Required LB3 Fights Are Terrible And Bad

It's an incredibly shallow mechanic. It's just Press Button To Live. It's further creep to the Yoshi-P gameplay singularity where everything will be dumbed down to a 1-2-3 for all classes. BUT, it would at least be completely inoffensively mid if the LB bar didn't guarantee death on a DC

Is LB3 really required in that fight though?

It mostly required on WoL Normal/EX and Endsinger Normal, because even with LB2, you still died...

Personal LBs would give Limit Breaks more purpose beyond "Healer uses LB3 to save the raid or die trying," or "Tank uses it or wipe cuz lul" or "DPS uses it as a glorified kill move because it literally doesn't exist for anything else at that point."

Healer LB3s are meaningful as it is. My YouTube watch history is chock-full of healers rescuing the party. We saved our LB3 on Pandaemonium 3 for Death's Toll, and it was an epic moment. Personal LBs would be a monkey's paw: all those great saves, ways to cheese things with Tank Limit Breaks, or just a way to dramatically end a boring Alliance Raid by a DD the moment the bar fills to 3... gone.

I can invalidate your own desires by saying "LBs will become unga bunga useless buttons lul." In PvP LBs can have all sorts of varied effects because enemies can be CCed, Slowed, or even one-shot. It's a very different environment from PvE where such effects would be way too powerful.

Not mitigating enough then.

I remember when Alexander Savage was out and we were unsyncing it, we'd kill the adds so fast the LB3 bar wouldn't fill and we'd wipe because even 10 lvls higher the damage was enough to kill us.

Just had to mitigate more. Critlo spread, sacred soil, passage of arms, Tactician (et al) etc etc

It's the same as having to esuna a critical debuff or interjecting/stunning a critical add. The add in endsinger gives full LB generation anyway so you dont even need to save it. They just really need to change losing a bar to a DC.

No one said that. The world race for DSR was somewhat decided because the top NA group kept attempting to big brain what to do with the first LB3. It's not written in plain sight how to use LB in these fights when the content drops. It had to be discovered.

This adds expression and discovery to the fight, you get several LB3s in ultimate because of how long it is and can also be used as a progression tool. Like in DSR say you are still progressing Nidhogg phase 3, but you had an untimely DPS death to Thordan phase 2, which means you will hit enrage. You can simply LB3 him to get back to Nidhogg. This is how you make good use of time for a long fight instead of just wipe and re-do.

Meh, I stand by my statement. LB is a poor system with minimal interactivity and isn't worth keeping.

Also, brother, Nidhogg is 3 minutes in. Just don't die next time.

I like having to actually use my tank LB3, so I think we need more of this.
