I'd take this, or at least to 2.0 seconds, just so the animations don't look so jank when immediately back-to-back, if nothing else...

And an extra half-second or two of movement per Dualcast-step seems like it could go a decent way without seeming outright excessive.

an animation for slidecasts.

Just show our character rolling a little or something while shooting off the spell still. Lets go full super smash bros project M this expansion.

Rolling would look damn odd if you ever moved in more than a single direction per dualcasted GCD, but I could get behind some slight alterations to the casting animation itself (the character model movement) on instant-casts to give them a bit more flavor and fluidity.

There are times where if you accidentally use Moulinet too early (55-59 mana), you'd have to Zwerchau/Redoublement to get the 3rd mana stack. But this won't matter if they make Moulinet cheaper or have Impact give 4 mana instead of 3.

Yea come to think of it, the animation has always been alittle off for dual casting. Its one thing to have the animation play one way for when you finish a castbar, its another to have that same exact animation play twice when using dual cast. Maybe 7.0 could feature alittle variation or even pizazz (at the expense of zero lag of course) *unless that lag could be L canceled* bam another smash ref lets go!

That is true, Zwerchau/Redoublement do cost less than riposte. This does occasionally lead to times where we can meet requirements for the spell finisher even if we don't quite have the full 60/60 (moulinet x3) to do so during a aoe pull. This is something developers would have to consider if they were to condense the combo into one singular button. That hypothetical button better cost 15 mana, not 20!

I like how you chained that into a potential wish there, make moulinet cheaper and have impact give 4 mana. aoe buff!

I guess my take will be bad because I'm not a hardcore rdm player lol (it's one of the more enjoyable DPS currently)

I'd like more utility, "utility" tax does exist currently which would either mean you could remove it by removing rez (and magick barrier) and make it do close to BLM dps or you could add more to that utility... just adding more from current shouldn't be "taxed" because honestly the gap currently is already too much even after the buffs... but I doubt they would want RDM near melee damage, So maybe adding some utility without taxing it would at least help it to stand out from summoner currently which just is really mobile and has pretty much similar utility but way better self shielding, should at least lean more into that "white magic" aspect, So Ideally more utility just not at the cost of taxing the job. (Also utility needs to be more valuable then it currently is)

Personally I don't like the Idea of WAY more mobility (LIKE summoner has currently), But I wish for red mage to be more flexible with it's melee (Unsure how you can do that in "burst meta"), If it was down to me I'd want for even more "sword play" but rdm is already struggling from a lot of issues, Unless they make it very flexible (and burst meta somehow doesn't exist) then I guess anything's possible... I think they need to fix issues surrounding the job before it's even a discussion though, I just wish you'd actually use your sword more.

I just hope it's not like a 4th combo finisher and barely any changes from EW if anything, I'm kind of sick of how much combo finishers it's got now lol

We get three combos per two minutes. I wouldn't be surprised if some day they gave us the MNK Nadi treatment and did combo ending with Verflare finisher -> combo ending with Verholy finisher -> combo ending with Versuperfinisher finisher.
