So yes, the very first replier got it right. If you get your first relic by beating Titan, congratulations! Now, there is 8 more jobs that you may or may not want to level up. If they are geared, you can get to Titan within a day with a good party. The problem is that our second, third and fourth jobs are never as well equipped than our fiirst one.
I would've been very happy of getting Titan's lance for my drg while doing my BLM relic, but whm staff and pld shield dropped, and they went to other ppl in the FC for their 2nd class.
To get a relic, you need to be on the job of that relic to beat titan. If you've spent all your philosophy on your first job, your second is probably very low on darklight gear, meaning you can forget about beating Titan with a whole party with that sort of gear, so, chances are you will be taking people through 1 by 1 or 2 by 2 using your main jobs on the other slots.
Oh, and wait until 8 out of the 12 ppl you play the most with say: i'm doing brd next (because we all know brd is broken and waaaaay too powerful). Trust me, you will be redoing this on your main job a lot...

About the fairy.... don't be a wimpy scholar and stand 10 miles away from other people or the boss, especially if you're not experienced with placing your fairy in tactically advantageous positions and keep just let it follow you around. The only attack of titans that will stright kill your fairy is the frontal swipe attack that is meant for the tank. Almost every boss fight has attacks that may kill you instantly, but wont scratch your fairy, and then others *the ones that shouldn't hit your fairy ever* that will murder it.
Titan is not one of those fights where you need to stand all the way on the other side of the platform. -

I've killed titan many times helping various people. The fight is tuned fine. As a whm, the best and easiest runs are always healed whm/sch. whm/whm is not fun, at all. It's possible, but a lot more work than it needs to be.

I haven't reached that point, but when you frame it in such a way that makes perfect sense and I haven't seen a worthy counterpoint. There might be something else they could add to his loot table in order to make the fight more worthwhile, but what? I don't think they'd want to give out Darklight (even though it's level appropriate) since it seems like the Tomestone system is designed specifically to keep people from getting geared up in 3 sessions. I spent the time and effort in upgrading all my gear for Titan only to be hindered by under geared players. They should be embarrassed in stepping foot into Garuda or Titan HM with L.23-L40 gear. Yes we had a Dragoon wearing a a few pieces of gear ranging from 23-39.

I cleared titan on my first night of attempting it with a group who's never done titan before and got relic on my SCH.
