Opening up a PvP Zone/Area would even the odds a little but with FCs able to claim strat points for bragging rights and bonus to wolf marks for defense would omit all the ridiculous OP team concepts. Yes, in a zone you'd still have the big fish eating the little fish but with a 3 way fight the big fish would need to use some discretion on who to feed on.
The sad part is that I instantly thought of them too. The funny part is that their bot actually cycles through its dps rotation in town while it sits in the queue as well. The guy doesn't even try to hide it.
He actually has two characters that he plays often, and after his exp bot um... "accidentally" got killed by a swarm of angry aoe spammy mobs a few times, he actually talked to me. I got the typical "umad" response and he said to report all I want, and that he gets reported all day, but that SE will never ever ban him so he doesn't care.
We've been reporting them (his characters) for months now, from when they were exp botting, spiritbond botting, and now pvp botting. Still here though, and he's been doing it 24/7 since the game went live.

I guess you caught me. An Arcanist defending other Arcanists. I guess Yoshi P lied when he stated that SMN damage far exceeded that of other classes. Maybe stop assuming that I'm bad, and accept that SMNs have far more sustained and burst damage than is fair at the moment.
Oh gosh, the 1700 crit is from their "ultimate attack"? I never would've guessed. That's quite a bit of damage for a single attack from a pet. Maybe Yoshi P was on to something. If you're trying to dispute that SMN damage far exceeds other classes, you are doing a very poor job. The data has been collected, the plans have been made, the changes are already coming.
how about smns dont get battle rez in pvp thats the worst idea ever, if thats the case why wouldnt brd have battle rez since they're a support class? but who are we kidding brd is not a support class thats just a way to ruin archer/ranger anyways thats another topic. but seriously get rid of battle rez for summoners in pvp, some type of snare for melee how about a reduced healing move for melee to use as well since heals can be OP at times. I think then we're talking about balance, not about someone who is jumping away from melee if thats the case remove sprint from pvp as well since not only is he jumping away but now he's sprinting. gimme a break :/

Because Battle Rez is the only move that makes Summoners useful in parties like Sleep or Bards constant interrupts and stuns if Square removes battle rez from pvp then they have to remove interrupts and stuns as well as sleep also they will have to give casters an invincibility frame while casting to balance out everything.
I think some people want to complain enough so there class is the only class that is viable in PvP. If most people have there way Summoner's and Healers will be nerfed to unplayability and the only OP classes will be Bards and Dragoons while Black Mage and Tanks will be descent enough to last 15s in PvP.

Bards are insanely op in PVP because they can attack while moving as well as bind interrupt and stun. Also Bards have high bursts damage and they don't have to make any sacrifices by giving up mobility for extra damage.
Summoners have to work hard to get that insane amount of damage and wins that people complain about we aren't sitting back and pouring on the damage racking up easy wins like Bards
Stop trying to argue that Bards aren't op it's pointless because mechanically they are they don't lose damage when they are mobile they have high burst with Heavy Strike and Raging Strike I get hit three times by a Bard and I die they can't be interrupted by direct damage like casters and they have 3 different stuns so Bards have high reward and low risk which is the opposite of Summoners which is high risk and high reward.
SMN only does good DPS because of Bane. Without Bane, SMN would be like every other job.
I faced a group with one Bard in it back to back and that one Bard killed our entire team just by spamming Heavy Shot Venom and Bards there stuns and interrupts our way overpowered and unlike Melees Bards can sit back and pour on the damage.
Nerfing Summoners only creates another problem groups using 2 Bards to slaughter everyone if you think a Summoner is OP face a group of 2 Bards it'll be stun interrupt bind repeat and rinse then dead

Anyone who doesn't think summoner need a nerf has never fought a double summoner comp and had their entire team killed in 10 gcds. Fastest match so far? 35 seconds
We had what 2 Summoners of corse that will be OP that is just Dotting up everyone because the party is focusing on the other Summoner than hitting Bane and Fester to kill everyone. The Pet damage is negligible Ifrit does 134 dps on auto attack and 848 damage with Inferno. Garuda does between 200-220 damage on auto attack and 1248 for aerial burst under the Rouse and Spur buff.
Double Summoner comp will always be op it's basically double bind and band aoe to spread dots to everyone that is staying together then there is double enkindle. It's like if there were double black mages it will be double the sleep and double the flare to melt the opposing team and dead in 10s
Maybe SE should offer conditional buffs/debuffs depending on what's going on. Double summoner comp (if indeed it proves to be the best comp) could put a debuff to healing on both summoners so long as both are alive. It could debuff damage under the same conditions. Or the opposing party could get a resistance and or damage buff.
That might prove more beneficial than nerfing this class and buffing that class, because as we all know from MMO experience, it's a perpetual war that will never be won.
I play summoner and I very strongly agree that we do need a nerf, but I believe the nerf will be over the top. The 2 main things to nerf Summoners right now: Get rid of enkindle and Resurrection. Enkindle alone with boht pet buff for me has topped at 2400 crit. Include that in a energy drain + Atherburst + ruin 2 its about a 3600 burst. Anyone in my Battle group has probably seen it happen to their healers before. Getting rid of those 2 thing would nerf that burst and a huge utility. Another thing I would agree is put energy drain on a GCD with everything else so you cannot spam energy drain with ruin 2. for me thats about a 800-900 hit combo. That is all that needs to be done to bring summoners back into balance. This is my fair and honest opinion on the class.
Thank you so much for this. Finally a SMN willing to admit they critically hit for a very large portion of an opposing players health. I have been crit for 1700 as MRD with 204 Morale, and I have received nothing but harsh criticism by SMNs for saying so. +1 to you sir/miss.
I was testing the Summoner damage on the striking dummies and Enkindle with Rouse and Spur buff hits about 1448 and in PvP I tested it a view times and it crits for 2400 the skill has a 300s cd so it is only useful if the healer is dead otherwise I wouldn't waste it because it can't be spam. Without the Rouse and Spur enkindle does anywhere from 428-508 damage depending what pet is out. Rouse and Spur can increase the damage of pet by 30-60% and without buffs Ifrit does 45-50% of the Summoner and Garuda does between 60-65%. Black Mage I tested Flare for 1600 crit to nearby enemies and it can be spammed. Pre made groups with Double casters and Double Bards are the real problem and Square should give a healing reduction debuff to those party comps
