The JP's version of Hidden Artifacts makes no mention of 2.0, nor "all-new" concept art, rather, just a monster being reborn. I don't think the different Hidden Artifacts posts are direct translations of each other, I believe they're all separate posts.

So, while ours is all-new, it doesn't mean the others need to be.

I noticed this too. But the other artwork is never released.

2.0 "A Realm Reborn"...so yeah, regardless it's a fun little event to see who actually paid attention to the NPCs they speak with (or just copy the post above them even if its wrong.)

I think you'll find, from my track record and this thread, I dont wait and see, I have already shared my disappointed opinion before 2 tiles were removed from the image lol. I didnt wait for it to finish...

It's nice that they are trying to make the community active in trying to answer the questions. The motivation to read these forums gets depleted everyday for me, reading people that only want to complain. I understand it's a bit disappoining that they are recyling an old concept art, and the title being "Hidden Artifact" is misleading, but in the end a lot of the people haven't seen it, also they might have edited something on it?

I don't think this is worth getting worked up over, but it's certainly not something that you can just accept. When a company says something untrue, it brings question to their prerogative. Do they really intend to make this game better, or are they just trying to hype up old content as new to use the least amount of effort possible to get people interested? It's a simple breech of trust, and the sort of reaction from "whiners" is perfectly understandable.

Is untrue for Japan. That might mean they're only talking about a few pieces of art, it might be a translation flub, it might be a cheap PR stunt. I don't know, but that's for Square to clear up for us, and they better damn well do it if they want to keep trust.

They said NEW concept art this implies stuff made recently and if it's concept it's reasonable to assume it would be made for 2.0, they didn't say original concept art from before 2010 they haven't had a chance to use. It was bad wording and guilty of sparking excitement leading to disappointement. A dangerous thing to pull in any marketing situation. You need to use your wording with care for these things, learn the lesson.

The concept art for the NA version is completely different. Go find something else to cry about.

So far what the NA has unlocked has a different color scheme to it. and seems rather short compared to the behemoth.

That's not what the complaint is really about.

The problem is the claim of new content when some of it is old.

However, there is a possibility that they where just saying that some of the pictures and not all where made for the event. I dunno if that's true or not.

Did they make the claim that the concept art in the JP post was all new? If they just said "2.0 concept art" or something similar, then they're right. It technically is now 2.0 concept art since they aren't coming out with it until 2.0.

EDIT: Now checked official site and they took down the details but that last link at lorehound.com was nice enough to mention the information was from Final Fantasy XIV official site.

Being here makes me not want to be a final fantasy fan. By far one of the worst communities in existence. What a stupid thread, and even stupider that I'm bothering to post in it. Judging by the likes on the first post, we have 33 idiots and counting. Okay off I go.

I know this is late in the topic, but how do you know (since this was posted in another area) that they also got the same concept art in their box that we got in ours? They might have, but it's a little too early to assume.

Huh, cool, I hadn't seen that before. Thanks for posting it, I like that rendition of Titan quite a bit.

I'm more concerned about the game, and not artwork.

*spoilers* in one of the pugilist quests they mention people in Ishgard breeding and raising Behemoth pets, but I don't know... I would kind of like to see Behemoths be a little more revered
We might be going a little "Mount Crazy" when you factor in the 2 we already have, plus drakes and Ahriman

To the actual point of this thread... I haven't seen the entire images yet so I'll reserve judgement. If one happens to be the exact launch behemoth concept art then that would be disappointing, but truthfully haven't we all grown desensitized to large companies stretching the truth to generate buzz? It sucks, but it's pretty commonplace now.

Think Car Dealers using the term "Like new" or food manufacturers saying "All natural"

I think this post pretty much explains it.
新生コンセプトアート literal translation is "rebirth concept art." the first character's literal translation is "new."

the translator probably got mixed up. /shrug

and as for people arguing that it's not "2.0 concept art" because it existed before 2.0 was announced... it's being used for 2.0. as a guiding concept. it's art. (put that together).
