Need a Hall of Veteran for skip potion players.

i dont really care about advantages over those who actually took the time to learn their classes and the basic of their roles.

i care about people learning their stuff but hey if you wanna play with incompetent thats your choice. id rather play with a level 35 summoner that can get the job rather than a level 50 summoner that doesnt know jacks about what hes doing cuz he "did not pay to get 50 levels". its really up to you . but i stand with the the rest OBLIGATION TO PASS skill learning cvlass before hitting the first dungeon after you potion up

Oh, no. I was just refering to that one persons point of view about if a skip is p2w or not.
Not this thread itself that skips can create people who don't know what they are doing at late levels.

NO semantic, no changing words, no altering the concepts no sugar coatings just straight up facts.

pay to win literally stands for paying for an advantage or and easy win.

skipping content is an advantage not matther how you look it. <--- classic hw stormblod is around 3 months of grind at 2-3 hours a day 5-6 days a week unless youhave way more free time on your hands
skipping class levels from 1 to 50-60-70- classic- heavensward- stormblood content to get directly into shadowbringer content is an advantage. <---- thats also another 2-3 months of grind too because msq and class you main go hand in hand.

so you basicly paid to win an advantage. you skipped all 3 expansions, WITH REAL MONEY, to get into shadowbringer and you have no experience exept the one you bring from your previous mmo's wich is totally irrelevant to how final fantasy 14 is played.


skipping class levels from 1 to 50-60-70 levels to begin at the current expansion is a HUGE AS HELL disadvantage and makes players dead weight since they have NO experience of what they do and they will not tolerate to be schooled at tnaking dpsing or healing even with satin gloves dredged in sugar coating EXACTLY because they paid real money to be teamed up with the grown ups.

for a better comparison: you start martial arts... you're not going to be a black belt 46th dan in karate in 3 weeks. you need to work your experience and knowledge and go up the grind there is no easy way around this. experience comes through practice and time not wallet and credit cards .

skipping whole content is the same thing. since the msq, duties, trial and raids are there to help you improve along the road to 70-80. <--- reffer to what i wrote just 3 lines above

if you skip all this because you didn't want to work your butt off and learn, like its the case with wow, eso and many other mmo's that have to rely on cash shop to get the work done, it's your own fault and you should get either schooled by the game, your Fc members or other players WITH OR WITHOUT SUGAR COATING. asking for advice is always good but i have not seen this once since potions became a trend or im just raw out of luck and have not been in a group with potion that want to get better and are not affraid to ask for info or help.

i'll be a loser like 90% of na, eu and the whole player base from JP wich makes up nearly the entire player base the last 10% are RMT and potion buyers who complains non stop that the game is hard cuz they dont know what they are doing and are not asking for help to learn their classes., BUT at least i'ill know what im doing and i know i'll get the job done unlike P2W potionners.

I mean, you’re the one going on about how the job potions are pay to win, my dude. Pay to win means there’s some kind of advantage involved. But there’s no advantage to jumping a job to 50, 60, or even 70. It’s not like the game starts giving you free Ultimate titles and BiS gearsets along with it.

You like to make things personal, don’t you? What I prefer is irrelevant to this conversation, but if you’re that curious to know: I prefer to play with people who know what to do. Whether they jump a job or not is irrelevant—as long as they play “well”, that’s all that matters to me. Even so, I have tolerated the more “bad” players. Probably more than I should have. The only places I don’t tolerate it in is in a Savage/Ultimate environment. At that point, I either leave the party (if it’s not my own) or kick and replace them (if it is mine).

Your mistake is in saying that people who pay to jump their jobs means they automatically don’t know how to play them. I can assure you that there are players out there who did not jump their jobs and who don’t have any inkling how to string together their job’s rotation. I’ve ran into them many times.

You said in another thread that you’ve been around since 2.0. You do know that people not knowing how to play their jobs existed even back then, right? People who didn’t read their tooltips existed back then. Tanks who didn’t know how to tank existed back then. Healers who couldn’t heal existed. DPS that barely knew what a combo was existed. You know what didn’t exist back in 2.x and even 3.x? Jump potions.

Bad players have always existed—jump potions did not cause this behavior. It was always there, and it will always be there—regardless of the existence or nonexistence of job skips. You can’t make people care to play “well”. Not even a Hall of the Veterans like what was suggested in this thread will make people sudden care to play “well” if they never cared beforehand.

How is this an advantage? Who is “winning” here? Who is “losing”? There’s nothing to gain by skipping the story or skipping levels other than “time saved”, I guess. That’s not really a huge advantage though, because it’s not like you’re skipped directly to endgame and given a full set of BiS gear and full inventory of the latest Tomestones.

Story skips/level skips offer nothing that would give a player an inherent and blatant advantage over another player. If you consider leveling an advantage, I hate to break it to you, but leveling is extremely easy to do in this game. Especially with things like Road to 69, Heat of Battle II, food buffs, pre-bonus items like the Ala Mhigan Earrings/Aetheryte Earrings, and things like the Brand New Ring (that’s even given to players in-game for free!!!).

Personally, I’d consider anyone who skipped Heavensward to be “losing”—it’s the second best expansion after our current one. So, I guess if we’re going to take personal definitions for pay to win, these aren’t pay to win after all!

You can’t force people to learn—even if you make them level up “the right way”, you can’t force them to learn. They have to have a desire to learn and play well in order to learn and play well. This has always been the case and will always be the case.

I’m not even sure what you’re saying here, but if you’re implying JP has more players, then you would be incorrect. Unofficial censes have always pointed to NA having the largest playerbase in this game, with JP second, and EU third. Not that that is in any way relevant to the conversation we are having.

Was about to type something extremely similar to this.

People who care about their performance and being good will do it, with or without jump pots. The opposite is also true. No amount of tutorials will convince a bad player who's unwilling to better themselves to do so.

At the end of the day being good or bad, outside of literal physical or mental disabilities, is a choice.
