Well I must say thank you for a personal letter outside of the standard stock letter ^^ its much appreciated.
Dokf Skid on Figaro/Aegis is all I gotta say. If you started on Figaro I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.
Been around since CE release, started as a bot farming Hoverflys in Cassiopeia and upgraded to King of Children of the Corn Taru Levequest Bots. He's been banned a few times but comes back with the same name, on the same server, doing the same things.
You're telling me the GMs or Task Force can't watch people like Dokf and track their gil transactions, and see which characters are RMT? Don't just ban the source of the gil, ban the mules it's stored on. If you chop the tree at only what you can see (the trunk) you still need to pull up the roots to kill it!
RMT only exist of the population, more RMT = more people buying.
Thank you for the reply :)
I personally think that one of the most important methods of eliminating RMT is by players not buying their gil or accounts in the first place. If they have no customers they have no market.
Also: Having a game community that actively discourages vs enables RMTing within, is essential to keeping RMT out of business. If you see fellow players talking about gil buying, discourage it. I don't mean attacking them or insulting them, ask them why they think it is a good idea before they do it and perhaps provide them with some alternatives.
Why? because if they are considering buying gil, it is likely because they find it too hard to make gil on their own for whatever reason and advice as to how to do it the legal way might actually help. Give them a reason why it is not a good thing and what it actually does to the game. Believe it or not, without others informing them, some players actually do not realize that RMT is wrong and consider it a normal part of gaming. While it is not our job to inform them, it helps others to realize that there are possible, viable, attainable and efficient ways to legally make gil in this game.
Anyway, thanks again for answering SGM Jhanaka!
Well as long as community reps are in a talkative mood...
THREAD HIJACK!
Someone moved the Roegadyn Tail thread into the "Other" forum even though there have been and currently are other petion threads still floating around in the "General" forum. I beleive this was a CONSPIRACY to SILENCE the PEOPLE! :rolleyes: Or an accidental relocation. Noticed a number of other threads got dos boot that day. Someone had a V8 I suppose....
ANYWAYS! There is still more to discuss and there are people who support the idea. I request that the thread be placed back into its original forum so the community can contribute and better help you understand how we feel about the issue.
Thanks for listening ^_^
Tail Option for Roegadyns Thread. Now with 100% more GENERAL included!
~~~DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW FAST YOU WERE SCROLLING?~~~Don't forget to check out the Tail Option Thread. Vote for a brighter future for all Roegadyns!
I actually had a no-gil buying rule in my ffxi ls. Esp since we would actively farm high selling scrolls and drops via bcnm for the ls weekly to split among the participating members. If you were busted buying gil your pearl was busted, which was not the best move as we were extremely active and were able to make players alot of money if they needed it. Funny having that be a rule stated on the site with the consequences known how many ppl would let it slip and then all but beg for another chance lol. But we had a good core group that were together for years so events were never lacking in participants making loosing a few ppl not so bad overall
Don't like school? Don't go! -- You have to succeed in school to make something out of your life, and you have to go if your under 18 unless you dropped out
Don't like work? Don't go! -- You have to work to be able to survive and make a decent living for yourself or else you will be a bum on the streets living in a card board box
Don't like your neighbor? Kill them! -- You can but that will land you in jail
Don't like your left arm? Chop it off! -- You can do that but obviously its not a good thing to do
Heres one for ya
Playing an online video game and not liking how its ran:
Your doing that by your own choice, picking the game you want to play and paying for it on your own free will with the only consequence by not playing it is not playing it. Everything she said mentioned above all have harsh consequences that will land you in jail, on the streets, with one arm as well living in a psychiatric ward for an unknown amount of time.
Quitting a video game that your upset about is the most positive thing to do at the moment with very very very very minimal consequence besides possible boredom.
Xoo is being rather ignorant comparing apples to grenades. And no point was made except fror the fact she lets a video game meddle with her real life emotions like you do as well.
So now whats your super cool copy and paste quoting gonna do for ya?
I know alot of people that didn't finish school and make way more than I do.... in most places you only have to go til 16 if you don't live at home, etc etc etc. there are a lot of people who don't work, they're stay at home parents or struggling to find work. They survive. Circumstances that are commonplace make blanket statements retarded. Xoo's comparisons were meant to be extreme to draw attention to them. They're as stupid and useless as saying don't like it don't play without giving any reasons like people love to do.
If you can't appreciate an over the top response meant to draw attention to an underlying point.... then i support the statement Lurn2argue, cept i'd use debate.
Here's one for ya: Don't have anything to add to a thread? then stop posting, plain and simple.
