Think you have to take a look at that Reaper video again.

Of course we don't know much of the job, but that's based on what we can see so far at least.

It is an OGCD attack animation designed to look like a pet tied to a pump-and-dump job gauge. The fact that the void avatar is designed to be fired more often in short bursts since it is a DPS class as opposed to Dark Knight's Living Shadow doesn't change the fact that it is the same basic concept. Just the same way after Reaper merged with its voidsent they performed the same attack three times in a row tells you it is a variant of Delirium / Inner Release.

Considering the fact this is not the job actions trailer and is the REVEAL trailer and dont know much about how it plays, thats bold of you to say its a variant of Inner release.

I mean this is 6 months prior to release and we haven't seen even half it's toolkit more than likely let's wait until the job action trailer before we start declaring it's complete gameplay functionality

We saw like... 2 weaponskills, 1 oGCD, what is likely the level 80 transe up skill and 1 or 2 more weaponskills/oGCD. That's nothing but a very sucsint peak at the aesthetic and base concept of the job: fight with your void stand and then fuse with it to do big boi damage.

Yep, like the rdm teaser vid we got. I'm hoping there's more to reaper than just filling up the bar. Sorta like rdm vs smn imo. I enjoy both jobs but appreciate that smn is a bit more complex.

Very well...you shall have to fill up a bar that slowly depletes. Such excitement. They do place emphasis on constantly attacking.

From what I can tell the job will be build/spend and you use your resource to perform oGCDS and maybe another resource to do your burst phase.

Trailer shows 3 weaponskills, your "Avatar" which is clearly an oGCD, and a DPS burst mode that lets you do big attacks.

They don't want to show too much so all we really have to work with is the basics since all the attacks seem to all be single target.

I'd want to see how AoE will work on Reaper and how the class really works.

Right now Reaper and Sage have not revealed how their job gauges will work.

The translated interview saying it isn't a pet job is going to mean the "Avatar" isn't a summon on a timer like AQ, Bahamut/Phoenix, and Esteem are. It's something you directly control through both oGCD and your burst mode.

Depending on how often we can use our Demon I see a lot of weaving. If we can't attack as often then I expect heavy hitting attacks.

From 1-90 I expect we will have a lot more then 5 skills.

I agree they dont want to show too much right now. Based on the interviews though, there's a lot of work to be done after figuring out the final direction of the job so just showed us what they go so far. That's why I said it's similar to the teaser we got for rdm which didn't show that much.

That's what I said I'm hoping for. That there's more to to it than just build/spend one resource. So like smn has their trance mechanic but also egi assault to generate charges to use ruin iv.
If they have some other resource that's being generated to allow for magic attacks then I'll be rather happy. Not to big on the aesthetic which would I would be okay with as long as it had that "battle mage" feel.

Oh, you mean like the Dancer reveal trailer ? Yeah, you didn't get to see the AoE attacks but you got a pretty good look at its single-target toolkit.

Or how about the Red Mage one? You could tell exactly how that class would perform in a boss fight from that trailer.

Samurai reveal trailer? Same thing, real good look at the class's single target abilities and AoE toolkit is absent.

If these three previous DPS reveal trailers are any indication you have already seen the bulk of Reaper's single target toolkit. The only thing you haven't seen is any party support abilities it might have and its AoE toolkit.

None of those were developped during a pandemic and had their expansion delayed by 5 months. Maybe some of the abilities do not have VFX good enough to show, or maybe they wouldn't make much sense to show in just a 30 seconds teaser.
Judging the job from this little information is pointless, this is why it is a speculation thread and not an analysis thread.

All we can be fairly certain off is that the voidsent is used in oGCD and you seem to build up to the transformation. That's litteraly it.

I cant comment on the other since I havent looked at them but the RDM video absolutely does not show everything it has to offer. Not even close. Hell, just off the top of my head, the RDM jumps into melee range and then only uses a SINGLE melee attack before jumping back out and casting verflare/holy.

By your logic, we can assume that RDM"s melee combo is only a single melee attack. Is that what you think we should be doing for reaper?
