Once again, I state that I outperform 99% of the people I play with. Not 99% of PC players, not 99% of PS4 players, 99% of MY personal experience. This is a very, very tiny number of users. For that reason alone, I suggest you stop getting so riled up.

I know I outperform them because, as a healer, I watch them die to mechanic after mechanic without adapting or learning, I watch people not know their rotations, I watch parties disband time after time. I don't need a tool that is against the ToS to tell me I'm outperforming someone. 99% of 100, after all, is still only 99 people in a game filled with millions.

So please, leave me be.

edit: as an addendum, my whole point is that PS4 players not by default bad at the game. people must stop thinking this way.

I'm not riled up at all, I was just curious. I think you misunderstood my intentions as to why I was asking because I genuinely had no idea. Thanks for clarifying.

Anyway, I think PC players do have a slight advantage because of things such as the MMO mice, 144hz monitors, higher FPS, etc. but I don't think people on console are hindered or bad at all. I think playing on PC does let you go above and beyond if you want though.

That's a display of mechanical awareness, but not of numbers. Though, it's not unheard of for healers to be the highest damage dealer in a trap party... However. Most statements of "I outperfrom x% of players I meet" usually infers number performances. Not mechanics awareness. Not that mechanic awareness is bad to have (it's not), but that's the basis of most declarations like the one you made. Hence why people were asking for proof (in the form of numbers).

Yeah, you're right. It's not just because of third party apps; though the parser does help to theory craft and such. The things that aren't the parser are more so crutches like reminders of when x pops up, or so and such, or ping enhancers.

But I'd say it's mostly the stable FPS at 60 (which actually matters a lot, not saying PS4 pro can't reach it.) or higher, which can allow pc players to reach a higher ceiling, or things like a 144hz monitor, which is actually a pretty substantial difference in terms of reaction timing and inputs. Better fps responds better to inputs, being able to actually reach and see that fps lets you respond faster, and let's the inputs go in faster, due to severely low keyboard to monitor latency and such.

This is mostly what I had learned, but from what I could tell, it really is substantiated in truth. I learned this a while ago, but it's a fact.

And just to be perfectly clear: There are really good ps4 raiders. I don't think ANYONE can deny that, since they clearly exist. But I personally believe they cannot reach world first unless they live next to the servers w/ really good internet. Ping enhancers, system optimizers... that kind of stuff. Configuring, optimizing and bettering tcp connections and routes is what prob gives PC the biggest advantage. We all know that, the lower your ping, the better you can perform. 'Course that doesn't mean you will perform better.

But really. Theres no real point to this thread anymore after whats already been said and done as I see it, it's all done and dry, theres nothing left to discuss, the only thing thats left to discuss is whether or not people are in denial that PC players actually generally have an advantage due to hardware and software. But you can't argue it; its a fact.

What you can argue though is that if that actually makes you a good player or not... But that sounds pointless to me.

A ping enhancer? A ping enhancer is something that optimizes the tcp connection routes to whatever server you want to connect to.

To my understanding, it's like a vpn. It takes a specific route that lets you connect to the server easier and better via lessing the amount of "hops" of data that transfer from each route, thus lowering your ping and allowing a smoother experience.

I think a good example is like, instead of your data and inputs hopping 10 times to get to the server, it only hopes 4 times, thus allowing a cleaner gameplay experience. That being said, distance travelled is still a majority factor in how ping works, and thus even if you live on the east coast, the only way to further lessen your ping would be to get better internet after you use a ping enhancer.

Gonna be honest chiefs, I severely disagree with both of you. I use a ping enhancer. Without it, I cannot optimally play Machinist. Even with it, I STILL cannot optimally play Ninja. I live on east coast, and I need this just to play the game optimally on some classes. It's like night and day. You two must have seriously good internet if you do live on the east coast. Or, you don't optimize.

Sorry to burst your bubble but there are more 3rd party apps out there other than Parsers and mods lol. Most of them generally used by ppl who do "Endgame Content".

Remember FFXI's Windower/Lua Files/Gearswap? Your gear automatically changes depending on your action? I would not be surprised if there's a program like this that exists out there for FFXIV, where it automatically executes actions depending on situations. Only players who play the hardest of content would need such tools.

I dont think many people actually use those tools because they're unnecessary. If you need a crutch like that to play the game, the chances are you are not actually savage raiding at an above average level, or a top tier player at that.

I would say it classifies as cheating, tbh. And to that extent, I'm seriously certain that world first raiders never even use programs such as that. If they're so impaired that they have to use crutch programs to apply certain actions or do actions for them, then they probably are not able to play the game properly, because at that point, how do you improvise or adjust to different situations? That's just the thing-- you can't.

Not sure what you are arguing for exactly, I craft, I run all roulletes including expert, I run an FC I do the relevant weekly normal non savage tier weekly raid clears, who freaking cares if I’m doing it on a PC or PS4? Why demean people with an 11 year old worn out mean for something like that?

I don't care if you play on the PS4 lol. Do i look like i raid or do savage content to you? I'm just explaining to you in plain English why a select group of players might look down on you for being on the PS4. If you don't do Savage or Ex Trials why did you even make this thread?

The only group of players who care if you play on PC or PS4 are those Savage/EX trial Duty Finder groups you see on the Party finder.

If you want me to be more precise, the ones that are doing Titania EX, Vauthry EX and the Upcoming Eden Savage.

Those people don't care! I've never seen once in Party Finder people not including folks in Extreme or Savage based on their platform. Not only that, but my boyfriend and I play on PS4 and we completely rock those Extremes and previous savage fights. This is absolutely ridiculous.

When Eden savage shows up, Go join a Pug Party by yourself and you will find out what i'm talking about very quickly especially if you wait a few days, like around Sunday/Monday when it's almost reset and ppl are frustrated.
