Yea these look really good. I would much rather have updated bodies or these inplace of a new race as someone said earlier.

I'm a vote for proportional bodies as well. At a bare minimum, sliders. No reason not to. I personally find the forced choice of a diety, and all the semi-occultic aspects of the game more concerning then the apparent body shapes in the game...and yet I'm still capable of overlooking those and play it!
Not sure why adding more shape would concern people...there are just as many people out there who sexualize thin shapes as there are those who sexualize curvy shapes...or even thick shapes for that matter. Don't believe me? look at the crop of fashion models over the last 2 decades. If anything, this game is promoting the exact same issue that those models do. that for some reason skinny is better. I'ts not. adding more curve or more thickness options would be better IMO for people in general. Personally, I find it less of a sexualization issue and more of a pointed direction in design.
The sheer fact that it's so flat that it's noticeable should say something. I often won't noticed some body features if they look what I would consider "normal". Like the calves and legs on most the models look very normal to me (a bit long, but proportion isn't out of whack) But when I see a pair of legs literally shrink as they come into the glutes area...It seems pointed. Like they shrunk them to prove something. That's just as bad IMO as making them too big. better to just let people set them for what they like.
I'd like a shoulder slider too...to me looking at my character is weird bc her shoulders are so small XD but maybe my friends/family are weird and everyone else has no upper body? lol
Let me tell you about the "logisitics" of SDKs - They all have a hide option that is tied to a "Shift+F12" by default that is STANDARD on any and all SDKs - FFXIVs SDK is no different so the only work that would ever go into a "hide character model" feature is the UI work neccesary to allow us to utilize it - The script is already there and utilizes a command unknown to us AT THIS TIME - So the logistical side is a non factor - as for the ethical excuse - people should have thought about that before they even started acting or dressing in a manor that offends people of different beliefs and opinions. Most of the time - we'll eat that 30 mins if we run across someone that we simply do not want anything to do with (which we don't usually have to because folks always fill in house)
Nice try tho - The hide player character model is already STANDARD in the SDK, with enough support, would be very simple to implement =)
you are still here, and STILL trying, You are trying so hard... so very hard, it's almost to cringy at this point, Do we need to do this again? Every post you make at this point just makes my head hurt because of your utter nonesense.
I can assure you if the development team is looking at this thread they are probably dying of laughter and how silly most of what you said here is, Do not kid your self. Nothing you "suggested" is even remotely worth taking into considiration, because it's a joke.
Look, i'm not going through this with you again. But that was funny to read. so thank you.
I was going to mention this. I'm guilty for loving boobs, so my slider is at the max, but the only gear I've worn thus far that makes it look like I have anything are the coatees, yet bikini tops and the like seem to make them actually look smaller. :|
I don't want to look like an adult star either. In fact my character is usually covered from head to toe, but it's not like SE avoids giving females well-endowed proportions. Just google image Tifa Lockhart. But yeah, I would like bigger boobs please.
Whoa! Hold on just a second. It doesn't have to be about sexualizing your character. We can already do this, and don't need help from sliders. Appreciation of the body form across all races is called aesthetics. There is nothing pervy about making your character visually appealing even if this entails bigger boobs, buldges, or curvier bodies. You are the one that has to look at him/her every moment of the game you're logged on, so I think it is actually quite important that you like what you're looking at.
Kinda funny - because the conversations I've had not only with several GMs but the developers themselves @ GDC (well, some of them) makes me believe that they're quite receptive to my suggestions - Your mental ineptitude is showing, they are a "middle of the road" mentality in that studio and will try to meet everyone at the middle.
Where is the perversion in asking for the option to give my character back the butts/curves we had in 1.0? It's not like people wanted the option to run around completely naked for real. I could agree with that being a request that goes too far.
Personally I find the bikini tanks to be laughable and silly, but who am I to say that people can't do that?
I will never understand the sheer rabid hate that always comes when people ask for bigger butts.
don't waste your time, this is why i stoped responding, when nothing happens, blade may see the error in which he/she is asking. especially considering the false hood in witch he/she thinks it's perversion was the point they will never be taken seriously.
Yes, we live in a world where heads get can get cut off, people cut in half, exploded, anything, but really over sensitive kids that think showing to much skin is "to much" will start to riot.
To them it doesn't have to actually 'sexual' it's what they perceive as sexual.
Ironically, prudes see MANY MORE things as 'sexual' than people who are a lot more open about sexuality. The irony of this projection is lost on them, and they'd probably be a lot happier if they lightened up.
I'm going to offer a brief moment of clarity for those that would rather take one side or another on what shouldn't even be an argument. To all commenting and considering the desire to have change or ability to change our character's proportions, or are against it all together. Look at yourself, and ask yourself if you're just some sexual creature due to your own proportion, or if you are aware that we're all truly different and are not meant to be attuned to one body type.
This is not for those who want to SJW the idea of changing our characters, this type of threads offers those to express the opinion on if it's necessary or not. Do not make this an unnecessary discussion about sexualization or the like, because you're intentionally bringing something that feels entirely unnecessary, and I have a feeling some people who are doing this, are aware of it.
Sexualize? Everything in this game is sexualized. Do you see the gear and cosmetics they give us. We even have breast sliders Lalafells. LALAFELLS. Too late to even mention it, and how sensitive do you have to be to call an actual 'butt' sexualized? Then again, lets look at the definition of sexualized.
def: make sexual; attribute sex or a sex role to.
Hm...so the little boob sliders we have is, "GASP" sexualizing out characters!? First off, that sexualized nonsense is a blank statement. Being perverted, also pointless. Know how many players walk around in a bikini fighting monsters some dyeing their tights to look naked, guys running around in subliguars, women running around in subliguars!? Get out of here with that. You can place the blame where it should be, SE. Unless your a person who gets offended at the slightest leg opening of a guy who just wants to adjust his pants on a bus, and scoff at a women with a shirt with her breasts that're bigger than yours and sit out of her shirt, there's no reason REALISTIC butts should bother you.
Also, here's the thing about being realistic. You realize our faces are rarely zoomed in on 90% of the game, so any more visible features would be your characters body proportions, right? What'll be realistic is when people learn to stop being phased at the image of a pixalized butt in-game.

Yep, didn't forget this. They wish they could be accurate in this picture. Is that sexualized or is it actually normal?
I just felt like this warranted repeating.
Those that think this game is being "overtly sexual" or "sexualizing" women (and men)--the only reason you think the game is doing this is because you are perceiving curvy women (and men) as being overtly sexual. Female Miqo'te want their 1.0 curves back? Not overtly sexual at all; only to those that make it as such. Female Roe would like to be a little more voluptuous and curvy? Not sexual at all--unless one makes it so. In my opinion, the ones "sexualizing" this game are the ones who claim that people who want their character to have a little more variety with regards to body types are perverts. Body sliders are only "overly sexual" or "perverted" if you try to make it out as such.
I want my character to have more curves: more specifically, a rounder and less-flat behind. That does not make me a pervert just because I am not a fan of her pancake butt. And it does not mean I am sexualizing my character because I ask for her to have curves, and not be a stick. I don't see how this is really any different from one looking in a mirror and saying: "I wish I wasn't as flat as a board" or "wish I had an hourglass-figure." It's called preferences, and just because we want more variety does not mean we are perverts. Please stop using that argument.
If you don't want there to be body sliders because you would rather, I don't know, SE add a new race instead? That's fine. Or you are concerned about the strain it could have on memory when running on certain machines. That's fine. But don't sit behind your computer screen and make those of us that just want variety out to be terrible, perverted individuals. I can say with certainty that those posting in this thread that are pro-sliders are hardly doing it so they can get off to their virtual character. Stop generalizing us, and stop labeling us.
I just want my miqote ass to not look like its being eaten by itself. It can be Mei-Lings butt for all I care.

I actually do feel this is a bit sexualized, but it's not so much in the shape of her body (which is fine) and more in how 1. she's posed to show off both her boobs and her butt at the same time (which usually isn't really anatomically possible) and 2. her skirt riding up so high she's probably flashing someone (and I don't think she's a Paladin... )
Some decent textures would be nice too. Some of them are just... come on.
THIS IS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT^ Oversensitive
1. Stop making stuff up. He's holding her waist making her torse move backwards since he's moving away from something, flinging her chest back exposing the side of her boob, which is also pretty normal sized compared to most miqote females.
2. the fact that the DRK is holding her by the waist lifting her skirt up is the most likely the reason her skirt looks like that. You can also see a crease starting just above his arm because of how he's holding her.

Something should be done about it. My gf is basically wanting to not play this game because, she does not enjoy the bodies.
yes better to proportionate bodies! not asking for something exaggerated but something a little more reasonable
i mean... just look at how flat butts are D:

Waist on equipment?? If you ask me the designer just wanted to gorge all the gear with belts so they would clip through the gear if they added too many in which he didn't want that. Just give the butts back already and make the area around our butts just expand the armor like Phantasy Star Online 2.

The team better take the community request seriously. We've been asking for better character customisation for too long now. They should improve the character models and customisation options for everyone. We are not at the point where the game had no time or budget and had limited time to rebuild the failed 1.0. I understand some things were left out of the development back then due to limited time. But we've come very far since then. They should improve that character creation screen.
I expected a reaction like that. I'm not being "oversensitive", a bit of sexualization is fine every once in a while, and I never said that it isn't. Just don't deny that this picture is one of those times. Just because there are "reasons" for it doesn't mean it isn't a sexualized pose.
I already said everything in this game is sexualized. Its the reaction for people to be so shocked to see a butt or boobs like some child going through puberty. Sexualizing something makes it noticeable to be a specific gender. "OMG look they have boobs!" I feel like people are basically doing this and it just makes them seem childish.
Yeah, since 1.x days were a bit uncertain and risk taking, ok..fine. But now the game is doing exceptionally well and the cash shop, etc. It is high time we got our 1.0 bodies back and perhaps even visible belts.
People have indeed been asking for this for a long time...
