha excuse, it's too late in development for that!11!'
'White Knight!!!'
'Troll!'
'Blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrgslurpurgle DDDDDD:'
...Actually I think I have covered it all now.
Starlord, why do you try to white knight everything SE does? You can clearly tell its not PC footage. Alpha or whatever you call it doesn't change how it runs. The graphics are not that bad, however that frame rate is disgusting.
Hope this is a Aprils fools joke, oh wait! :(
These forums never cease to amaze me... but it is what it is, Alpha is where our "Concerns" will really count the most, if the game isn't ready for Launch We need to make it known that its far or close from the state.
Here we go.... XD
While I do agree, I think we should wait to make final judgements... I still have to wonder..
..why would SE release a promotional trailer depicting the game at this quality? Furthermore, when we will get a new trailer, and not one that consists of mostly just mixed-up already released footage?
