10.) Dungeons
1) proper landmarks and better landscapes (no repeating geometry)
2) more humanoid enemies (not reusing of player models)
3) more gear and cool weapons
4) new classes
5) chocobos and other mounts (reptiles and so on)
6) a fun battle system
7) Housing
8) Phantom Train
9) Pets (not beastmaster and summoner)
10) More content in general
Why more content if you can't enjoy it with the current battle system? Thank God they are changing soon. And hopefully it is WAY better and more challenging than before
1) More Unique Areas/Maps/Mobs
2) More NM's Instanced, Roaming, Leve, and more
3) More Unique Equipment with Rank Restrictions
4) Faster Traveling Ways (Airships, Chocobo's, anything else)
5) Rank Restricted Group Battles
6) Raise the Rank Cap w/Content for those ranks
7) Raise the difficulty of mobs Rank 30+ (Scale SP/difficulty with party size)
8) More Common Repeatable Mini-Quests/Gathering Quests
9) A Home (Mog House)
10) Advanced more Distinguished Classes/Jobs (make stats assignable by class)
And always MORE CONTENT, you can never have too much content.
I posted that earlier, here is the link:
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...transportation
N.o...e.s.c.a.p.e.!
1. Some Serious Content. Like traversing the snow filled mountians of xarcabard to vanquish the shadowlord, or fighting off the emptiness that plauges the land, befriending a cursed girl and sending a demon god back to hell/cosmos where he blongs. Stuff like that which make the game fun. but this time make it soloable and keep the group stuff for the dungeons/parties.
2. More Beastmen (Not animals)
3. A real Auction house already, just scrap the damn retainer code already and give us what we really want. Retainers are nothing more than glorified bazaars, Leave them in the game to function as such.
4. Real quests with real story and cutscenes.
5. Definatly a mog house of somesort even if it does not have a moogle.
6. NGP(Next Gen Psp) REMOTE PLAY OPTION FOR THE PS3 VERSION !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(BEST IDEA EVER)! ! ! ! ! ! I would pay extra for this. (Would also like this for FFXI) <<< LOOK HERE SE
7. Ability to destroy my Linkpears/Linkshells
8. Beastmaster/Summoner/Blue Mage as advanced jobs.
9. Less Gear damage (Solved in a patch) Thank you, Sincerly gratefull for this, Only reason I am still playing FFXIV.
10. Ability to switch nations and change last names.
PS... Please see number 6.
1. Quest lots more lots lots more
2.Transport (Chocobo's, Airship etc.)
3.Market Wards replaced with Auction House and have them all linked
4.Wider Monster Variety some of the monsters have just been slapped with a new name an different skin [Star Marmots/Wharf Rats]
5.PVE Events
6.Better Loot [monsters on occasion are known to ingest someone and their fancy gear you know]
7.Removal of SP fatigue
8.Wider Variety of Weapons and Weapon Skins [2h swords, 1H axes, 1H/2H Maces. we want a Fancy sword that is known from other final fantasy games.....need i mention FF10?]
9.An NPC that repairs gear...
10.Swimming, Jump Function
1. More mobility for my character (jump, be able to climb of objects, reach spots on the map that are blocked by invisible walls).
2. More character customization (more colours, more styles, more special features [scars, etc.]), both during and after character creation.
3. More 'personality' for the wildlife (predators attack weak preys, aggressive animals that tries to ambush players, passive animals that tries to hide, curious wildlife, etc.). I am VERY disappointed SE removed the curious/fleeing behaviours.
4. Less lag during combat, I want to be able to hit and evade the monsters attack properly. Not have a 1 second delay that makes me miss the monster because it started moving 1 second before my actual strike, or being able to evade it's attack properly, not be far from it and still get hit because on the server side I'm still in range... 1 second delay.
5. Skills, abilities, traits that are fundamentally different in each class, not just copy/paste with another element.
6. More cross-class skills, traits, abilities from all disciplines, even disciplines of the hand and land for combat and the other way around (e.g. ranks in gladiator makes swords easier to craft, or something like that; ranks in alchemy makes you less vulnerable to poison, for example).
7. A bigger diversity in the size of monster, very small ones and very big ones. Not only oversized monsters.
8. Make the world more dynamic, like, make objects appears in the wild. I mean, for miners: chunk of ores, for botanist: flowers and herbs, for quests and leves: more actual objects that we can see. Glowing lights are nice, but not enough in my opinion, something is missing.
9. Make the NPCs more alive, make them take a walk in the city, make them come towards players and ask them informations, etc.
10. More linkshell customization, more than just a social group, a real guild. Hopefully companies will truly bring this.
dev1008, dev1003, dev1032, dev1034
I hope this information if being given to the devs.
Top 10 Realistic Changes That Should be Implemented Pronto:
• Action bar should remain visible while weapon is drawn.
• Remembering skill/action sets for each class.
• A button on the action bar where you can toggle AOE for offensive spells and one to toggle AOE for friendly spells (with associated hot-keys).
• Further freedom to keybind to keyboard/mouse.
• Drag and drop functionality for such things as setting your actions or inventory items.
• In-game mail system.
• Reducing unnecessary mouse-clicks. Example being the ability to open the aetheryte menu by clicking the aetheryte icon instead of it just opening the main menu.
• Prompt with Return button shows upon death (if raise offered, adds button to accept raise).
• Proper Linkshell controls like inviting and booting from anywhere as well as viewing such info as what zone the character is in, their level, last online, etc.
• Additional hairstyles; particularly for those with only 4 to choose from.
Top 10 More Ambitious or Less Realistic Changes:
• Smaller more diverse zones rather than a few giant sprawling monotonous zones. The entire zones do not need to be overhauled, but rather given different ambient effects and change up the ground clutter and/or enemy populations.
• Diversify camps so they aren't all nearly identical. Different structures and feels based on location (at the very least, different styles for the 5 existing zones). Changing these first two items would assist in the feeling of progression in the world which is lacking sorely at the moment.
• "Dynamic" content. Enemy outposts that can be overtaken for zone-wide buffs or other rewards. When participating, an icon shows up with your other notifications that you can press to join a group that is participating in the area. At random intervals, enemies can attempt to retake the outposts starting a defensive event.
• Improved spell effects. Currently most magic is different color explosions. Would be nice to see the effect originate from the cast and travel to the enemy more often (hurling fireballs, for example).
• Travel (Chocobos and inter-city airships).
• More NPC life. Additional idle animations as well as walking around town. Previews of the different cities showed children playing and NPCs passing each other and waving. It'd help give life to the cities (particularly the two less active cities).
• Ability to dye gear after it has been created to the other already currently available colors.
• Reducing invisible walls by allowing certain ledges to be climbable and/or the ability to "jump" from them.
• Replace aetheryte camps entirely with actual quest hubs. Little towns or outposts with quest-givers located in the towns. They can give the exact same quests guildleves give now and they can be repeatable but it removes the mechanic of needing to talk to a crystal and gives the area a bit more life.
• Implementation of an Auction House.
• Finally, the missing genders as playable characters.
Agreed well said Tonka some good ones there ^^
*gasp* Tonka has posted! Alert the Twelve!
Top 10 change I'd like to see.
1) chocobo rentals/raising. Even if it at the anima systems's expense, I'll take it. FF's mascot is horsebirds that "Kweh!" Not bubbles that go "Fwoom."
2) linkshell system changes. My linkshells's reformed twice now, and might be due for a third, the management system needs to be more helpful, possibly add multiple ranks or ways to govern it (vote system, leader approvals?,good ol iron fist?)
3)bazaar retainers- I want to sell more stuff on my retainer than on me. Their idle shuffling is worse than the gunclicks in dfo. Also, would a little sale history, notification that something sold, hurt anyone?
4) more stuff we can do with crafting, I like the local leves and all butmaybe there's something I can do in a group of crafters, or for the city...
5)city related events akin to FFXI's campaign system. FFXIV can take this system and run with it. Imagine fighting for the crafing guilds on outposts, crafters making the lastest doomsday weapon to use, gatherers doubling as sappers and suppliers...
6)storylines/endgame events branching back to the cities- I understand the need of getting people together in hubs, but uldah's made the other cities virtually ghost towns, this will be worrying once ishgard comes out, worsening the effect.
7) chat tab customization/chat windows, I lose my place in lschat with the other info that comes up...
8)mob behavior, if they're going to stick with that gaudy aggro sticker, that can vary how they aggro, make them attack based on range or certain behaviors, or if they're bite sized lalafell...fighting behaviors can be changed too, but I think they are doing a good job so far.
9)fighting stances, probably wishful thinking to be included later, but I'd like to change how my character puts up their dukes, or at least make more job abilities you can toggle to adapt to battle, like guard, for the other classes.
10) more crafting recepies, can't go wrong with that!
Lol, thanks.
One that I forgot that definitely belongs high on the list is the stopping to draw or sheath your weapon. Do not want.
I hope so too, actually. I originally thought to myself: Square Enix probably already knows what people want, but they have no idea what people want "the most". They could literally tally all the results here and put it into priority chart.
Sadly, because of the translation work that would need to be done, I doubt they would take this thread seriously.
While I like the list overall, there are some caveats.
1. The action bar can't remain visible, otherwise those of us who use a controller (a demographic who will probably be SE's mainstay once the PS3 version is released) have no way of targeting.
2. I really hope they implement this.
3. This would be a good addition again for those who are using a keyboard/mouse, but I would like it to be optional since the current method works well with a controller.
4. Agreed.
5. A mail system would be nice, but only if it is actual mail only, no gil or items. Bonus points to SE if they implement a feature so that LS leaders can send out mass-messages.
6. It would probably be easier just to make aetherytes selectable like other interactable objects like chests. I do feel they should revamp the UI and have two separate teams for keyboard/mouse and controller UI management, however.
7. Only if they keep the prompt out of the way. I hate having my view obscured by a res dialog box so very, very much.
8. Agreed. The fact that LS leaders currently have no way of booting offline members really, really makes me question their competence.
9. And faces, and accessories, and all the other stuffs that are severely lacking atm.
1. I would rather see the latter without the former. Nothing breaks gameflow more than constant load screens.
2. Agreed. SE was really lazy when it came to stuff like this.
3. Dynamic content is always good. As long as it's not done like LotRO's skirmish system.
4. Agreed. The spell AND attack effects are really atrocious for a Final Fantasy game.
5. I need mah horse birdy! ^-^
6. I like this, but I would also like to see NPCs have different day/night cycles, which I've heard FFXI has.
7. Yes please. This is available in Aion and it's really handy to have.
8. Invisible walls need to beaten with a stick. I don't mind them in general, but they're FAR too frequent in the game.
9. No. I and many others are tired of playing NPC roulette. I honestly feel like the guildleve system has the potential to be a better system if they simply fix it. There are a lot of good ideas in the game like this that simply fail due to poor execution.
10. Only if it can be done in a way that leves the market ward system as the primary economic structure in the game. Otherwise, no.
11. I don't really mind one way or the other, but I know lots of people would like to so I hope they implement these at some point.
While I like the list overall, there are some caveats.
I appreciate the feedback!
1. The action bar can't remain visible, otherwise those of us who use a controller (a demographic who will probably be SE's mainstay once the PS3 version is released) have no way of targeting.
Okay. Then the option to have it stay up in the config or something along those lines.
5. A mail system would be nice, but only if it is actual mail only, no gil or items. Bonus points to SE if they implement a feature so that LS leaders can send out mass-messages.
Yes, a LS MOTD would be great independent of a mail system. But I'd still like to be able to send mail. Would it not be a good idea because of RMT? They sure do strip a lot from the game due to fear of RMT.
6. It would probably be easier just to make aetherytes selectable like other interactable objects like chests. I do feel they should revamp the UI and have two separate teams for keyboard/mouse and controller UI management, however.
I was going to mention that. The ability to select the crystal just like they did for treasure chests. That'd be great.
9. And faces, and accessories, and all the other stuffs that are severely lacking atm.
Lol, yes.
1. I would rather see the latter without the former. Nothing breaks gameflow more than constant load screens.
I don't mean zones like in FFXI. I'm sure I worded it poorly. But just so there are areas that vary from section to section. The landscape can pretty much stay the same but change the ambient feel (like the purple weather in Mor Dhona) as well as mob variety and little details. Just something to set the different sub-areas apart.
9. No. I and many others are tired of playing NPC roulette. I honestly feel like the guildleve system has the potential to be a better system if they simply fix it. There are a lot of good ideas in the game like this that simply fail due to poor execution.
I'd be happy with the ability to pick up Camp Dry Bone's guildleves from an NPC at Camp Dry Bone (rather than the one in the town) or directly from that specific crystal.
1. Party search/flag/seek feature so that people actually use it (a /sea feature would be nice as well)
2. Autosort Inventory
3. Fix LS controls so we can remove inactives/troublemakers
4. Up anima regeneration. Nice to see return will one day eventually cost 0 and there is no need to find that Sandskin Pieste (due to how many times I death warp I now affectionately call him "Buttercup") outside of Uldah's gate to melt my face so I can "Return" where I need to.
5. Need a /roll system for loot as well as an implementation where it can be turned on and off by PT leader. Because I don't want to be in a behest where some douche constantly rolls on some stupid low lvl item that everyone would want but its not necessary to roll for.
6. Level adjustments to all the lvl 50+ mobs in crazy areas so that exploration and grinding is actually viable on more than a limited amount/types of mobs...it is unfortunate many of these Aetherial gates and nodes are rarely visited as there is little reason to even do so currently.
7. Some kind of health/sp fix between last patch and coblyn sp nerf (in other words they don't have to make it easy, just not as hard because it seems now people are solely depending on behest and leve links except in certain lvls or mob types..i.e. raptors)
8. Since we are on the subject of leve links....Up the sp buffer everywhere else instead of the world relying mainly on just Camp Broken Water R40's or other leves throughout Thanalan...maybe even raise buffer in a different city area on weekly basis (Limsa Guardian aspect bonus week or something)...or even different leves for other gates and nodes throughout a city's zones that have yet to be implemented. Otherwise by summer or PS3 release lag is going to be insane at some of these camps.
9. Stop making craft marks so difficult when other guild marks are easily acquired / crafting should be no different.
10. If I am going to camp a behest for an hour because this is what I'm reduced too..put an NPC vendor at each camp.
Added - Treants...(there was one in my cutscene, why isn't it in the game?)
1. Quests that aren't tied to a particular class/the main storyline. Something like a sidequest chain with a good (or heck, even decent) storyline. Have it reward some unique untradeable gear or unlock some feature, I dunno. Just make it feel worth doing. Preferably, there'd be a smattering of these at various ranks.
2. LS controls. I'm not even an LS leader, but I've listened to ours on vent plenty, and know that his last LS had to reshell at least twice because of non-active members.
3. Some sort of banking system. Right now, all the mats the LS is gathering for NM gear is sitting on our leader's alt, which makes finding out what's there and what's not more time-consuming than necessary. Even if it's only an LS bank, it'd be appreciated by many, I'm sure. Or, if I knew more about what companies are going to be like, I might say it'd work better there, I don't know.
4. Better looking ability animations. I know there's more wrong with the combat system, and I'm sure other parts of it should be higher priority, but this is the thing that comes to mind, for some reason. I shouldn't be saving TP up to do Simian Thrash instead of using something more tactical just because I want to see an actual animation, and only half of the animation, at that, because it ends as soon as I hit 1 again. . .
5. Some better way of searching for items we want, especially the ability to buy stacked items in any size group. If I want 9,999 Lightning Shards, I shouldn't have to break it up into smaller groups or wait for someone that actually has that many they want to sell to come along. I should be able to just put aside all the money for it and pay it out as people sell them to me in bits and pieces. This is especially bad since the searching and selling sides of our bazaars have a combined limit of ten items, meaning my proposed 9,999 shards would have to be ~1,000 at a time.
6. Have quality reflected in the item searches at wards. I've recently begun seeing people put 1 or 2 as the last digit of their sell price to denote HQs, but it would be nice to not have to check every single listing in the wards to make sure there's not a +3 lurking in there that's way under-priced.
7. The ability to see which local leves give marks before picking them up. Honestly, this should probably be higher on my list, but I'm just writing them as I think of them. You're already probably going to use more marks per crafting class than per combat class, and they come in smaller chunks, so there's no reason you shouldn't be able to at least pick leves you know are going to give marks.
8. Something that's challenging. Note that challenging and time-consuming are two different things. Right now, there are plenty of things that take up my time, but very few that I find challenging. Even the NMs aren't very hard, with the possible exception of the Giant Buffalo, because Sonorous Blast spam sucks. Also note that a low drop rate doesn't make something challenging, either, just time-consuming. The fact that Uraeus refuses to drop another skin is all that keeps our LS going back to him, because another skin and everyone that needs one in our LS will have a tricorne. This could actually be tied in with the quest chains from #1.
9. If SE wants to bring back the more traditional class names, many of us would like to see it done as a sort of unlocked class, similar to the job system in Tactics. Obviously, the specifics would be up to SE, but I've seen a fair amount of support for this idea on the forums.
10. Something to mitigate the fact that over half of one's inventory can easily be taken up with nothing but gear for various classes. One idea that's been brought up is a separate "Equipable Items" tab. Everyone I've talked to has had 50-60 pieces of gear in their inventory, not counting what's on their retainers. This would go a long way toward helping with inventory management.
Things that don't make the top ten or that I personally don't find pressing: a mail system; class-specific, rank-required gear; chocobos/airships; dungeons; more NMs. . .
1. both solo and party quests that are challenging
2. no more error 30002 EVAH!!!! (or at least a singnificant reduction of said error)
3. Player housing (from the humble cardboard box to homes worthy of the obscenely rich)
4. PvP, probably using the colosium in Ul'dah
5. Access to Ishgard
6. A 2-handed weapon for dd Gla (maybe a Zweihander)
7. A gunblade job class
1. More content in general... Quests, nation rank missions, etc.
2. Missing genders, at the very least. I'd like to see more races, but that will probably never happen.
3. More customization options.
4. PvP.
5. Mass PvE
6. A better battle system... although this is apparently already in the works.
7. Fun things to do, like mini games or tetra master.
8. Cooler armor designs! I miss a lot of the designs that I saw in XI that were neat.
9. Better class clarification. I miss my white mage... I'd like to have more defined roles and classes.
10. Auction House. FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY. PLEASE.
I have to disagree with the people saying "more stuff like FFXI", this game isn't supposed to be FFXI 2.0! I like the different class names. Stop trying to fall into complacency.
1. Jumping
2. Less menus
3. Smoother fighting (Faster ATB)
4. Changeable Key bindings?
5. ATB similar to FF13 where you can select multiple abilities :D instead of spamming a key
6. Something to help beginners understand how to play/start.
7. Slightly easier starting zones?
8. The ability to select all the loot you want/loot all.
9. A moveable world map -- I don't like being limited to staring at a radius around my character :< I have a map. Let me see the whole damn thing ^_^
10. Auction house :D -- But fees to use Auction House -- Free to stand around :]
(11. ADD A CARD GAME :D Like FF8 <3)
This list is more of a 1 - Most important 10 - Not as important as 1
And please. Never. Ever. Bring in a point system like WoW.
Ever.
EVERRR!!!!
1. Removal of surplus
2. more variety and amount of leves
3. improved target system
4. chocobos and airships
5. more variety of quests, no more kill amount of mobs, real quests with a purpose
6. more classic FF jobs
7. new areas and open up Ishgard
8. UI options, chance to activate/deactivate certain commands and windows such as autoattack and pop up windows, more action bars active or not, option to show or hide screen elements such as bag/emote icons
9. party and linkshell optimization such as showing where members are, what they are, remove/promote even if far, and sp/exp gain if leader is in another area
10. a vivid world, day and night make a difference, NPCs come and go, interactive fauna
9.
1. Better utilizing of video card & processor
2. Do something to make the party search actually useful
3. Hair and tattoo salon
4. more use for status effects like sleep, paralyze, blind, dia, etc
5. Class-Specific Armor Sets
6. Death penalty
7. Ability to change surname
8. Make the aggro mobs name appear red instead of the icon next to it
9. Name of attacked monster should change its colour for everybody in a party can see who is attacked right now.
10. Make all stats visible!
1. Regimens like in the opening movie. (Fighting the Marlboro)
2. Airships/Chocobos
3. More Story/Content/Lore/Areas
4. Story you can enjoy with your friends (So if people want they can enjoy the story together.)
5. New Classes (Possibly some obtainable through ranking other classes, then completing a quest for.)
6. More abilities/Better looking Abilities (Too many Gladiator abilities that are just a circle. =p )
7. Linkshell owned halls or ships, etc.
8. Rank matching. (So if you have a friend starting out, you can get down to his rank if he's in your party.)
9. New Races and Genders (Roegadyn Female, Highlander Female, Padjal Race)
10. Group crafting and Group gathering.
chocobos!!!
1. Take out the leve system seriously almost everyone seems to hate it so why are you hell-bent on focusing the most disliked aspect of the game? Make proper varied story-based content instead with player freedom on how to complete them. See every other Ff title you've made so far for reference. (except XIII naturally)
2.The quests suck. There are no cutscenes and the writing and gameplay are amateurish. You can do better, we've seen it.
3. The environments look boring again see every other FF title you've made for reference on what "unique" means.
4. The lack of death penalty affects every aspect of gameplay. Do something DRASTIC about it.
5. All the systems are designed to take away the freedom of choice.
6.All the crafting classes feel the same.
7. The main storyline makes no sense at all. Where did all your good writers go?
8. As there are only 4 main zones the music is REALLY repetitive. You've designed leves to keep the player in one zone for the whole play-session which makes this fault even worse.
9. If you put some stuff to see in areas then please take out anima it makes the game really disconnected and give us some Chocobos to breed and to use.(that sounds so wrong)
10.All the battles look and feel really child-like apparently you're already aware of this.
Eh?! But I like the leve system, it is very useful for casual gamers or random casual gaming sessions. I know more who like leve than people who don't. They don't have to take it away, you can simply walk away from the leve desk and you are done, if you don't like leve of course. :o
EDIT: Obviously, I never stated they can't add quests and other questing methods. The more questing choices (standard quests, leve quests, etc), the better.
1. Job System.
2. Teleport spells.
3. Something like MogHouse.
4. chocobo.
5. AF gear.
6. Merit point system.
7. End-game event's similar to die-namis/limbus/etc...
8. New special areas you can't access unless you finish chain of missions/quests. (like CoP/zilart area's)
9. Relic weapon. (I want it to be hard to get like in ffxi)
10. Delivery System.
