Well i have done both Bard and drg before atma drop rate increase (drg i have animus) Bard had taken me a little over 3 months to get all 12 atmas ( i did a few hrs per day)
I also have like i mentioned a drg Animus, Ninja Novus is 38/75 complete. Also now working on blm Relic (40/75 complete) so yeah well over 100 hrs for me and my Yoichi Bow Zeta when all said and done has cost me probably over 2 mil even over 3.
I really hope the "taken into consideration" will not be a slap in the face for all of this as i will not be very pleased at all with SE.
As for the current Zeta i believe it was actually said to still be relevant until new Relic comes out, who knows....

If SE makes the relic grinders unhappy, people will stop grinding relics, and probably won't bother with the new Heavensward relic. I'm currently working on my Zeta lights right now from base relic to relic zeta has been a very long journey. A lot of time has been invested in it and sometimes I wonder if it's really worth it. If you save up enough Poe you can get an ironworks weapon and upgrade it. If it becomes obsolete or offers only a minimal leg up in starting the next quest grind I will seriously reconsider starting the next relic grind.

Didn't read all the pages, but from the last live letter.
"Players will be able to undertake duties with smaller pre-made parties using a new option in the Duty Finder. For example, you’ll be able to enter a dungeon with just two players. We’ll make further adjustments for this so new players can follow as well. With this feature you’ll also be able to challenge the Coil of Bahamut with 7 players."
So I'm sure new players will not have a hard time getting it done.
