The server is already heavily populated. It there aren't any new people available now to join your FC, Then its most likely the case they everyone on your server already has a FC. You might be better off growing a FC on a different server. Less competition.

I would go a step further and say lock every single server that is already consistently locked to new character creation. And keep them completely locked indefinitely.

Your FC has over 500 members. You're not exactly hurting for members. My FC, on the same server as you, has 23, and we're not hurting for members, either. Greg and Balmung have plenty of players to 'poach' (Note: I see FCless players all the time, go stand in Quarrymill), we don't really need new players. If you want to help new players, go into xPF and offer to take players through content. It's an overall good thing for the health of the game to let mid/low populated worlds get and potentially keep new players.

While my FC has over 500 members, at least half of them are inactive at any given time. We used to receive new applications every day. Now we will not. And it's not a simple matter of recruiting any old player. We are the largest LBGT guild in the world.

And to the person suggestin just recruiting on another server, we established our FC at the very beginning of 2.0 and are quite established where we are. Why should we have to move?

So you just want to keep your FC count bloated?

What everyone obsession with having one mega server? These posts are like going to a concert and all the tickets are sold but still demanding they let you in.

No, we just don't have the time or patience to kick everyone when they go inactive. We wait til we hit cap, then clear out the most inactive to make room for new invites. Lots of those inactive players just come back for story at new patches.

I'm not obsessed with a mega server. I'm obsessed with being able to invite new players into my FC, which has been establish on the server since day 1 of 2.0

I kind of want the opposite. I would transfer to a lower pop if the Gil restriction was ever removed.

Yes it was upped, assuming a person only has 2 retainers and no extra, a person could move 20 million gil with the transfer congestion. 10 million on character and 5 million on each retainer.

Okay? It's still superficial bloat you're fighting for. Without new players coming in, your count may drop, potentially taking away that self-appointed title of being the largest x guild in the world. I've yet to see you say how keeping the doors open on large servers will help new players. I mean, you already called our server 'toxic'.

I can understand with a FC of your size. However, you also mentioned the toxicity of your server. With half of your FC inactive, it sounds like your leadership and members really need to weigh your options as a whole and decide what is best. Especially with a new expansion right around the corner.

These servers have had limitations for quite some time now. Every FC on a high population server should be weighing their options for what is best. Gil and houses are temporary things that can be regained. High Pop servers will always have limitations adjusted to keep stability.

Like I noted in my other post- not particularly bothered with retention. Sounds like you just want to keep people coming in.

By the way, there's LGBT friendly FCs on pretty much every server my GF has created an alt on. So being "the biggest" isn't necessarily the best thing you can offer as opposed to actual QoL for your members.

I actually didn't know it was increased but I still would need to use some type of a work around even if i had the max amount of retainers i could use. Still good to know it has been increased :)

Your transfers will be free, you get extra bonuses if your whole FC transfers, you'll be compensated for any houses you own in full, the gil transfer cap was increased, you get bonuses to exp gain up to level 60. You're being offered incentives you're just not bothering to actually read which isn't anyone's fault but your own.

You can also play the market. I have server transferred 2x, each time I created an alt on the target server and compared market prices. So I could on a conservative level gain all my gil back and even make more than I had buying the right things on my old server to sell on the new.

Honestly I don't think you have to work too hard. My friend moved from Gilgamesh to Balmung and lost gil in the markets. (Over 100mil etc down by a certain percentage I can't remember). I imagine it's the same for other worlds. I think you might gain or break even on gil easily.

I mean wouldn't the best way be to just buy up all the Allagan Pieces on the market? Yeah you may lose some in the process but seems like it would be a lot easier.

SE could remedy the supposed over-population problem through a variety of different means that would not potentially harm the communities on high population servers, or at least disclose the date when the restriction will be lifted [see OP for ideas].

I can't find myself to trust those percentages when you've shown to lack outside knowledge. You keep saying little servers have no community, but you're simply wrong. How about I play along with that thought?

Balmung's "community" (I'm beginning to think you mean playerbase at this point because a smaller community can be way better than a bigger community) has grown so large that the only ways into the server were through paying 18 USD and waiting for the servers to come back up after a fix. That's an issue. It's also gotten so big that there needs to be a queue sometimes. That's also an issue, since it seems that Balming and Gilgamesh are the only NA servers out of 25 that need to get a queue (as it appears to me). It's also locked most of the time, which is not normal at all since there are 25 NA servers. If this is the case, then the community has grown too large there. SE is not restricting the community's growth because the community has already reached its limit. The only reason you're getting these ghost towns is because everyone's being persuaded to go there for no real reason. Balmung seems to be the only detriment to the smaller servers, and there's no denying that. If it wasn't, why are there empty servers? If we weren't all focused in on one server then we could have healthy communities that everyone can find a place it that have ideas that match their own. The only places whose community has been prohibited from growing are the smaller servers.

And SE has done something great. They aren't trying to fill in other servers to make them match Balmung, they're trying to get the population down so there aren't as many issues. I can see that you're not even going to try to see from the opposing side because you said "supposed overpopulation" when it's clear that it is. No other servers are having issues like Balmung is (as far as I know).

Back yourself up. I can and have read just fine. My issue is that NONE OF THESE BONUSES ARE SCURRENTLY ACTIVE. We know nothing about the details of when they will be. So right now, my FC cannot accept new members because SE hasn't done anything accept lock the server.

We got to the point where the discussion has devolved to identity politics and perceived opression.

I say this thread has now outlived its potential for any constructive exchange of ideas.

I didn't say you can't read, just that you will not. It's very clearly stated that those bonuses are available when Stormblood becomes active. There are people already on your server without FCs, there are on every server. Not that it matters, since you appear to be one of those FCs that just wantonly invites players while providing nothing but FC buffs at best. Your server is full. Either deal with the result of that or move servers.

Square-Enix did not lock them out of the communities, the communities locked themselves up in a full server.

Unfortunately most MMOs will lock servers when their populations get too high. SE isn't unique. There are actual maximums for server data and unfortunately the community you want to join is on one of those. They could have done nothing and the result would have been the same. You'd have been unable to join the community because the server would stop functioning properly. Just wait to see what happens with these new transfer incentives. If the server population goes down, you might yet get your shot.

In which way? I want to play RP. Balmung is the only server with a real big RP Population. So I personally say "Fuck you Square-Enix, you suck and everything you produced after Final Fantasy 10 sucks" and I think everyone who wanted to play on Balmung for various reasons and got locked out should do the same. If Square wants to lower their population, we should help them.
