See thats where Im confused, I didnt even insult anybody. But you're just gonna claim a Buzzword is an Insult, even after I explained How I used said "Buzzword".

“Baby gamer rage”. That’s your insult. I don’t know why you insist on playing these games. When you point at a side you disagree with and insult the maturity of their actions in this way.
Just saying, you aren’t Mr take the high road while passing judgement

It wasn't even an insult. It was a Question, and you are insulted by it. And now you think Im playing a game, and there was some High Road.
You are just to much XD
Ok, Im just wasting time and Post limits on this. Nothing Productive here, just going in circles which is a shame.
Just apparently me saying anything is an Insult, Which has me Dying of Laughter.
Alright, you have a good Day/Night.
So if someone is shitty to you irl do you just nod and smile? Or do you say something? I wont enable anyones bad behaviour ingame or out. I am more than willing to tell a person at a store they are being shitty, which I am sure other customers and cashier will agree with. It sounds like you enable bad behaviour everywhere which isnt healthy. I also dont think many people are yelling at anyone ingame. They type out a sentence without caps teling the person they are doing something wrong. If they take it that badly then they are being sensitive and not wanting to get better which in that case no one is required to carry them through any content.
There are billions of people on the planet. If they are being horrible people...I just ignore them and move on. Do you think if I said anything to them that they would be all "You know what you got a point. I'm sorry".
No. They don't. They take that behavior and ramp it to 200% and now it's directed at you. I'm never going to see them again. I remove myself from the situation and it is over and done with immediately.
Light hearted banter is best served among people you already know.
If I'm in a duty roulette with strangers, the only humor I'm going to use is of the self-deprecating kind if I'm the one that screws up.
Way I see it if someone is doing something to the point another person tells them they are horrible and need to self delete. Report and move on, if it is happening often still report but it is time to start reflecting on what or what you may not doing.
Offense is subjective. I take offense to things you might not.
And people offended by everything is one of those things that I'm offended by.
I'm a free speech absolutist. I feel that society should dictate what's acceptable to say, not a government or corporate entity. I follow SE's rules, for example, but I still feel they should have no right to tell me what I can't say. One should be polite enough to not say something horrible, and ostracizing from society for being an asshole is good enough.
What if I told you that they're overstepping their bounds?
If my towns people want to ban a word, that's fine. If my towns government wants to van a word with absolutely no input from the rest of us, that's not fine.
Government is more skin to the discussion than companies, because a corporate entity is at the whims of the government. Even if SE wanted to give an N word pass, they couldn't in a lot of places.
And don't get me started on government officials doing shit I didn't vote them in to do.
Yall would hang the best comedians in history now. George Carlin was right. People are getting soft.
Most people that claim for the utmost free speech have very little interesting to say. We live in society, society perception of right and wrong changes over time. We stabilish limits, evolve certain conceptions, that's how the world goes. Yeah many comedians from decades ago wouldn't have a place now, but imagine if we all had the same sense of humour forever.
This has very little to do with getting soft, it's about change, and it always happened and it will keep happening. You might choose to get sour over it but I don't think it's something worth putting energy into.
Oh yeah, there are! Specially in online spaces, you feel like you are walking on eggshells all the time. But there are also the other side of the coin as well. I was talking more regarding people asking for "100% free speech" and how they can't "do jokes anymore", because to me this mindset is not very different from the hypersensitive one.
The original post and title feels so familiar that it reminds me of “XIV players are mentally fragile” thread.
And the author of said thread is also the one that necro-ed this thread. They share the same avatar.
coincidence?
Getting offended is not a choice. Different people have different sensitivities.
Sir... this is a role-playing video game... human endocrinology has no possible relevance in the FANTASY world of Eorzea. Please do us and yourself a favor and keep your personal views relative to the hormones of human males out of our magical fantasy world. Thank you.
Calling it a cop out is a cop out. Just because you have certain “sensitivities” doesn’t mean someone is trying to “trigger” your fragility. You could grow a spine, or some thicker skin, go back to the old adage of words don’t hurt. Or curl up in your ball, trembling because someone said something you didn’t like and you let it break you
Yes yes it's very easy to be tough and edgy behind internet anonymity.
But I guarantee, you have friends or family members with mental health issues, who struggle with these things. Do you tell them to 'grow a spine'? Or maybe you don't realise because you're the type of person they wouldn't confide in. Maybe it's a cousin with an eating disorder, or an uncle with PTSD. Mental health issues are real, therapy exists for a reason, and it's not because "everyone's so fragile nowadays".
