Right now, WAR+PLD is as "mandatory" as NIN is. That is "not at all" to clear, but if you don't have them, you're not optimized.

But, as I said, they could give Sole Survivor an effect that will at least benefit the DRK itself on bosses.

I'd argue more on NIN getting trick attack fixed to be phys only. And DRK getting a magic version. No need to go back that virus thing and just genuinely give alternatives.

Defensive kit and offensive kit needs to be adjusted. They said they will look at it, but realistically I dont see them fixing DRK until 4.4 or near Stormblood's end. Basically DRK will be like PLD was in HW

I actually like the idea of a Magic version of TA for DRK.

Though the rotation of DRK will be interesting once its added in theory.

Even if WAR and PLD are better tanks, this would actually make some groups want a DRK over one of the others, solely because they might have friends who are casters in the group.

Um...so, I have a question. How is Dark Knight doing now currently after the update in comparison to the other two tanks?

Not well, just like before. Warrior is great now and Paladin still is, so yeah. Dark Knights are viable to use but if you play all three tanks you'll really feel the difference in how much worse the Dark Knight is compared to the other two.


As a Dark Knight you can expect to do more than the others with less gained in return. With the aditional of not having utility for the rest of the group also.
