I don't understand why MPK is upset about 2b leggings instead of the catgirls wearing them. Yuck.
Funny, I posted a forum thoroughly explaining a concept and went to the extent to photoshop an image to convey my idea further, yet everyone gives an obvious old troll thread the most attention to the point where it's a constant hot-topic.
This is either a troll thread or they truly believe what they are posting. In either case it needs to be ignored because this person is only looking for a fight not a discussion.
A toggle wouldn't hurt anyone.
Is it worth the time for SE to do it? It just might be. It would be nice for first time instances, but I couldn't care less otherwise.
Since when are thighs 18+ content? Do you not have thighs?
I agree. I'd hate to be the sprout who gets to Seat of Sacrifice and the party consisting of scantily clad rabbits and unfunny memers in animal attire.
Y'all keep calling out catgirls and rabbits, but lately it's all dudes I see in shiny speedos and other minimal garb.
Yes, me with all of my many skimpy glamours. (Gonna use spoiler tags so my sarcasm doesn't stretch the page too far.)

Look at that! So shameless!

Scandalous!

So much skin on display!
That's what my mom tells me.
Is OP new to fantasy or something? These "armors" far predate FF14. Never seen the cover of a Conan the barbarian book?
You could always toggle off the naughty cat girls by not playing the game anymore. Just a suggestion.
I just find the double standards ridiculous. Complaints about female characters showing some skin when it feels like there's 2x as many male characters running around the game wearing far less clothing and you hear almost no complaints about that... >.>;
I'm glad players can be themselves and let their freak flag fly in Eorzea, in whatever form that takes. Live and let live. People ought to do what they wanna do, and glam how they wanna glam.
I have heard lots of complains about scantily clad men, heck with the up coming male viera there was no end of folks voicing how they don't want thong wearing twinks in their game. I don't care either way, its just pixels, dress yah gals and guys how yah want.
Can I turn off all the Hrothgar dudes wearing chick glams like the wedding dresses, etc, as well?
(Joe Biden Voice), come on man, (Mitt Romney Voice), badly glam'd Hrothgar are people my friend.
( Random Crack Addict Voice) you're a lalafell what's it to u potatoe boy?
(Cute Little Me Voice), Dang O Nabbit don't u get what I mean, idiots.
(throws chair and kicks the pop machine on my way out)
What does it matter if someone doesn't see your glamour. You'd have to be on another level of narcissism to think you're that unique/special.
It's a fantasy were we can drees up in any way the game allows. It's also a place you can wear something nice or look hot without sitting in chewing gum.
I appreciate that some of the sights may offend some people. But just as names cannot hurt you pixels on a screen most certainly won't unless you invent reasons why they should.
This all falls in with if you want to live your life the way you want to, then other should be able to do likewise. As long as no one is getting hurt I should add.
Only if they allow us to have different color schemes for non-glamoured and glamoured. You will enjoy my mismatched colors. :D
Imagine asking for an option to disable other people's glamor in a game with glamor cash shop.
That guy's having a moment, but if you want a nuanced take on it I've seen the argument made to create a fully client side setting that dresses all players automatically according to their current job and level bracket, so that if you're looking at a level 80 PLD they'd automatically appear on your screen in the PLD AF4, or a level 65 AST would be wearing the AST AF2, and so on and so forth (unclear what this would mean for sub-50 characters, but ehn) which makes perfect sense to me from an immersion standpoint
I would not use this setting personally, but I support the preferences of those who would, because having more options is always better. It also essentially doubles as an accessibility option, letting you more easily determine what members of your party or alliance are doing what and standing where. It actually used to work that exact, literal way in PvP in the before times.
Why even bring up 'from a lore standpoint'? From a lore standpoint it's literally ridiculous and setting-breaking that there are even multiple WHMs in the first place, no matter what they are or aren't wearing. The entire system falls apart in seconds if you want to look at it in a way that's universally consistent, and it's good that, since it's a video game, we don't have to.
This troll thread should've stayed dead and buried. There is no discussion to be had here, just the same old tired arguments being repeated ad nauseam. Can't you people just live and let live?
I say, why don't we go a step further and make it so your own character is the only one showing up on screen? There, done, no more being offended by how other people look. Have fun walking around in an empty MMO.
That is a very generous interpretation of their comment. Somehow, I suspect they are much less concerned about job/level compatibility and more about... other matters. One might say they are trying to shove their political agenda down our throats in a fantasy game!
Oh no, make no mistake, I want nothing to do with his particular viewpoint but rather it'd be nice to get some actual constructive back and forth in here. To wit,
While sort of an extremist opinion, if someone wants the ability to freely toggle the display of other player characters in an open world zone, what exactly is the argument against them being able to do so?
