Online Store is Getting Worse!

Even if it were, considering inflation is going off the rocker lately and how some countries have been absolute garbage at dealing with it, even people whom cosmetics were marketed for are now unable to afford them.
Because guess what, prices soar, but wages stay the same. If not cut back altogether.

Came to make a post about this myself today, almost surprised to see a thread already up. In general, I've nothing against the cash shop. I know it lets Yoshi have more control over other aspects and outright pays for parts of the game. I've also bought plenty of items from it myself, in pretty much every category. Now... that said...

The rising increase in costs solely because of non-genderlocked items is absolutely ridiculous. $18 for a glam is already a stupid cost, but now SE just has the absolute audacity to tell us "Hey, now you get some extra pants, so cough up the dough!" even though if the items were genderlocked still, they'd both exist regardless. They're not doing any extra work, yet they're taking on an extra charge for 0 reason. It's absolutely scummy as all heck and completely indefensible. Honestly the Fat Cat outfit went from an insta buy to something I'm not even thinking about. I haven't even bought the streetwear set yet which I'm considerably more interested in.

That's not even talking up the point that of all things that might be egregiously placed on the eshop instead of in-game methods, it's the emote category. So many absolutely basic emotes should be in-game rewards and just aren't, and this is the latest one. So even though I've been wanting this emote like the rest of the community from the minute we saw Pagaga, I won't be picking it up either. SE needs to cut this crap out and stick things back in the game where they belong.

I can't go out to a mid-level restaurant for dinner and a drink and spend less than $18.00, which is $13 for the sub + 5 for a month's portion of an expansion. I get sustenance for half a day and an hour of enjoyment. Put another way, a movie where I am is about $13.00 for an adult ticket, which is a month's sub. Two coffees is $13.00 where I am. If you average a single (1) hour of game time per day you're paying 51 cents per day, or $1.53 for three (3) hours of entertainment. This is more than a meal, movie, or cup of coffee get you for as much, or more, than the total monthly subscription cost of this game. That is an extremely cost-effective form of entertainment and is *very* cheap compared to other hobbies. For someone who averages even two hours per day, MMO gaming is a ridiculously low-cost form of entertainment.

I can understand why some people are upset about that. I gotta say thought I still bought it.

I tend to think that sometimes, we buy take outs for more or less the same price. Sometimes we buy a single t-shirt for that price.

But hey, I bought a silly fat cat pajamas in an online game instead o/

Because it's the truth. Having a meltdown about online store prices is like flipping out on a barista because you couldn't afford a latte.

nothing.. absolutely nothing... in the store is required to play the game. at all.

puts anything on there more in the realm of a luxury item. its like complaining that Aston Martins are too expensive!!!! they are, but you hardly need one to drive.

if its too expensive, save your money, dont buy it. the price of everything is going up.. why would the online store be any different?

The tea emote should have been free as well IMO. We see NPCs do it constantly, and probably our characters did it at least once too.
