Things like this just make me not want to follow your etiquette even more. People are under no obligation to do such a thing.

Surely there are people on Balmung who feel the same way. It's not just me. It's just a poor attitude to have to expect everyone to abide by such rules. Just like people yelling about early pulls make people not want to share hunts anymore.
Be happy when you get something. Move on when you don't.
As a person on Balmung, I agree entirely with this.
A group isn't obligated to wait for stragglers, nor are they obligated to tab out to update a tracker site. Hunts did not come with a set of special rules. You kill the thing and get the rewards or you don't. Thats it.
There is also the problem that a hunting group pours all the time in spawning or finding the hunt..then are nice enough to shout it in chat and wait, only to have so many people there that there might even be a chance that they wont get anything or barely anything after its killed and may even have to take the insults because someone took their sweet time to get there.
If they had a system where the first ones that found it as a group are always the onces that are certainly getting the reward than maybe more are willing to shout it.
You know, it's funny to me. Hunts are the only content outside PvP that could really be described as competitive. Content that rewards good players and players that work hard because they out compete others. And yet, we have a cadre of players who under the guise of being considerate to others are decrying the competitive nature of the hunts. Honestly if you think that you can do it better, get out there and do it, beat the other guy to the mark. That's what hunting is, it's 100's of players in zones all searching for the hunt marks so they can slay them for a reward, you are truly competing with each other. All the crap about waiting, or early pulls or any of that is - not to put too fine a point on it - 'loser talk'.
If you don't get to the mark in time for the pull or to gain credit, so be it, you were too slow or in the wrong place at the wrong time. Whining about it and complaining about early pulls or people not waiting long enough is simply to cover the fact that you didn't make it to the hunt.
And that's coming from me, someone who I am sure many here consider to be a card carrying SJW.
As another person on Balmung, I agree completely too.
Pretty much this. I'm someone that's been subjected to, accepts and understands competitive PVE content from early on in my MMO career. So losing or missing a hunt doesn't phase me at all in the least.
I can't help but feel the "This is why we can't have nice things" vibe ringing from this sentence. We try to be competitive, we're grievers. We cave in and wait, trying to help, we're still grievers for not waiting long enough. SE sees all these comments and assumes people don't like competition and we may never see anything like it again in the open world. A real shame, and punishes those who actually love the competitive nature and just takes the loss of a kill with stride. Maybe add in FFXI Kings for a month or so with the same claim system, let them know what real loss of a 'hunt' feels like, might stop them crying so much over losing a couple of what we currently have.
I'm not much for hunts myself.
But I see no reason that you should be expected to share something you/your group found with the entire server.
It's nice if you are willing to but in no way a requirement.
Waiting for people that aren't even in the zone when it's called sounds like considerable generosity to me since you're sharing with people that weren't even helping to find it/spawn it in the case of S ranks.
I think you missed the ops post and mine too. We are both speaking about a specific group of people on Ragnarok in relation to hunts and pulling them the instant they arrive. They rarely spawn/find the mob but use Linkshells to get info and then attack on arrival.
On Ragnarok there's a whole FC having fun fast pulling all the NM to troll all the other player, and while no measure can be taken against them, we can be reported if we reset the NM to help people coming for it.
I think you guys have the idea of good behavior wrong.
frankly don't like it why not go out and solo kill the lv50 A ranks most can be soloed I mean still get seals on both types maybe not as much but least doing that can get the seals and can stick it to these bad hunters too so a win/win
Yeah, I know this group of people! Someone destroy their LS in which they actively discuss spawn timers and methods to spawn S ranks!
They spend most of their time online actively searching for A and S ranks, do they even have a life?!?!?!? Whenever they find one, they have a big enough party to actually kill it, can you believe it?!?!?!??!?!
They don't even let me finish watching Netflix, so I always arrive late!!111
This makes me so sad that I cri everytime.
If they are using linkshells and responding faster than other people in the same linkshells..... clearly the other people don't seem to care as much if they respond so slowly, because if they cared, they would respond faster. Especially given the supposed notoriety of this group that quick pulls stuff.
I still think they just need to give S ranks a lot more HP.
It's kind of silly how much more HP the rare FATE bosses like Coeurlregina and Odin have when their rewards aren't even going to matter to anyone who's already killed them a few times.
